I get the impression that JayJayDean has been busy with other things lately, so I'm giving him the week off.

NFL PLAYOFF SCENARIOS AFTER WEEK 13 (I think)
Good Things: Indianapolis - has clinched a playoff spot. Can clinch #1 seed with a win. Cincinnati - can clinch AFC North with a win and a Pittsburgh loss. New England - can clinch AFC East with a win and a Miami loss. Seattle - has clinched NFC West.
Bad Things: Baltimore, Buffalo, Cleveland, Detroit, Green Bay, Houston, New Orleans, N.Y. Jets, Oakland, San Francisco, Tennessee have all been conclusively eliminated from playoff contention. I've worked out a sceario where Arizona gets into the playoffs, and Miami is obviously still alive for the division, so I think that's it.
Philadelphia is eliminated from the NFC East divisional race with a loss. Philadelphia is eliminated from the playoffs with a loss and a win by any of Dallas, Minnesota, or Atlanta. Pittsburgh is eliminated from the AFC North divisional race with a loss and a Cincinnati win. Miami is eliminated from wildcard contention with a loss, and eliminated from the playoffs entirely with a loss and a New England win. Arizona is eliminated from the playoffs with a loss or a win by any of Dallas, Minnesota, or Atlanta. St. Louis is eliminated from the playoffs with a loss.

I'm amazed that New England is sitting at 7-5. With all those injuries I expected Miami and Buffalo to give them a much harder time. Still, we can all look forward to the end of Tom Brady's "Never lost a playoff game" streak, eh?
Pandas are absurd. Life is absurd. Life is Pandas.
You have Houston listed with the #1 and T#3 draft picks. While I am sure every fan of the Texans wishes that was true, is that not the Jets pick at #3?
"Life is hilariously cruel!"
Let's gather 'round the campfire and sing our campfire song, Our C-A-M-P-F-I-R-E S-O-N-G song, And if you don't think that we can sing it faster, then you're wrong, But it'll help if you just sing along.... If Indy wins, then loses out, they'll only end up with one AFC loss (SD), since the other two games are NFC West crossovers. As noted for the DEN/CIN tiebreaker, the Broncos already have two. If they beat JAX, they clinch the better confrence record.
Also correct. I forget that Indy was playing an AFC team this week.
The official playoff scenarios (which are now up) don't have Buffalo or Detroit eliminated from the playoff yet. I'll have to show my math on why I listed them as eliminated and see if anyone else can say where I may have messed up (or contrariwise, where NFL.com may have meseed up).
So if you're 13-0 Indianapolis with the #1 Seed clinched, what do you do? Do you keep playing at full strength with a chance to go undefeated on the line, or do you let things slide for a couple weeks? More importantly, WWTDD?

I thought he said he was going to start resting his starters, but did not say how he would go about doing so. I gotta believe Payton starts the games just to keep his streak alive, but I have to think that Sorgi will see a lot of playing time.
If Buffalo wins out, New England loses the rest of its games and Miami does no better than 2-2, the Bills are the sole AFC East champion. As for Detroit, they need to win out with the Vikings, Falcons, and Cowboys all losing their last four and the 'Skins beating only Dallas to finish 7-9. In that case the Lions would be the number six seed in the NFC. I'm sure there are probably at least a few more combinations with all sorts of exotic tiebreakers that would get the Bills or Lions into the playoffs, but those are the two clearest cut ones.
You hafta love those Ravens. At 2-7 they were right in the thick of things to get a top 5 pick. Now after wins over the Texans and the Steelers they're outside the top ten. With a good chance to win at least two more (Green Bay and Cleveland) this team could be the 14th or 15th pick securing the worst type of season of them all: bad record and bad draft pick.
Wow, so what is that, 4 mistakes? I shall now commit hari-kari ... Oh, wait. I don't think I have any knives that will do the job.
I must have done something wrong with figuring out Detroit's outcome last night, because when I do it now I get the same answer that you got. It's possible for Detroit to be the #6 seed by being the only 8-8 team around (in this scenario Minnesota, Dallas, Atlanta, St. Louis, Washington, and Philadelphia all finish at 7-9). With Buffalo I forgot that they were still alive in the divisional race. They have been eliminated from the wild card race though.

Also have to remember before knocking teams out the rare occurance of a tie occurring. Buffalo as an example: They win 4, go 8-8. New England loses 3, and ties Miami. They go 7-8-1. In this scenario, Miami only loses 1 game, but ties New England to go 7-8-1 also, and Buffalo wins the division outright.

You know, I could really see the Colts going undefeated in the regular season, then losing in the Patriots in the Playoffs. And I hate the Patriots, too.
Hold nothing sacred and you'll never be dissapointed. Especially not this statement.
That's why I'm not bragging on the Colts until we actually accomplish something. I'm extremely superstitous when it comes to sports, and you don't win any awards for starting out 13-0.

If it were me, at best I would have said "This interview is over, and I'd prefer it if you removed me from your draft considerations." At worst I would have punched the guy in the face.
