Hey, I have a question for any W's that might be from up in Hartford. I'm going to be attending the University of Connecticut for my Ph.D., and I was wondering if anyone knows a good place to look for (cheap) apartments in the Hartford/Storrs area. Also, I'd be interested if anyone just knew anything fun to do in the area. Any help anybody has would be appreciated.

Fun things to do in Hartford:

1. Go to New York
2. Go to Boston

And that's how you narrate a story.

You could always vandalize Titan Towers by spraypainting 'You Screwed Bret' around the place.

NY, Boston, and Stamford are all on the eventual "to do" list, but they're all at least two hours away.

There's nothing exciting about Stamford. I lived there for two years and nothing exciting ever happened. I mean, it has bars and restaurants (if you want to meet Bobby Valentine, he's very often at his restaurant), but nothing exciting wrestling related. The Titan Tower is there, but it's just big and black and you can drive by and see a huge poster for the upcoming PPV.

I can't say much about Hartford. I went clubbing there and had a very memorable crap at Club Velvet, but that was pretty much the highlight of the night.

The great thing about Hartford is that you can get anywhere else in CT from there pretty easily.

You'll want to gamble. Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods are close by. I can't recommend one over the other, unless you want to visit the great museum at Foxwoods.

While you're down there, check out Mystic Aquarium or Olde Mystick VIllage. They're in Mystic. I've heard the pizza at Mystic Pizza is horrible, but you walk by and see the inspiration for the film.

You MUST go to New Haven and find Wooster Street. Pepe's Pizza is there, and it's the best pizza in the world. I've been to New York and Italy, and nothing stacks up. Brick oven, Neapolitan style pizza as you know it (thin crust) was not invented in Naples, it was invented here in New Haven. Ronald Reagan used to have this stuff flown into Washington, D.C. And check out Libby's across the street for fine Italian dessert.

If you're into any outdoor sports (kayaking, rock climbing, hiking), I can give you further information on those things, too. It's my job!

Hartford's got a Craigslist... most of the apartments are around, uhm, $600, I think.

And The Sham knows his shit when it comes to pizza. Sally's and Pepe's are essential.

I remember a bar called The Bottleneck (I think) in West Hartford, that was a decent place that I remember from my time there. Red building, many different brands of beer.

Also, south of Hartford is the Oakdale Theatre, which, if you are into live music, is a nice place to catch a show. I remember seeing Blues Traveler there.

Guys....... Saddam wouldn't be Megatron, Unicorn, or Galvatron. He's pretty low on the food chain. I'd say he's more at Frenzy or Brawl's level.
