Speaking as someone who's read the Apter mags almost as long as i've been a fan(15 years) and has a brother who still buys them, that is definitely not the case. The PWI 500 is not about quailty of work or lack thereof. It's basically a win-loss ranking thing. Cheating or lack thereof is a factor, and there's definitely an American-based performer bias. But it's mostly about who's winning the titles and the big matches.

It's essentially a mark-mindset ranking.

So PWI rated all of those no-name dudes based on their win-loss records too? Damn.

Yeah, what Justin says sounds about right. I imagine it as kind of a keyfabe ranking. If wrestling were a real sport, this is how they would have ranked them over the past year, taking into account the difference in talent level and exposure between the various feds.

Who IS 415?

And where is Muta on that list?

Funny how the only top 20 guy I've seen live (Kojima) was a pleasant after effect of the Outsiders no showing.

I just did a search, on google, for the list on other sites. The list currently has the same "flaw" in it on other sites so I do not know who is missing in that spot or typo. We might eventually find out some time but for now it is a blank spot.

There are two 412s. Thanks to http://www.wrestlingworld.it/Extra/PWI500/pwi500.htm and the column format they have which made me realize that there were already 500 names on the list.

It's interesting to see that every copy of the PWI 500 on the net seems to have the same error. So every "news" site that listed this, except for the original one, plagarized from another source.

No, it being plagarized, that doesn't happen on the internet! ;-)

I went ahead and fixed the list. We now have fixed list. Might be the only ones on the net thanks to proof reading which at the time I posted didn't have time to do because Raw was about to start. THANKS Mr. Boffo.

Guess I'm not used to seeing those two names together.

Keiji Mutoh
or
Great Muta

No fair blending them PWI!
