Here's some quick thoughts:

Matt Hardy & Rey Mysterio d. Gene Snitsky & Chris Masters. Edge pulled out. Really good match. The best match Snitsky & Masters will ever be in.

Eugene & Jimmy Snuka d. Rob Conway & Tyson Tomko. Was what it was.

Mankind (not Dude Love, because the voters are morons) d. Carlito. Good, and Foley really tried, but the heat just was not there.

Big Show & Kane d. Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch. No point to that finish.

Trish won a battle royal in lingerie. Was what it was. Victoria looked to land on her head during the finish.

Batista d. Coach in a street fight (I was really hoping the verbal debate would win). Was what it was. Batista tried to spinebuster Vader, but Vader fell on his ass. I LOVE VADER~!~!~!

Ric Flair d. Triple H in a steel cage match. Hell of a match. Tons of blood and told a great story. Flair hit Hunter with multiple chairshots and then escaped the cage. Great match.

John Cena d. Shawn Michaels and Kurt Angle. Another great match. Cena pins Michaels with the FU.

The last two matches sort of save this PPV, but the rest of the card was quite blah.

Joey Styles was tremendous. He fit in perfectly and did a great job. He better be on RAW Monday.

The answer to WWE's financial problems...

Never 'Wiener of the Day', and is actually quite bitter about it.

Also, free WWE 24/7 Online for a month. Use the code "wwetabootuesday". Apparently, the code was announced during the show, or something. I dunno, I snagged it off another board. You're not limited to the current month's matches, either. You'll have access to the entire library.

During the first match, I was thinking, "Jesus Joey, tone it down about 10 notches." But by the end of the night, everything fell into place, and he did a great job.

Snitsky and Masters v.s Hardy and Rey: After the thing with Stone Cold being taken out and Torrie removed, they DARE let Edge walk IN THE FIRST MATCH. That is absolutely ridiculous. I must say, this match was pretty decent, with an exciting finishing sequence that got the crowd into it. I could see two refs with one outside and one inside, but the two refs in the ring made no sense, especially when it really had nothing to do with the finish.

Snuka and Eugene v.s Conway and Tomko: Two good points: it was short and there was not much of Snuka. But boy did he look unsteady up top. And then we had the same sequence with the legends coming out that we did last night.

Carlito v.s Mankind: Mick hit most of Mankind's usual offense and took a few nice bumps. Other than that, he looked pretty winded by the end. Not much too it.

Boy, that backstage Vince, Eric segment really showed where Vince's allegiance lie, as if there were any doubt.

Murdoch and Cade v.s Kane and Show: I REALLY hate Cade and Murdoch losing the titles, but it doesn't really lessen their cred to lose to two monsters. Match was alright.

Todd Grisham actually showed some personality in his segments tonight.

Goldust, Coach and Vader v.s Batista: Not much to say here. Batista and Vader botched a spinebuster, but I can't really blame either of them, since Vader had no business being out there with the shape he is in.

Women's Battle Royal: Trish looked really in shape. Of course, they only tried post-match interviews when some angle was going to take place.

Triple H v.s Ric Flair: Real good, brutal match. Flair pulled out all the stops. I loved the passion when he yelled at Trips. Great stuff.

Cena v.s Angle v.s Michaels: A bit disappointing, I gotta say. I think the crowd reaction helped that, because they didn't really side with one guy. Could've used 5-10 more minutes, IMO.

Joey Styles made this show for me, he really did. I was never a huge fan of his announcing work, but he really pulled one out here. Very prepared and didn't come off sounding like a wiseass.

I thought this was a surprisingly good PPV. None of the bad matches went long and the matches that were good were given enough time to develop. Honesty, I thought the Flair-HHH cage match was one of the best this year, and the main wasn't bad either (though I was expecting Angle to get the win here).

That almost happened at my Blast Area but they were able to call the company and get it on in the middle of the first match in which we popped.

Ironically enough I was in to all the matches. Yeah the first four matches were pretty much warming us up but I loved them anyway.

Kane and Show I didn't see them losing.

Flair and H I didn't know who would win. I was really pulling for Flair.

3 Way...was great...yeah it could've went longer but I was satisfied with the ending.

I just got home from the show (6th row on camera), and I thought it was pretty solid. The crowd was into the show throughout most of it. I thought Flair/HHH was the best match of the night. They did a great job telling a story, and HHH got a well-deserved standing "O" from the fans after the match. The Diva match was what it was. Batista had this look on his face when the street fight was over that looked like, "Why in the hell did they waste my time with this?" And I am really happy Vader did not drop his straps a la Angle... there would have been a flab-alanche. My buddy and I were waiting for Superfly to fall off the top rope. That should be the absolute last time we see him in a ring. I agree with OMEGA that the first match will be the best one Snitsky and Masters will ever be in. I liked the tag title match as well. I think Show and kane played off each other well. The fans in my section were fully behind Angle in the main event. All the little kids were screaming for Cena, the adults wanted HBK or Angle.

All in all, it was a fine show. I only wish I could have heard Joey Styles.

They dare to let Edge wlak out because he's hurt, so they probably decided to further the heat between him and Hardy (there IS a cross-promotional PPV coming up soon, if I recall correctly). It's actually a rather great idea.

- Edge gains heel heat for walking out when the crowd probably voted for Matt to see him get another crack at Edge.
- Rey and Hardy look great against two big guys.
- The big guys look great aginst fan favorites, making THEIR heat better.
- Edge gets time to heal.

I wouldn't be suprised if at Survivor Series, their paths cross once more. For example, Matt eliminates Edge during the Survivor Series style match, setting up ANOTHER match (because Edge will say 'hey, you still never beat me one on one').

Mind you, Kane is hurt too, and they gave him a tag title.

So go ahead and say Edge is injured. What's the loss there? The 'net fans know he's injured and that they're not just getting jerked around, and the ones who don't know about his real injury think he's scared of Hardy. But to just walk out after all that's gone on I think is a cop out. They could've had a better reason than "I don't need to fight you."

I've noticed something with Snuka. Whenever he delivers the Splash off the top, notice how the victim always does some sort of half-hearted sit-up before the move connects. Conway did it tonight, and heck, even Don Muraco did it when Jimmy flew off the cage way back when. I don't recall seeing other "splash victims" (courtesy Eddie, RVD, etc.) doing it.

This one's got me scratching my head.

I saw this on the BIG SCREEN.

- Joey Styles got a pop from the theatre crowd.

- Kerwin/Striker vs. Benjamin/Venis was rushed and pointless with a botched finish. The only highlight: Kerwin has polo shirt alligators on his boots.

- Matt/Rey v. Snitsky/Masters: The internet sure loves Matt Hardy. Nobody loves Hardcore Holly. Were the people chanting "we want Christian" at one point? Relatively decent match for a match, awesome match considering who the heels were. Snitsky blew about a hundred spots, but y'know, it's Snitsky.

- Eugene/Snuka v. Conway/Tomko: Tomko is back to the weird mustache-less goatee. Which I have too, but it looks WEIRD on him. Anyway, this match was about what you'd expect. Snuka looked super frail, barely doing anything and taking about 20 years to balance on the top rope before the splash. I forgot Duggan ever had that music.

- Man Kind (said Lilian) v. Carlito: Foley... wins? Is this seriously his first win since before WM2000 because I can't remember him winning a match in a long-ass time. I'm sure I have to be forgetting something big. Anyway, Foley is limited and Carlito sucks (but is entertaining) and the crowd didn't care because there was no build. This was okay despite all that, but for Foley's first WWE match in a year and a half, you'd want way better than okay.

- Cade/Murdoch vs. Kane/Show was okay. I don't think putting the belts on Kane/Show is a good idea, but what the hell, like they'll ever do anything meaningful with the tag belts anyway. Kane's facial expressions when teaming with Show are so great. He's so amused whenever Show hurts somebody. It's nice that he finally has a friend

- Batista vs. Coach: well, they tried. The highlight:

JamesEarthquake: Also, Vader fell over
OMG its Feely: again? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
JamesEarthquake: Batista went for a spinebuster
JamesEarthquake: picked him up
JamesEarthquake: Vader fell over
OMG its Feely: hahahahaha
JamesEarthquake: Batista: "Fuck."
JamesEarthquake: Batista spinebustered Goldust
JamesEarthquake: Vader got up
JamesEarthquake: Batista: "Come here."
JamesEarthquake: SPINEBUSTER
OMG its Feely: hahaha

- Lingerie battle royal: This was about what you'd expect for three wrestlers and three no-talents. I liked the sacrifice finish - it would make a good end to a Survivor Series match too, where one wrestler forces a double-countout with the last person on the other team, so that he gets eliminated but his team wins.

- Flair vs. HHH: Holy shit was this ever great. I love this with all of my body including my peepee. Meltzer doesn't seem sold on the idea that it was great ("Came off at the end ge like a ar people almost didn't know how to take" what), but I dug the hell out of this match. Maybe it was the theatre atmosphere, or maybe I'm just bonering out because Flair won clean, but I think this ruled and it sold me on the idea of getting the eventual DVD. Flair bled and HHH bled and Flair cried~~~~~~~~~~ when he won and everyone in the theatre popped HUGE for the finish and they even applauded as Triple H left the cage and boy oh boy this was so great.

Also, Flair was quite the pottymouth.

FUCK YOU
GIVE ME YOUR BEST FUCKING SHOT
MOTHERFUCKER

- Angle vs. Cena vs. Michaels: This was pretty great too! A bit rushed, sadly, but awesome while it lasted. Angle rules and Michaels is so annoyingly great because I really want to hate him but I can never completely do it. Cena is a knob but he more or less kept up with the other two dudes. I really enjoyed this.

All in all, the last two matches did a really good job of saving a mediocre show. I'm glad I saw this!

It might be because if you were to sit up while taking a Frog Splash, you could easily throw the guy off and end up getting a knee or an elbow somewhere that could do some serious damage. Especially Eddie's because of how fast he does the pump, but especially RVD's because of how he would just plain fuck it up.

If you watch old matches with guys like The Warrior, Earthquake and Typhoon, and anyone else that did any kind of splash move, most of them sat up a bit. My guess is that it helps it look better without needing the guy to really squash the shit out of them. I could be full of shit, but maybe it's one of those things the new kids in the WWE haven't picked up yet because 50% of them are still learning every week.

Some trivia about Kane and The Big Show's victory for the World Tag Team Title:

This is Kane's ninth World Tag Team Title reign with his sixth different partner. He's won the title with Mankind twice, X-Pac twice, Undertaker twice, The Hurricane, Rob Van Dam, and now The Big Show. (He also held the WCW World Tag Team Title, post-InVasion, with Undertaker). This is his first tag-team title reign since June 15, 2003. And if I'm not too much mistaken, Kane has turned on most, if not all, of his previous tag-team title partners. So let's just say that when he turns on Show, it won't be a surprise to me.

This is Big Show's third World Tag Team Title reign with his second different partner. He's partnered with Undertaker twice, and now he's with Kane. This is his first tag-team title reign since September 20, 1999. I was surprised when I looked this up; I could've sworn he'd won more tag-team titles in WWE than that. (He also won the WCW World Tag Team Title, pre-InVasion, with Lex Luger and Sting).
