Saw this on www.PWInsider.com.

Chris "Tatanka" Chavis posted the following yesterday on his official website www.nativeTatanka.com:

"So I was just offered a WWE contract. Stay tuned as I lose those extra pounds and get back to the old Tatanka that you remember!"

Wait, what? If this is true, it's pretty ridiculous. They just fired 20 guys they didn't need last month and now based on one nostalgia pop they might bring back Tatanka?

Tatanka was fun on RAW. I enjoyed seeing the old war dance, Tomahawk Chop and Papoose to Go as much as the next 30 year old wrestling fan, do we really need to see him around full time?

They could at least bring back Bobby Heenan on color to yell "Hit the deck! Indians!" when Tatanka hits the ring.

Am I the only oe who thinks it's funny that, even with Tatanka in his current form, he has a dedicated section to FITNESS on his website?

You know, I was thinking about "papoose to go" on Monday. I didn't hear any of the commentators say it, but I instinctively heard The Brain say it in my head when Tatanka went for it. What is that move's real name?
Kinda like when El Matador had "El Paso de Muerte" and The Brain called it the "Flying Jalapeno."

Papoose to Go is a Samoan Drop, a slightly less racist name. But whatever, wrestling is full of racially derived names. Irish whip. Indian deathlock. And so forth.

Unless it's 1 of those "legends" contracts (and it doesn't sound like it is), this is ridiculous.

"Irish" is not a race, it is an ethnicity, like Samoan.

Off topic...what was the one Heenan busted out at WM8? There was a word in the middle I can't, to this day, make out...he called it "extra hot ??? picante." It almost sounded like Pace, like the brand name.

I just hope it's a year contract where he only has to do a handful of dates on Raw and house shows but is free to work other feds. This way he will only be used for special occasions and that and won't use up other slots on the roster.

Hopefully it's just a legends kinda deal ... maybe a Heat jobber to put over guys like Rob Conway & Rene Dupree ...

Translation: "Upon losing the Brock Lesnar contract, Vince suddenly found himself down a few wrestlers and up tons of money marked for wages, due to recent mass firings of talent deemed 'too small', 'too overexposed', or 'too over with the IWC'. After thourougly contemplating this problem with his friends Johnny Walker and Jack Daniels, he struck upon the solution!"

Tatanka may be a bit overwieght, but he wasnt out of breath at all, and moved pretty good. Its not like he was struggling out there or anything. He still looked pretty crisp, all things considered.

Not that I want him back or anything, just saying.

I was getting ready to say the same thing StaggerLee said. Granted, It was only a 3 minute match and Tatanka's never been one to exude charisma, but he did look better than some on the Raw roster in the ring.

As a heel, Tatanka's finisher was called "The End of the Trail". I can't remember what the babyface version was called.

I've got to think this is the same kind of "contract" they've given in recent months to Roddy Piper, Jake Roberts, Paul Bearer, Superstar Billy Graham, etc. I mean, the guy wasn't *horrible* or anything, but I'm not sure he needs another shot in the big time after 10 years away.

Okay, I found my answer. According to his site, www.nativetatanka.com:

"Finishing Move: Tomahawk Chop & The Famous Fallaway Slam
Known As "The Indian Death Drop or Papoose To Go"

So apparently, it's really called The Indian Death Drop but the Brain's commentary stuck with a WHOLE lot of people.

I think it was still called "End of the Trail". Also, Heenan's translation of Tito's finisher at WM8 was indeed "Extra Hot Pace Picante".
