Hey, I like Heatley but I don't know how you can say that this trade makes the Sens a better team in the immediate future. Heatley certainly could put up similar numbers to Hossa in the future, but in the NHL and international games Heatley has played since his car accident he hasn't looked quite like the Heatley of old. Meanwhile Hossa had a great year in international play and looked to be a very safe bet to be one of the league's top scorers playing with the Sens this year.
Now, in the long term this could be a winning trade for Ottawa. This trade frees up some much needed cap space for the team and Heatley could very well put up Hossa type numbers sooner or later, along with the fact that he has some more grit than Hossa. That all being said, it's still a gamble that Heatley can bounce back, against a safer bet in Hossa. When you throw in the fact that Ottawa also traded Greg de Vries (Who I thought was overrated but was still a part of Ottawa's defence) and if anything, Ottawa has gotten weaker in the short team from this trade, not MUCH better.
10 in a row.... not bad for a team that seemed down and out of it.... so what does everyone think of the blues chances now???? I AM THE BEST there is, was and ever will be!!!! Dont you wish that you were me??? no?.... i've got two words for ya!
