Dark Match:

*Tough Enough 3 winner Matt Cappotelli & Million Dollar Tough Enough finalist Mike Mizanin defeated The Highlanders.

Velocity:

*Frankie Kazarian pinned Funaki.

*WWE Cruiserweight champion Paul London defeated Nunzio.

*MNM defeated Scotty Sabre & Steve Lee.

*Hardcore Holly defeated Simon Dean.

Smackdown:

*Smackdown General Manager Teddy Long came out to announce the main event for Summerslam when JBL came to the ring and said that his contract stipulates he gets a rematch with Batista and that makes him the number one contender, not the Undertaker. Long announces JBL vs. Undertaker for later tonight with the winner being the number one contender to Batista's WWE World championship.

*Chris Benoit & Booker T defeated WWE United States champion Orlando Jordan & Christian when Benoit forced Jordan to tap out to the Crippler Crossface. Christian had the chance to save Jordan but instead walked out.

*Backstage Road Warrior Animal told Heidenreich it was time for the "next step" and began shaving his hair into a mohawk.

*WWE World Tag Team champions Road Warrior Animal & Heidenreich defeated Chris Hamrick & Chuck Tealy (name here may be wrong).

*Backstage, MNM announced they had hired a publicist (it was WWE developmental diva Jillian Hall). The publicist announced Melina vs. Torrie Wilson for later tonight.

*Rey Mysterio came out with his son Dominic. Eddie Guerrero came out and said that even though he promised not to reveal the secret, he lied. He reveals that he, not Rey is Dominic's father. Dominic hops the railing and runs away through the crowd, with Rey chasing him. Eddie says that back when he and his wife were separated, he "got a sl** pregnant" with Dominic, and he "out of the goodness of his heart" allowed Rey and his wife to adopt him because they couldn't have children. They played it off like more would be revealed next week.

*Melina (with Jillian Hall) pinned Torrie Wilson (with Candice Michelle) with her feet on the ropes.

*Backstage, The Mexicools are mistaken to be concession workers.

*William Regal vs. Scotty Too Hotty never took place as The Mexicools came out carrying concession items and attacked them both. Psicosis shoved the referee as well.

*JBL pinned The Undertaker to become the number one contender to the WWE World championship after Randy Orton hit Taker with an RKO.

Dark Match:

*WWE World champion Batista pinned JBL with a Batista Bomb.

Didn't the main event have the EXACT same finish about 6 weeks ago?

By the way, Storm's gimmick includes 1.) telling the audience to shut up, and 2.) occasionally making everyone stand for the Canadian national anthem. You know they don't know what to do with a wrestler when he's making fans stand for a national anthem. It's like waving a white flag and saying, "This guy has no personality -- we give up."

But ... did Jillian have a big mole on her face? That's the most important thing to know!

I can't believe they revealed the secret. That was a major selling point of the PPV, and they give it away free? What a joke.

How hard would it have been for Eddy to reveal the secret right after the match? I think it'd have more impact that way than waiting a week. Of course, I was at the PPV, so maybe I'm just jealous that they didn't reveal it there.

Wait, I thought on RAW they said the main event for SummerSlam was Hogan vs HBK. Did they just mean for RAW or is Long just talking about the main event for the Smackdown Brand.

Something I really would like to know since I am going this year.

This is symbolic of how much the WWE creative team and bookers suck so much right now. As per the angle Eddie signed a contract if Rey Mysterio won the match last night, he could never publically reveal the secret, but he does anyway. Doesn't that make him in breach of contract and couldn't it get him fired? What the hell are the consequences? Why does WWE even do those types of matches if the outcome is meaningless? And what was the point of Rey's winning if Eddie was just going to reveal it for free on Smackdown? And why reveal it on Smackdown for free if it was a big selling point of the PPV?

This is just part of why WWE sucks so much right now and is for all intents and purposes...garbage.

The worst thing about it is that the wrestlers are the ones that have to take the heat for the stupidity of the creative team.

And because they gave us a crappy ass JBL/Batista match at the Great American Bash...they are doing it AGAIN at the second greatest PPV of the year?

Why is it that it seems for every JBL main event world title match, they have to end it on DQ on PPV then do it again for the next one? I hate WWE.

BUT...it falls completely within the confines of what Eddie's well-defined WWE character WOULD DO. He lies, he cheats, he steals. He'd cheat to win the match...and even after he lost, he'd lie about agreeing to keep quiet and talk anyway.

I'm sure it's the Smackdown brand main event. I mean WWE has done some stupid things but I don't think even they would put this match over HBK and Hogan.

What's really ridiculous is that Eddie is a married man. He's been married longer than Dominic has been alive, and he has 2 daughters that are older than Dominic. And WWE already kind of revealed all this last year in storylines. So just to show you how inept and retarded the writers and bookers are for the show and how short term their memories are.

I find the most disturbing part of all that the part Animal makes Hawkenreich get a mohawk. He reminds me of the jilted lover that makes his new flame dress up like his old one (or perhaps that's just a Simpsons episode I'm recalling or something....). Forget rolling over; Mike Hegstrand just did an entire Doomsday Device in his grave. Ugh.

As someone who just attended The Bash in person, I'm a little peeved that the entire event there obviously meant nothing (Rey/Eddie, Undertaker/Hassan) in terms of stipulations. Then again, I'd much rather see Batista-JBL II then Batista-Undertaker at SummerSlam.

The only positive development to come from this? A potential Christian-Orlando Jordan feud. One stop closer to turning Captain Charisma face.... at least, I hope.

I remember it also happened on Family Ties when Alex tried to remake his date into his previous long-term girl. She left the restaurant after refusing to wear her hair the same way, and then they played the Billy Vera and the Beaters song again.

And just to make this wrestling related, I sincerely apologize to one and all if my Hawkenreich comments lead the WWE down this path.

Perhaps you mean the excellent episode of "The Critic" where Siskel and Ebert break up and Siskel takes on Jay Sherman as his new partner, making him dress as Ebert.

And that's how you narrate a story.

But Eddie apparently said he impregnated said slut while he and his wife were separated. And even if they weren't, what, no wrestler has ever cheated on his wife?

I totally saw this coming and, quite frankly (1), I think it would have been somewhat out of character if Eddie hadn't revealed the secret. The guy takes pleasure in causing Rey Mysterio emotional distress and is an admitted and proud liar -- so why wouldn't he?

Which was all a variation of the Hitchcock movie VERTIGO, where the detective makes over a woman into another that he is obsessed with.

BTW, "The Critic" was a great series.

Uh oh. Anyone else afraid of what the "more" could be? Paging Mae Young, you're needed to play a "slut mother." Seriously, are they going to reveal Dominic's mom too? Oy.

EDIT: Can someone explain how two different people can report the same incident so freaking differently? I mean, there's no overlap whatsoever in these two reports. It's either Eddie/Rey's wife or Eddie/third woman/adoption.

Because the whole stipulation of the match was that he signed a contract to never reveal it and he lost. Making that whole match and stipulation pointless. So what happens if Eddie loses the match and reveals the secret anyway? Is that not in breach of the "contract" he signed? What are the consequences?

Did they ever state anything along the lines of "If Rey wins, Eddie stays silent forever"? Or was it just "If Rey loses, Eddie reveals his secret"? It's a slight difference, but can be played as "I never said I'd stay silent if I lost ... just that if I won I wouldn't stay silent."

Then maybe Eddie is lying about this secret. It doesn't have to be (storywise) true for it to upset Rey's family, which may allow Eddie to think he got the better of him.

I'm not wild about this story because, well, just how does this get ultimately rectified in the ring? Does Rey beat Eddie to make him admit he lied about this? Does Eddie suggest a Who's Your Daddy match where the winner gets the boy? Do they take this to Jerry Springer or Maury Povich for DNA testing?
