Observing booking general rule #452 which reads "Before a PPV, if one of the participants in the main event is squashed by his opponent, said squashed individual will win the main event" I have an area of concern.

According to the Smackdown Spoilers, HHH leaves Hogan laying at the end of the show. This leads me to a couple of options:

1) Hogan will be the new Undisputed Champion and ride a nostalgia wave into retirement while still a face

2) HHH turns and joins the NWO who beat the daylights out of Hogan during a run-in (DQing HHH and giving Hogan the win -- not violating rule #452).

3) Hogan's "red and yellow run" was a ruse and the NWO interferes to give him the win over HHH.

4) HHH beats Hogan clean

5) The Smackdown spoilers were fake again this week.

#3 would be the absolute dumbest thing for the WWF to do ever. I won't even give it a second thought however, as there's no way the WWF would make up all this new Hulkamania stuff only to turn him back.

411 also posted the Judgement Day commercial which has the voice of the Undertaker south of the border claiming he is the "Judge,Jury and Executioner".

Make of that is you will and it sounds like UT will win at Backlash.

I could go for Hogtan/Taker. It won't tear the house down, but Taker has been on ~FIRE~ lately promo wise, and even in the ring. But the main reason I want to see it is to see Undertaker whup the holyshit outta Hogan.

Remember, Hogan has gotten back every loss he has ever had in his career. I think the only exception is Goldberg. I think Hogan will win at Backlash, meet Taker at Judgment Day and beat Taker to get back the loss at SS back in the day.

Nope, the story matches up with the official WWF spoilers (odd, ain't it?) from smackdown.wwf.com.
Then again it could all be a SHOCKING SWERVE.

Let's get rid of this whole notion that UT "owes" Hulk a win. He doesn't.

Five days after UT beat Hogan at Survivor Series '91, Hogan beat UT on "This Tuesday in Texas". Yeah, the title was held up by Jack Tunner, but Hulk DID pin Undertaker.

I think that the Hulkmania return will be made complete at Backlash (a title win and "Real American" playing as Hogan does the posing). If not now, it IS going to happen sometime down the line. I think if they are going to do it, they better do it quick before people grow tired of Hogan again.

Ok, this seems like as good a place to post this as any:

With the crowd lights turned off for Jericho's entrance, and the funky angled shot of Hogan reacting in the ring and the black ropes, I could have sworn I was watching Thunder there for a second. Truly scary moment.

Here's a thought, though. If Hogan wins the title, then he's on both Raw and Smackdown. Wasn't the WWF taking advantage of the fact that Hogan was working one less tv day a week to put him into house shows?

Feeble as this argument is, that's really the only thing I can point to that suggests Helmsley retains at Backlash. Og course, I'm biased, because that's the result I want to see...

Well, yeah plus on SD! Vinne Mac said HHH was "property of Smackdown" if he lost (way to stack the deck on the RAW brand Vince. SUUUURE this is gonna work.) having him join the nWo is kinda moot.

I'm not sure what purpose it's supposed to accomplish or why everyone seems so hot for it myself. HHH needs something, yeah, but the nWo sure as hell *ain't* it.

Of course, I'm not sure what a Hogan title reign would accomplsh, really. His pops are already cooling and is *anyone* looking forward to even a two week long Hogan reign?

I say have HHH go over Hogan and then for GOD'S sakes put him in a fued with someone who can work and whose body weight is 58% tits.

Do you mean the smarky smark smarks on this board and the rest of the internet or among the rest of the fans out there who are attending these live broadcasts/tapings/live events and going absolutely bonkers for everything Hogan does?

You're not alone. I was thinking the EXACT same thing. That shot of Hogan with the crowd completely dark is what did it for me. It kinda worried me that Smackdown reminded me of Thunder, if even for just a minute or two. But then I remembered that the lights were out because of an entrance, and not because the arena was only a third full.

Hogan's still getting the biggest pops each and every night. I know it's difficult for people to accept, but the reaction to Hogan is genuine. Who know's what the exact reasons are, but it is a fact. I would always prefer to watch Kurt Angle wrestle (suplexes for everybody), but I can't deny enjoying Hogan's recent run. I mean watching the Rock and Jericho sell a backscratcher like a barb wire chair shot is puts a smile on my face, sorry. HHH current run is so dull, I can barely watch. I've always felt he was the best classic heel since Bockwinkel, but his smirking face persona feels more dated than anything Hogan's doing. The "HHH Conquers His Injury & Adversity To Win the Title" gimmick had about a 1 week shelf life. Maybe it was all the B.S. with Stephanie that took all the heat off his WM18 match with Jericho (which should have been great), but this title run is going nowhere. Put the strap on Hogan.

Hulkamaniacs, first things first. I want to let Dr.Proper know. I want to let Dr.Unger know and Dr.Hughes know that the release forms have been signed. You guys are not responsible for the last couple fractures in the forearm brother. The main priority in the Yapapi Indian Strap Match is to have flexibility of the wrist, that you're strapped to your opponent with brother! Because, in the Yapapi Indian Strap Match, when you're in the 4 corners of the battlezone, the main priority is, is to get the body in the proper position for the strapation dudes! When I get Ric Flair right where I want him. When I get him out of wind, sucking air, sweating from head to toe. I will call to the strap master Jimmy Hart, on ringside, and I will say, "Jimmy Hart", at ringside, "give me Yapapi Indian Punishment Strap Number 1". And as I strap your body Ric Flair, as you scream to the heavens for mercy, and as see your skin start to bubble off your body. You will drop to your knees and say, "Please Mr.Hogan, please I can't take it anymore. Please, I'm sorry I crossed the line." And as I hear you beg for mercy Ric Flair, that's when I'll call to the Strap Master Jimmy Hart for Yapapi Indian Strappage Number 2. That's when the heavier belts will come out. That's when I will strap your skin and the flesh will bubble. That's when the flesh will start to peel from your hide. And as I see the raw, pink meat on your back brother, I'm going to take it to another level. I will transform from Hulk to Hollywood. I will double strap you with both fists and you will scream to the heavens, "Please Hollywood, don't hurt me anymore!" And I will never stop!

C'mon. It's a *qualified* bonkers if anything--SOME crowds go nuts, some don't, some are indifferent. It's FAR from a universal mandate.

Jesus Christ man, if Hogan's crowd reactions ain't universal, then I'd love to see the guy whose are.

On the subject of this Sunday, Trips will go over somehow, mainly due to the fact that he's already booked for the UK tour as appearing. Now, while they may play around with the matches, the WWF have never advertised a star for a Uk show only to pull him out. So I'd say that either Trips goes over, or Vince's prediction that Hunter will go to SmackDown is totally false.

His name is "Rock," perhaps you've heard of him. And before you bringup WM X-8, keep in mind: Canada is the Bizarro World of crowd reaction.

I could take or leave the Rock and Austin but they get the most crowd pop, and that INCLUDES Hogan's.
