I believe that the current tests are for a feature of Alexa which is not done yet. I think they are putting storefront pictures up for addresses when you search for them. It seems like a pretty cool idea, actually.
There could be a million different uses of the mechanical turk, but for now only Alexa (Amazon) is posting work on the site.

I think you mean A9, not Alexa. Try http://maps.a9.com/ to see where they're going with all this.
I've made about $3.39 for an hour's work, but I still have about 70 pending. They had one neighborhood near me, so most of it was easy (I had 18 rejected, though.) Any idea if there's some sort of cap on this? I could easily see myself getting addicted to this and blowing off my real job to make $3 an hour clicking. Sad, I know.

There is no cap, but I've got to think you'd go crazy.
If you do this full time, you'd have to figure out the tax ramifications. Remember, you're an independant contractor for Amazon - just like your favorite pro wrestlers. That means no bennies or help with payroll tax or whatever.

Just put an apostrophe before the number if it starts with 0 '02345 will display as 02345 (Will say it's text, not a number, but that should be ok for zip codes).
