Jeter is a punk, but I've developed a grudging respect for him. The rest of the team can go for a swim in the Hudson River, however.
Hey, Mr. Angry, you need to pull a Jeter and try to look at this with "such calm eyes."
Seriously, I agree with everything you just said. The only time, the only time that I will root for the Yankees is when they play the Braves. God, I hate the Braves. Any team that has the hideous audacity to name itself "America's Team" can go screw. Which brings me to the next team:
The Dallas Cowboys. Yep, America's Team. Suuuuuuuure. Assholes. For all the crap about them being America's team, I've met five people who'd rather burn their stadium to the ground for every one fan of theirs that I've seen. Take out all the fans who hopped on the championship bandwagon in the seventies and early nineties, and I think there are maybe twenty naturally occuring Cowboys fans, and they all live in caves, can see in the dark and bleed pure acid.
Also, I have decided that I am America's Internet Writer. Wooo Wooo! Rah rah!
Originally posted by QuezzyWell I also hate the Yankees like most of you seeing how I'm a Mets fan. But I actually hate the Braves more. After all the Yankees beat us like six times a year, the Braves beat us like 20 times a year it seems. I especially hate Larry Jones.
Close second is the Seminoles.
As a fellow Mets fan I completely understand your logic, but regardless there is a special place in the pit of my soul reserved exclusively for hatred of the New York Yankees: for their overrated players, arrogant fans, and decrepit stadium. Oh, how I wish nothing but 100-loss seasons and endless suffering and misery upon all associated with that franchise.
The Braves are a *very* close second, granted, and if Larry Wayne Jones' arm fell off tomorrow I probably would not shed a tear, but their annual playoff chokes and complete lack of a fanbase provide me with a small glimmer of amusement. So the Yankees are #1.

Oh, and I hate the New York Yankees like every real American should.
Yeah, mark me down as despising the Patriots too (Mostly because of jealousy and them keeping the Steelers out of the Super Bowl).
I also hate Penn State. I like to watch them on tv just in hoping to see them lose.
And of course I hate the Yankees because their the Yankees (and probably because their payroll is about 6 times higher than the Pirates).

I'll leave out the teams that any good Packer fan should hate, because that's obvious.
NY Yankees. I don't even care about baseball very much, and I still hate the Yankees.
New England Patriots. I know, they're a really good team. And I'm tired of them winning. And I hate Tom Brady and his "male model good looks". Girls who don't know anything about football have heard of Tom Brady. It's ridiculous.
Football Factory Schools From Florida. This includes Florida State, University of Florida, and especially Miami.
Oh yeah, let's put Notre Dame on here. A once great school that will never be as great as it was (yet is still being treated like it's a big deal).

I'm jumping on the "I Hate the Yankees" bandwagon. Save Derek Jeter and the fact that I respect that he hustles and plays hard, I can't stand them with a passion. What thrills me most is that they signed Alex 'the jinx' Rodriguez. Personality-wise, he fits in with the team, but as a so-called world athlete, no team has won a Championship with him on the roster.
As a kid, I hated the Pistons because they were nasty and dirty players. Add the Lakers to that list.
Being from Central Jersey and less than 30 miles away from Philly, I'm thrust into being an Eagles fan. But I'm with StaggerLee here: "Thier fans/media are the most concieted, arrogant, douchebags ever." They are a lot to take and given the fact that none of their teams have won anything in over 20 years, they should let it up a bit.
As a Calgary-born Flames fan, I am bred to hate (in this order):
1. The Edmonton Oilers [Why: 25 years of inter-provincial rivalry; the 2. The Montreal Canadiens [Why: 1986 & 1989 Stanley Cup Finals] 3. The Vancouver Canucks [Why: 1984, 1986, 1989 & 2004 playoffs] 4. The Tampa Bay Lightning [Why: 2004 Stanley Cup Finals] 5. The Toronto Maple Leafs [Why: Because they suck!]
Every other team that is not on my favorites list in all sports but most specifically the following -
NJ Devils, NY Islanders, Philadelphia Fyers, Oakland Raiders, KC Chiefs, NY Giants, NY Yankees, Atlanta Braves, LA Lakers, Nebraska Cornhuskers, U of Penn, Williams College and the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame....
[Edit - as the mascot for the Colorado Rangers of the IHL (Circa 1987-88 season) - I taught the fans out in Denver the "Potvin Sucks" cheer - I was very proud of myself]
(edited by dunkndollaz on 11.9.05 1945) Now playing a Zone...
NBA - Indiana Pacers NFL - Green Bay Packers MLB - Kansas City Royals, Chicago White Sox NHL - Colorado Avalanche, St. Louis Blues College - Michigan, "Breathe if you hate" Duke, Hawaii
You have an enemy for life now I've hated Brisbane and Jason Akermanis since the 2002 AFL Grand Final.
As for the rest: MLB: The F'n Cubs. Overpaid team playing in a decrepit stadium in a cesspool of yuppie privilege, supported by a giant media empire that sells the mystique so they never have to win another game and no one will care. It's like visiting Jonestown right around Kool-Aid drinking time. Beyond that, I like all good folks hate the Yankees, and I'm enjoying the demise of the Twins.
NFL: I'm a Bears fan. Thus, I hate the Packers. Beyond that, I just want someone other than the Pats to win this year. And I hate Aaron Brooks and the Saints due to them ruining more fantasy games and parlay bets than I can count. Same with the F'n Jets.
NBA: After last postseason, I hate Gilbert Arenas and the Wizards. Before that, I really had no enemies.
NCAA: Duke and Notre Dame. I despise both of them just for being themselves.

Not trying to upset you or anything, but you sound just like a Cubs fan with that quote :-)
Considering I rooted for Walter Payton during his loan Super Bowl appearance (and attended his HOF induction), I can't really say the Bears. Gotta go with the Vikings.

Oh man, I have a special hate for him. Like I said earlier, I strongly dislike Duke. But not only did he play for Duke, he played for my high school's archrival so my hate for him is multiplied by a factor of something like a million.
Originally posted by AWArulz Those are the only NL teams I would root against in the WS, unless the Red Sox are playing. I would root for them. Cubs fans and Sox fans have an afinity - at the moment, anyway.
Really? I thought that the Cubs and the White Sox revoked Boston's membership from their "club" after what they went and did last year. ;)
College: U of Oregon Ducks. Maybe I could get behind them if I didn't have to hear about them anytime I turned on the radio or any channel in this town! I'm sorry Shep. I'm sorry.
Baseball: Dodgers, I am a Giants' fan, need I say more? Okay, the Braves and Yankees irritate me, I just hate the Braves with a mindless passion, and the Yankees are the friggin' Yankees.
Football: Dallas Crackheads, Packers, and the Falcons. I am a Niners fan, I have good reason to dislike these guys. Though with the Packers and Falcons, it's cause of their QBs, and the NEVERENDING slurpfest you hear from the announcers or sportswriters or whatever about said QBs. Someone mentions Favre, or Vicks name and those guys' eyes glaze over and they make a mess. Just... SHUT UP! Also the Raiders, but that's more the ownership rather than the team, and the shuffle down to L.A. and back.
Basketball: I am not a huge basketball fan... but... I hate the Lakers. Because at times they kinda remind me of the Yankees, and well that's good enough for me!

THANK YOU. The sweetest day of a 3-13 season - beating Denver at Mile-High on a Jerry f'n Kauric FG as time expired. Ahhhh...
My list for each sport in order of the Hate: NFL: Broncos, Steelers, Ravens, Bungles, Dallas, Bills, MLB: Yankers, White Sox, Twinkies, Marlins, Braves NBA: THOSE GODDAMN BULLS, Pistons, Pacers, Knicks, Nets, Lakers, Jazz NCAA: Michigan, Miami (FL), Florida State
