WWE is deeply saddened by the news that Eddie Guerrero has passed away. He was found dead this morning in his hotel room in Minneapolis. Eddie is survived by his wife Vickie and his two daughters.
Oh my God. That's so horrible. Here I was just talking to my friends last night about how I really wanted him to win the World Heavyweight Title last night.
My thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family.
"Before you could take Animal Crossing to a different village. Now, with Wi-Fi, you can take it around the world." -Satoru Iwata on Animal Crossing DS
I was just about to post the sad news myself. He was one of the greats - an amazing worker and personality.
Condolences to his family.
"Nobody enjoys a good time more than I do, but this business of yours is as legitimate as a three-legged donkey...which of course is illegitimate because as we all know donkeys have four legs."
I was just looking at this weeks Smackdown and cracking up laughing at the chair gag. This is just not right... It hurts so much because he was an extraordinary athlete and personality and he will be sorely missed.
One shouldn't feel so connected to someone that you only see on the tv once a week, but he's a human being and I am so sorry for his family.
Nothing takes away form the fact that he busted his ass to get where he was.
Froma an athletic/entertainment standpoint, he was an exceptional worker, master of psycology.
And last I heard, he was a good person (and that's more important than athletics and entertainment).
Rest in Peace, Eddie. God bless you, and may He have mercy on your soul and that of your family.
St. Sebastian Patron Saint of Athletes, pray for him.
(edited by El Nastio on 13.11.05 1131) When we've been here ten thousand years... Bright shining as the sun. We've no less days to sing God's praise... Then when we've first begun.
This is a bad day. For all his demons, Eddie entertained us for over a decade. It's a bad day. And, could they somehow correct the story so that the dateline is November 13th instead of October 13th?
It was just reported on WCCO's morning news that the Hennepin County medical examiner is in the hotel. I'm hoping that's just to confirm that he died in his sleep, as opposed to some of the other things I don't even want to think about.
I had a shitty morning and THEN I read this. I'm just extremely saddened by this news. He was an extremely gifted performer, one of my favorite wrestlers ever.
Hard to believe another one has gone so young. We await to see the cause of death. We may have suspicions, but I won't speculate due to the sensative nature.
RIP Eddie

You do have to think that the steroid use also took a huge toll on his heart, as it is. Whether he was off/on the wagon may have been irrelevant at the time of death; his heart had to have been weakened from years of that deadly combo.
Maybe El Gringos Locos are flying again, somwhere.
WWE is deeply saddened by the news that Eddie Guerrero has passed away. He was found dead this morning in his hotel room in Minneapolis. Eddie is survived by his wife Vickie and his two daughters.
Just awful, awful news.
Weren't they taping both Raw and Smackdown in Minneapolis tonight? How do you go on with the show after this? I never met the man, but feel (like another gentleman put it earlier) like a mack truck has hit me.
Eddie was one of my favorites, and it's truly sad to see someone so talented gone just like that. Not that it matters in the big picture, but he may have been winning the title tonight.
My condolences to his family and firends.
Thanks for the memories. There were many and they were all great. He will be missed.
Unfortunately, "shocked" is never the right word in this sort of thing anymore, but saddened is...Eddie was one of the greatest all-around performers I've seen and with his very public "demons"...it just makes it worse. I can't imagine the wrestling world without him.
Man, not as a disrespect to the other wrestlers in the past who passed away, but this has to be the one wrestling death that just . . . really topples me right now. Its giving me a range of emotions. I'm saddened, I'm pissed off, and just plain old upset that this happened. Eddie Guerrero is one of my favorite wrestlers and surely I thought this Friday he might've won the title off an injured Batista.
And there is so much to feel saddened and upset about as a Guerrero fan. First off, the main part and the most devasting part, is that after all the struggles he went through to overcome so many issues, and to pass away like so many other tragic wrestler stories is just heartbreaking. I really hope, as someone said that he at least died in his sleep. I think if anything, this man deserved to pass away peacefully.
And least important but also on my mind is that this guy deserved another title. And I really thought his time was coming again. His first title run was way too short, and felt this might be the one where he really gets to carry it for a bit. And then to see him in an angle with another wrestler I liked, Batista, it was awesome. I loved that angle. I just . . . I'm sorry for such a rambling post, but this really has hit me. Man.
My god, I can not even believe this. It hasn't fully sunk in yet. I really have nothing good to say, as I'm in a state of shock. I just watched his DVD last night, laughing as he related childhood stories and visiting Chico's Tacos. Now, I wake up and read this.
So freakin' surreal. I'm kicking myself for having ignored Smackdown for the past several weeks, realizing how I was taking his magnificent talent for granted. Yet going back and watching him now would just make this that much more unbearable. He was taken way too soon, and just after he'd gotten his life back together. Just awful.
My condolences go out to his family and friends, for whom I couldn't imagine how much harder this is to deal with.
Make sure to give him the tribute he deserves, WWE.
I'm speechless. As a fan, I'm shocked and saddened, but I can only imagine what those close to him are feeling, especially Chavo. (Note to Vince: now would be a good time to nix the Kerwin White gimmick.)
