Michaels, Theismann, Kolber, Tafoya to crew MNF

Sounds interesting. I'll be curious to hear Theismann without Maguire, who is going to the pregame show.

I'm willing to give that booth a shot. I like how Theismann will just blurt stuff out and sometimes he's not so polite about it.

Unlike the pieman, I see watching a lot of games with the TV muted and the radio turned up. I can live with ESPN staying home and taking part of the Sunday Night gang, but why did they have to take the worst part?

I guess Theisman and no Maguire beats Theisman and Maguire.

And we'll again have a familiar voice with Al doing MNF...justice indeed. The only thing that would have ruled more, was bringing back Melissa Stark...I miss her.

Two sideline reporters? Is this in case Joe is fired on-air and they need someone to hustle up to the booth quickly?

Matt Tracker: Great comix this week. But why not use the Trojan corner to feature the adventures Al Wilson?
DEAN: Al Wilson rides it bareback, my brother.
Matt Tracker: Waitress, I won't need this omelette after all, thanks.
DEAN: He's too much of gentleman to assume that the lady he is with would have a disease and he's man enough to raise any offspring that should arise. HE IS AL WILSON.

I can only dream.

This is awful. I'd pick Maguire over Theisman any day. But, I'd also pick Dennis Miller over Theisman. Speaking of which, whatever happened to Dan Fouts? I always thought he did good work, especially as a college football analyst. A Fouts/Michaels booth would work (at least for me).

Is it really that hard to find a decent analyst?

I THINK I heard Joe Namath mumbling something about a three-way...

I think the old NFL Films said it all for me on ESPN Classic this morning. In the middle of a follies video, they show the old footage of Theisman grabbing a phone on the sidelines and asking for pizza. Suddenly a voiceover and graphic announce the new show "Dial M for Moron." Perfect.

It is a good rule in life never to apologize. The right sort of people do not want apologies, and the wrong sort take a mean advantage of them.

Fouts is still doing college football for ABC, as he does the West Coast games with Keith 'I retired 5 years ago and still haven't left' Jackson. Solid color guy who got screwed twice in NFL broadcasting: first when he was starting to do well as the #2 color guy for CBS when they lost the NFC package in '93, and then having to get taken out of the MNF package to erase the memory of Dennis Miller and to bring in Madden.

People will buy parking passes so they can tailgate during the games...happens at Miller Park all the time. Just another example of how the Chicago Bears management secretly hates the goobers who follow them.
