X-E's co-Worst Poster of all time! JKyle.com says:

“Less talking more hitting!”

Good philosophy as the action cranked up tonight big time.

“Says you! I have a seat at the big conference table... I’m going to paint my logo on it.”

God in heaven was tonight a Flash tribute or WHAT?

Who took out the all powerful Branithor? Wally West baby!

I was disappointed he got knocked down by the beams (I believe my exact words were 'The hell? He's FASTER than light!') but then he vibrated through them bots and circled the earth to sped up until he could short out all the nanotechs.

In the meantime apparently kicking ass via inertia.

Speed force! By gawd! Speed force! Just when you thought the nods to the fans had overloaded they hit you with Wally vanishing and being brought back. Too bad the series never worked Linda in previously so she could pull him back.

The only thing that worries me is that a certain line of dialog hinted next season might not have Batman because of that other piece of shit cartoon. Hopefully it was just another innuendo between Bats and Wonder Woman.

If DC stole Bryan Singer Marvel needs to steal Dini or Timm. Good lord would I love to see the Marvel U get this type of treatment.

I post a new comic strip every Monday AND Friday. Please read kind sir.

I wouldn't worry about missing out on Batman next season. He's Timm and Dini's bread and butter and if the DCAU comes to a close in the next few years, you'd better believe Kevin Conroy's Batman will be there. He's been around far too long and deserves an amazing sendoff.

I remember when I started the Justice League thread at the end of last season, TheVile1 felt that the Flash had been pushed to the backburner and had become a nonfactor. Justice League Unlimited made up for that in spades this season, giving Wally his moment of glory and letting him save the day in a big way.

One of the big complaints I've heard about Bruce Timm this season is that he took the easy way out in relying on Brainiac to be the brains behind everything, but I've got to disagree. The fact that Timm took a seemingly throwaway moment from Superman: The Animated Series and turned it into a pivotal point in the entire DCAU shows a lot of attention to detail and continuity, which no one should fault. Not to mention that Brainthor made for a great final fight for the original seven.

Overall, for the whole season...

WHAT WORKED:
-Intense, intense, INTENSE action! Superman/Doomsday, Superman/Captain Marvel, the original seven/Brainthor, Galatea/Supergirl II. This season contained extremely intense action and it left everyone on the edge of their seats.
-The Question! The writers promised more time for the Question and they delivered more of what made him so great in his initial appearance. His spewing of inane conspiracy theories during his torture session was gold!
-Cadmus! I had huge doubts about Cadmus becoming a cliche storyline, but it worked very well. Batman's interaction with Amanda Waller was excellent and they played perfect foils for each other.
-Season-long storyline. One of my complaints about JLU turning from two-part episodes to 30-minute stories was the fact that they wouldn't feel as epic. This was remedied through the lingering, season-long story arc that built a lot of drama. One of the most intriguing aspects of this season was wondering whether Superman would really lose it and just go rogue. Brilliant storytelling!
-Task Force X! First of all, any team with DEADSHOT~! is already a winner. The idea, however, that the creative team would do this episode from the perspective of the villains was genius! Bonus points for using the original voice actor for the Clock King from Batman: TAS. Didn't think they'd still have him around.
-Green Arrow's final speech. What a way to end that episode! 'Nuff said.
WHAT DIDN'T WORK
-I suppose it would have been too easy to see Darkseid as being the force behind Cadmus, but it wouldn't have made it any less cool. Not saying Brainiac was a bad idea, but it just doesn't seem right to not see Darkseid as the ultimate puppetmaster.
-No sign of the "Avengers". While Shayera was an active member as part of the original seven, the tandem of Dr. Fate, Aquaman, and AMAZO were completely absent this season. More of a nitpick than a complaint, but they were a fun combination and it's a shame that they weren't around this season.

I won't call this the best season yet (Justice League Season Two still takes it by a mile), but this was a very strong season and shows that Bruce Timm and his crew are still going very strong and show no signs of slowing down.

And if you think tonight's episode was good, brace yourselves for next week's "Epilogue", which will effectively bring the "Batman Beyond" universe the proper ending it was always meant to have. Don't miss it!

Not to nitpick, It's False, but I believe the term you're looking for is actually "Defenders" regarding Fate and company.

On the episode itself, it was beautifully done, from the mark-out moments of just about everything Flash did, to a nod to all the Luthor-Braniac team-ups of the comics, to evil-Flash looking like Reverse Flash, all the way to a climactic ending. I had already read about what was going to happen, but watching it actually play out, I forgot all the spoilers and was just caught up in the moment.

While JL season two has many better self-contained stories, I think this season of JLU has shown a lot of progress (which is saying something considering the team's already amazing work) in writing, direction, visual style, and an over-arching cohesive plot for the season.

I was afraid this was going to be the last season, but we've got at LEAST one more. I hope this team gets to keep on doing what they do best.

I agree totally excellent episode. My favorite part was the delivery on Wally's "I'm gonna paint my logo on it!" I guess they didn't have much Flash in the earlier episodes because they knew how Flash-centric the ending was going to be.

As I said elsewhere last night, i would have marked out like a little kid if Wally had pulled Barry out with him.

I would need to do research on options for watching NCAA football and basketball games, NFL games, and certain NBA games online before I could live with something like this.
