Okay, maybe I'm just stupid, but here's what I don't get.
Backlash's original main event of Undertaker-Triple H was scrapped in favor of Hogan-Triple H. It was suggested that this was done, in part, because the crowd had no reaction to the announcement of that match. But now, just one month later, who's going against Hogan for the WWF Title in the main event at Judgment Day? Undertaker.
Has Undertaker really improved his heat and crowd reactions in only a month? Will Hogan be able to generate interest in this match, when comments and rumors abound that his pops are getting smaller and more quiet? Am I really that stupid and missing something important, or did the WWF just book itself into a really bad corner?
Would someone be so kind as to help me out here, please?
"It would have been cool if Owen said Wahoo McDaniel was kicking his ass." - WTF13; "But the Junkyard Dog rushed the ring and made the save BY GAWD (literally BY GOD!)" - SuperShaneSpear; proving that you can still find a way that Owen Hart and Bret Hart are still good for a laugh.
I think Taker sold himself as a bad ass with the HHH beatdown on Smackdown. Actually that was the first time I was ever really, shall I say, frightened by seeing him in the ring. You knew he wasn't supposed to be there and there was just something about it that made him seem more menacing to me. (Maybe because he's so much taller physically than Jericho or HHH, and the fact that you knew he was going to do something vicious to HHH.) I would believe Hogan-Undertaker at the next PPV with a couple Undertaker and Jericho beatdowns.
I would be down with the rumored fatal four-way, but everyone knows whose shoulders are getting pinned to the mat if that match takes place. Hint: It ain't Hogan, it's not 'Taker, and it's certainly not Triple H.
At least, that's the way I see it.

Actually, I figure that what happened is originally they planned on a UT-Hogan match. But then they remembered that UT is a locker room leader and he's been there a decade so they can't have him job clean to Hogan. But then Hogan was there even before Taker and he's a legend over 275 lbs. (to eliminate those pesky little guy legends like Flair who can job without hesitation) so he can't do a clean job of any sort to UT, plus he did his one contractually obligated job at WM. So we add HHH to the mix and make it a Triple Threat match. But then he demands that he wins since he had to job at the last PPV, so he certainly won't be getting pinned 2 ppv's in a row. And the same problems apply with having HHH pin either of the other 2 guys. So the WWF is in a bad situation. Then all of a sudden, a light goes on over HHH's head, likely while twirling the evil mustache he wears to all booking meetings. "Why don't we elevate Jericho to this level. It'll be a great opportunity for him to work with the top card and make himself look like a real main eventer." At this point even he can't contain the evil cackling and the whole room begins laughing except for Heyman who just weeps quietly in a corner. At this point the basic match structure is laid out. First Jericho bumps for everyone in order. Then through chicanery he gets the advantage for 40 seconds, culminating in a lionsault on HHH that only gets 2. Later on he gets beaten some more, but gets the Walls of Jericho on Hogan, who acts like he's really hurting for 5 seconds before getting to the ropes. Match ends with Jericho getting chokeslammed by UT, but HHH knocks him out of the ring, giving Hogan a chance to hit Jericho with the legdrop for the pin.
Sounds plausible to me anyhow.
"You used it to shove your miserable daughter down our throats week in and week out...not anymore!" - Ric Flair gives me hope, Raw 3/18/02
"I thought it was cool how HHH just tossed Jericho out of the ring and made him vanish, possibly into another dimension, at the end of the match." - Dr. Unlikely says the funniest thing I've ever read on Wienerville
HHH has nothing against Angle... Anyway, I think the four-way is gonna happen, and I think McMahon is gonna grow back some of his steroid shrunken package and force Hogan to job to Jericho. Oh, but that was just a dream, and reality states that Jericho makes everyone else look great, but doesn't get any offense and finally taps to an armbar from Taker or something, so UT can get his final run out of the way, so Hogan can have another final final run.
