According to The San Francisco Chronicle they do. I first heard about this at work, and had been forgetting to dig it up so that my wife (who belongs to PETA and can be militant about animal treatment) could read about it. Having read the article myself, I'm just shocked, and honestly feel kind of bad for people like my wife who actually believed PETA was doing some good.

This is the first thing I've heard the PETA does that I agree with.

Any thinking person will eventually realize that PETA isn't about animal rights but has a much deeper agenda regarding all aspects of our life. I am sure there are many caring people sucked in by them but the leadership isn't as concerned about animals as they are about altering how we live.
Yeah, I saw quite a few articles about this myself. Made me extremely nervous about moving to Virginia Beach (where PETA is headquartered) with three cats.

Yes, because a person and a cat are entirely the same thing. The next time you see a homeless person, make sure to tell him/her that they are no better than an animal.
Look, I feel bad that animals have to be killed, really I do, but what else are we supposed to do? They aren't supposed to be running wild, and there isn't enough room to hold them all.
Don't blame PETA or the Animal Shelters for that. Blame the stupid people who refuse to get their pets spayed or neutered (Copyright Bob Barker), or the ones who decide that they don't want an animal anymore.

Wow. I know blaming Fox News for everything from global warming to the rising price of milk is the new hotness, but I didn't realize that I had to beat myself with a stick for giving Alan Colmes the benefit of the doubt.
