Matt Striker teaches us about "accountability."

I'm assuming this vignette (we don't know whether it will appear on TV or not) is meant to debut Matt Striker's character, which is that of a cocky, overly-critical heel.

It has promise, and it's good they're debuting a character for him while tying in the (in)famous firing, but I'm a little worried they might go over the top with the schoolteacher thing. If they can keep it from becoming too gimmicky, it could have potential.

Interesting, to say the least. Thoughts?

It could be interesting for a while, and i quite like Matt Striker's promo work, but i also see them running out of ideas quickly. If he's built up properly it could be fine, but the "cocky, overly-critical heel" loses credibility and becomes a joke as son as he gets embarrassed by a cocky face.

My first reaction to his heel turn was just sadness that when it finally looked like they'd aligned Shelton Benjamin with someone who can talk it was just a way to show a random heel turn for no apparent reason.

That video's been up for a while...but nevertheless, it's really good.

From what I heard, it's part of an ongoing series. I just hope they do with this like what they've done with JBL's video work...and keep it strictly non-wrestling. With Striker, he can allude to him following his dreams, and becoming a WWE superstar...but as long as he's not cutting a promo on a superstar in these videos, I'm happy.

At least this is a better way of presenting a wrestling 'teacher' than Dean Douglas was.

On the flip side, congrats to ABC for hiring Tim McGraw to tailor the lyrics to "I like it, I love it" for every halftime highlight show throughout the "Monday Night Football" season. Just last week, my buddy House and I were discussing Cosell's classic highlight narratives in the '70s, and how nobody had approached them since, and I told House, "Only one thing could ever come close, and I know it's a long shot, but what if ABC hired Tim McGraw to tailor the lyrics to 'I Like it, I Love It' for each week of NFL highlights throughout the season?" And wouldn't you know, it happened! See, dreams can come true. --- Bill Simmons, www.sportsguy.net

Yes and yes. I agree whole heartily both of these aspects.

Now, for my additional aspect he's using a MAJOR mainstream media point. I got red, marked up, and incorrect papers back. I went back and did it right the next time. I wasn't "traumatized" by red ink. What is school coming to now a days? Go Matt Striker and his 101 class. We need teaching!

I agree with him too.

Kinda like Sean O'Hare's "Devil's Advocate" charater. Only Striker has better mic skills.

As long as Striker doesn't use his weekly video segment as a promo against other wrestlers, I'm cool with it, and I look forward to the next episode.

If he continues like how JBL does his five minute commentary, then bring it on!

Cena has his five questions, Striker has his WWE 101, and JBL has his commentary...who else has these non-promo entries?

Wow, that is good. Add me to the list of people who enjoyed the segment, and I'm looking forward to more.

That was awesome. And I fully agree with him 100%. I hope this continues and moves to a bit edgy as the weeks go on.

This week: Matt Striker teaches us about "Immigration"

A little more heelish this time. But still makes points some of us might agree with.

Does this mean Striker/White/Nemeth is going to be some kind of middle class vaguely racist stable now? How many foreign/black faces do they have left to feud with before it gets too risky?

I agree with most of his stuff...but his Immigration comments strike a chord with me, as I live in one of the biggest multicultural hotspots in Canada.

I look forward to his commentaries, much like I do with JBL's.

EDIT: clarity is good!
