I was born in Simi Valley, California. It's the town only famous for the Ronald Reagan Library and it was the home for the first Rodney King trial. Woo.

Northampton, VA... a small town on the Eastern Shore which is surrounded by both the Atlantic Ocean and Chesapeake Bay. It's that little sliver of land that hangs off of Maryland. It's so rural that the hospital is the only one for 60 miles.
Once upon a time, a woman was picking up firewood. She came upon a poisonous snake frozen in the snow. She took the snake home and nursed it back to health. One day the snake bit her on the cheek. As she lay dying, she asked the snake, "Why have you done this to me?" And the snake answered, "Look, bitch, you knew I was a snake."
Moved to Nova Scotia when I was one-and-a-half. Twenty-seven-and-a-half years later, I'm still considered by many to be CFA (come from away).

Was that building in the same place that the maternity wing of the "IWK Health Centre" is now? I do remember when first built it was the "IWK-Grace" but I'm guessing the Salvation Army are no longer involved now.

Hey, my dad lives right around the corner from there!
From the story I've always been told I was almost born right on the 405 thanks to traffic.

Funny story my mom used to tell me. My birth mother was with her parents at Tampa International Airport getting ready to fly to New York. They had boarded the plane when my birth mother's water broke... about six weeks too early. They rushed her off the plane and I was delivered in a small side room of the Delta Airlines terminal. I was then taken to St. Josephs Hospital where I was 'picked up' by my mom who was adopting me from a much-too-young girl who's family couldn't handle having a child with a child.
To her credit, I understand that my birth mother decided to have me and not have an abortion because my father had died in a car accident and she didn't want his child not to have a life.
I'm thankful for this.
(This is about the most personal thing I've ever written... strange.)

I do (well, a different suburb of the same town), but did not live here between ages 5 and 22.
