Disney needs to be stopped. PETER AND THE STARCATCHERS is a Peter Pan redux, here's the plot " A modern 8-year-old Peter Pan leads a group of orphaned boys on the ship Never Land. Peter and shipmate Molly lead an effort to recover a trunk of magical starstuff, before it can fall into the hands of the pirate Black Stache." Why?

Brian K Vaughn's EX MACHINA has been picked up by NEW LINE CINEMA. Let's not screw it up guys...

Owen Wilson signed on for the SECRET LIFE OF WALTER MITTY remake. Good call on this one.

Also on the remake scene... SUMMER SCHOOL is being redone by Paramount as is WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE, an OH GOD! remake is due out next year from Warner Bros., VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA is coming to us from Fox, Disney is remaking ADVENTURES IN BABYSITTING which is a travesty cause the original was AWESOME!

There's a new Highlander coming our way, and his name is... Christopher Lambert? HIGHLANDER: THE LEGEND CONTINUES is set to start filming next month followed by two other films. 3 films over two years. Adrian Paul is also in the cast, which makes me happy!

Also on the sequel horizon... ELF 2, is set to roll by summer next year, JEEPERS CREEPERS 3 is filming now, MEET THE LITTLE FOCKER is getting rushed into production for a fall 2006 release, HOLLOW MAN 2 is filming now, ROADHOUSE 2 starts filming in about a month, FINAL DESTINATION 3 is just about finished for an early 2006 release, THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM is only in the scriptwriting stage but I fear it might get made to cause the public even MORE headaches, Maggie Grace (Kitty Pride) and Alan Cumming is gone from X-MEN 3 and STACY X has been added as a new character... dear god THAT is a horrible choice; why not add in Maggot while you're at it!

I guess I know what will be keeping me up late nights on Satellite in 2006 and into infinity . . .

It's actually a pretty good book by Ridley Pearson and Dave Barry. It's a kids book, but both Pearson and Barry are authors I like, and some of my students were reading it.

why do we get sequels to Patrick Swayze movies 15 years after the fact? More importantly, do we have a 'Point Break' sequel to look forward to?

And that's how you narrate a story.

I read this book to my 2 daughters (7 & 5) back at the beginning of the year. They absolutely loved it and I had fun with it too. It's a prequel to "Peter Pan" - there is nothing modern about it. My girls can hardly wait to see the movie. Ridley Pearson and Dave Barry are already at work on a 2nd "Starcatchers" book called "Peter and the Shadow Thieves".

Can't say I'm surprized about Alan Cumming not returning for the next X-MEN movie...I mean, he had a bit roll in X2...so what's a guy to do? They have so many characters to begin with. Wolverine, Cyclops, Jean...Rogue...

I know it's not mentioned here, but TRANSPORTER 2 is coming out, I know I'm excited about that. I ***LOVED*** the first one.

According to IMDB about a week ago, Brett Ratner has created his own character to be in the movie.

Ratner Spices Up 'X-Men'

Brett Ratner is spicing up the new X-Men 3 movie with the addition of his very own fantasy - a sex siren mutant who seduces her opponents rather than battles them. Ratner takes over from departing director Bryan Singer, who made the first two movies, and the Rush Hour film maker is determined to leave his mark on the comic book series. The new mutant has not yet been cast but unknowns Kate Nauta and Aya Sumika will reportedly audition. A source tells Pagesix.com the mutant will be, "An unbelievably hot and sexy hooker. Her super power is that she secretes a pheromone that helps her to seduce men. She can seduce anyone." The source adds of the auditions, "They are open to all ethnicities who are in their early-to-mid 20s."

So much of the story hasn't even been explained in the comic yet - including the overwhelming majority of what happened on 9/11 - and Vaughn doesn't seem to be in much of a hurry to get most of it out there, that I have no idea how they can make this movie without making it seem incomplete or pulling an enormous amount of it out of their ass.

I mean, it's not that I haven't been thinking that "Ex Machina" would make a fantastic movie since I started reading it, but it's way, way, way, way, way too early.

The character is Stacy X. She was a Chuck Austen creation. Serena and Venus Williams are supposedly gonna play her. (HA! I wish this was a joke.)
