Well, last night I witnessed one of the best tennis matches I have seen this year. James Blake beat the almighty Rafael Nadal in 4 sets, and did it not because Nadal was bad, but because he played fantastic. He recently seems to be on a roll, and in this shape I could see him doing very well this year. A quarterfinal against Agassi could become a legendary match!

Well it is official now, Agassi vs. Blake in the Quarter Finals. Blake might actually have the advantage in this one because Agassi played a grueling 4th round match.

and even though his opponent is Agassi, I think that the crowd will be behind Blake when they take the court. His story is the kind that NY Tennis fans embrace and rally behind. Andre has had his time to shine in the spotlight but it's Blake's run now.

You JUST liked it?

It was incredible. I don't watch much Tennis either, maybe 2 matches a year(Venis at Wimbledon this year and this match), but I will definately follow Agassi on through after this display.

It was an incredible matchup. Blake was using his power while Agassi was relying on experience. There were too many turning points to remember. Each caught on fire and it seemed like it was over, but then the tables would be turned.

It was just a great sporting event.

That was one of the best matches I have ever seen. The ovation Agassi got when he was down 5-4 in the 5th set was louder than almost any wrestling pop I've ever heard.

God bless the men of 2nd Bn, 127th Inf, 32d "Red Arrow" Brigade, WI Army Nat'l Guard...good luck, and come home soon.

That late-night Agassi win was the first time I ever heard a Green Bay bar crowd pop...for TENNIS.

Hell, they even gave Andre props the next day on "The View." (It just happened to be on my TV, I swear.)

Tremendous match - the crowd was electric and turned slowly but loudly to Andre as the match progressed. One of the best US Open matches I have ever watched. Would have loved to see Blake win it though....

Guess I am the only one who was underwhelmed by the match. Sure, the crowd was unbelievable, but the match was way too fast, and there was no real tension in the first four sets. Service games were won in around 90 seconds, and after two hours they were in the fifth already. I preferred Ginepri - Coria definitely.

On the other hand, hats off to Agassi that in his biblical age of 35 he still has it to reach a Grand Slam final (I think it's a given that he will blast Ginepri off the court, and it's also obvious that he got no chance against Federer). I am sorry for Blake though, because this was his chance to make a BIG impression. Maybe he made it, it all depends on how he will go on from here on.

The match was great.

I have been impressed by all the Tennis this year, especially the womens. Watched Venus and Clijsters the other night. Watched Davenport and Dementieva too.

Womens semis today. Mens tomorrow along with womens final. Might never leave the TV this weekend...

Wow, a womens tennis fan. Hard to find these days. Any predictions on who might win the thing? I say that Kim Clijsters should make it. If she beats Sharapova in the semis, she should easily get through Pierce or Dementieva. Although I pray for a Dementieva victory! I really fell for her performances at the US Open this and last year. But she plays Mary Pierce, the player I absolutely despise and loathe! This usually means that Pierce will win:-(

Yeah.....much like last years final, and all the other matches before where Lleyton had no chance in hell to win.

Seriously, anything else than a straight 3-set win for Roger would be a surprise.

Speaking of surprises, Pierce beat Dementieva, now who would've thought THAT? Gotta go hang myself now....

I LOVE Dementieva, and I've hated Pierce since the first day I saw her play, so you can imagine how I feel about the crap that happened in that one.

The solice I can take from that was that it seems that McEnroe agrees with me, so at least one voice on CBS was not just congratulating her non-stop. He put the pressure on her during that live interview, but you could really tell from his comments during the Sharapova/Clijsters match that he wasn't happy at her (lack of) sportsmanship.

But like Dementieva said, that's how she plays, and that's what Pierce has to do to beat the top players. She tried it again with Clijsters too, good to see that it didn't work (and that the crowd didn't appreciate it).

I'll always be a Kurt Busch mark...so I'll hope to see him win. As for second...I hate to say it, but Jimmie Johnson will make it there. Third...? Tony Stewart. If Tony wins it, my co-worker will be happy.
