It kind of seemed like Tough Enough pulled itself back up tonight. I actually liked the Jackie-Pete thing that had been going on for the last couple of weeks, but it was time to move on, and I thought they did that in fairly good fashion. I think there's a pretty good chance we're going to hear more about their thing before this is all over, but at least it wasn't the focus of the show. Although I did find Jackie's mom to be quite the water-cooler conversation piece, so I hope we're not done with her.
Glad to see the focus on wrestling. I still don't like Holly, but you have to expect some of that kind of attitude in wrestling, and I'm sure it will only get worse when the winners, or the losers for that matter, hit the minor-league circuit. I also like that they're showing weaknesses of a lot of the contestants -- tonight it was Anni, last week it was Jake. We sure aren't hearing much from Linda.
Not only does Maven seem eons ahead of the TE2 contestants, but way ahead of Nidia also. She seemed to have a pretty good amount of ring authority, but otherwise, I just thought she didn't come across as well as Maven did. As for the current contestants, I have my hunches, but I don't see a hands-down favorite for either sex.
Well if they pick Jackie&Pete the WWF has a automatic storyline. I think Hawk is heading to Ohio Valley/Memphis Pro/NWA West league with a third place finish on TE2.
The most surprising thing that I learned from Tough Enough tonight was that Nidia has entrance animation! What the hell was that? It looked like the opening of a low-rate exercise show.

Funny, I was gonna say "Tampon ad." *L*
Anybody else ponder that MTV paid for a trip to Sun City South Africa? Maybe I'm old and cyncial but when did it become OK to play Sun City again?
I realize progress has been made but geez. It's like the Gos Gos reuniting in a concert at the Reichstag. Shows you where MTV has come to.

"I fight alone, but at least I'm gonna die."
Who was that in the ring with them in South Africa? At first I thought it was Snow, but his hair color was just a bit off, so now I think it was a local or Raven. Anybody have a tape to see?
Chavo doesn't seem to do a whole hell of alot of training.
Maven comes off really well no matter WHAT he's doing now. Good for him and GREAT for the WWF.
I felt bad for poor Ivory when she couldn't get a good snap in on her chops, and for that matter for Bob when Jake refused to sell for him.
Good episode, but I still don't see anyone that REALLY stands out in my mind as somebody I'd hire. Since this is the WWF I'll say Jake and Anni. (By the by, in typical male fashion, I'll say that while I don't find Anni attractive, I did think that she looks MUCH better with her hair pulled back.)
Sun City is the place to play since apartheid came crumbling down.
South Africa is the home to many wrestlers, including the ultra-heel Col. DeBeers, who did almost as much publicity damage to apartheid as Nelson Mandela and The Rev. Desmond Tutu.
The contestants sure perked up at the presence of Maven. He must have been a very good teacher.

No offense, but I don't think the point was for them to practice selling. I don't think it was even part of their regular training, Hawk said Big was bored and just wanted to see who could take Bob's chops. From the looks of things, Jake was the only one that could...

I think they need to make Big a heel manager on RAW or Smackdown. He could come up with weird little bets and challenges for the WWF superstars to do, just for entertainment's sake.
It seems like all of a sudden, the producers realized the contestants are in training to be pro wrestlers, so now they're focusing on wrestling. I can't remember, but it seems like the other group were further along at this point, but I may just think that because that is the way it was portrayed last night.
I too was really impressed with Maven. He had a lot more personality than I'd seen from him before. Nidia still looks like the Wicked Witch of the West, though.
I wonder if they're through with the cuts for now.
Maybe they get to wrestle Power Uti in South Africa...
All this freakin' talk about "bonds of friendship" forming -- enough already! Gee, a handful of people forced to live together for months and BONDS FORM? Well, duh .... I mean, is this a wrestling show or an episode of "OZ"?
By the way, that closing shot of the kids on the beach .... every contestant was there but one. (and I think it means something)
and PS: Nidia never should have won in the first place. Taylor was cuter, and a better wrestler to boot. She just didn't have the right cup size to suit Vince, I guess.

I agree. Taylor should have been the one. I mean if Vince wanted sex appeal, Taylor definitely had it. Click for recent Taylor pic. Now they obviously wanted exotic (dancer?) and so they chose Nidia. Now she is showing that...in Ohio.

- Jake looks like he has gotten better in the ring.
- Nidia is very, very ugly. Nice "titantron" We don't need another Jazz, except this one CAN'T WRESTLE...good combo... Where's Taylor?...just use her as a valet, the only decent one the WWF has right now is Torrie...Debra never accompanies SCSA
- Hawk or Pete or the basketball girl seem the next to get the boot.
- Jackie and her (rich) boyfriend are back...how cute (eww)
- I still hate this season, TE 3 will not be happening
"Big Daddy Cool, ha, more like BIG DADDY BITCH."
"Oh my gosh...it can't be...Goldberg...is...NEW BLOOD!"
I'm still sticking with Hawk and Anni. I picked them from the casting special, and damnit, I'm gonna stick with them so I can brag when they win.
Out of everyone though, I'd say Pete is the only one who has NO chance. From what they've shown, Pete doesn't have much of a personality, nor is he really that good in the ring. Plus the whole hookup hurt both Pete and Jackie's stock.
I should know better by now than to pay attention to the "next week" promos, but it looked like someone is going to be cut while in South Africa. Any bets on who? I will have to go with Pete, I think his time is about up.
Of course, last week I thought Hawk was going to flame out after seeing him cry on the previous week's promo.
I was watching E! "Wild on LA" (i think LA was the city). If youve seen the show. They hilight "cool" things to do in whatever city there in. Restaurants, Clubs stuff like that. Anyway they went to this beach that had an obstacle course set up.
Yeah it was Optimum Fitness except it was called "Optimum Boot Camp". and the trainer (i forget his name) was dressed in full BDU's, Drill Sgt. cover and he had a pony tail. He didnt take off his shades though. Funny stuff if you saw it.
Wow. Taylor is hot when she's not wearing yellow speedos and a ripped up sweater top.
Are you all forgetting about Kenny? Obviously, Hawk and Jake aren't going to be cut, and I think they'll keep Pete around for the Real-World aspect, but Kenny just doesn't have any personality. "Basketball chick" Linda sucks wads in my opinion. I definitely think Jackie is going to win, despite her idiocy, because of her body. Anni is this season's Paulina...she's going to get hurt. I agree, this season sucks.
YOU WANT A PIECE OF ME!?! - The immortal, chilling words of...The Shockmaster!
I really thought he would move to a position as an MMA talking head after dipping his toe in the octagon. This is a curious move for him, but if a network asked me to come talk about wrestling each week, yeah, I'd do it too.
