"He is the most overrated piece of crap in the league. He bitched and whined after he got his ass beaten in New England last year, so the NFL changed the rules. Then he got his ass beaten in New England again. Every year he's the top MVP candidate. Every year he's supposed to be the best. Every year he's going to carry the Colts to the Super Bowl. And every single year he goes to New England and gets his ass beaten. And his brother's a whiny little bitch." -A friend of mine, on Peyton Manning
Batista over Trips Cena over Christian & Jericho (Cena gets traded back) HBK and Angle go to a draw Edge over Kane by DQ (either excessive aggression or a Matt Hardy run-in) Victoria over Christy Carlito over Benjamin
smark/net attack Advisory System Status is: Elevated (Downgraded from High; April 4, 2005) Batista & John Cena represent instant upgrades over their predecessors as world champions. However, there's still a general state of backlash around Cena and a specific state over the way he won (however misguided it may be), and the usual tag/cruiserweight complaints persist. The rematches should be interesting, however...
Kane in a rehab win Hunter wins the Triple H World Title back Carlito (is that confirmed?) Christy (is that confirmed) Shawn to get his win back Cena because they're idiots if they have him lose the strap

Well, actually, it looks pretty good, and its my first event that i go to. batista/hhh should be good, hbk/angle, a rematch of one of the best WM matches ever should be great, clarlito/benjamin, hopefully good, christy/victoria, ok, kane/edge, with maybe matt hardy coming back could be pretty good, and cena/y2j/christian should be good, so i dunno wat the hell you little asshole is talkin bout, but i'm looking forward to it, cuz i'm going, so yah, and as for predictions, i say, batista, then going to sd, kane, with him chokeslamming lita, hbk, benjamin, cena, and victoria.
-WWE Intercontinental Champion Carlito (Carribean Cool) beats Shelton Benjamin via pinfall at about 15:30. Semi-clean. I can't see them hot-shotting the title back & forth. Something crazy by Benjamin backfires and Carlito picks up the pieces for the win. -Christy Hemme beats Victoria via disqualification at about 5:30. Victoria completely outclasses Hemme and puts her in a submission, but doesn't release it and gets DQed. If there were any female faces left in the promotion, I'd wager that one of them would run in for the save. But there isn't. -Kane beats Edge via pinfall at about 18:00. Tons of Lita-ference, but Kane simply does his no-sell on everything. No Matt. -Shawn Michaels beats Kurt Angle via pinfall at about 22:00 Clean, possibly roll-up finish to keep Angle strong. -WWE Heavyweight Champion John Cena beats Christian & Chris Jericho via pinfall on Jericho at about 19:00. Jericho & Christian basically do the double-team for awhile and Cena's face-in-peril, but Jericho ends up turning on Christian and Christian ends up taking out Jericho (allowing Cena to get the pin). -World Heavyweight Champion (Dave) Batista beats Triple H via pinfall in Hell In A Cell at about 25:00. Lots of "I'm hurt, so I'll lay around" in this one. Tons of bells & whistles...blood, chairs, tables, etc. HHH actually hits the Pedigree but Batista kicks out. Batista Bomb finishes.
* Batista over Triple H -- I'm thinking Batista gets drafted to Smackdown this week, thus completely telegraphing the result * Michaels over Angle * Carlito over Shelton * Christy over Victoria, I guess (I didn't even know this match was happening -- or even, in fact, that they were feuding -- thanks to the miracle of DVR, which has allowed me to fast foward through all the angle development) * Cena over Jericho and Christian * Kane over Edge
Not only will I guess the winners, but Ill even go so far as to guess the order of the card:
Carlito beats Shelton via trickery.
Edge beats Kane after Kane tries to choke-slam Lita.
Michaels beats Angle, setting up a third match for Summerslam to blow-off the feud.
Jericho gets a pinfall on Christian win the belt, with possible interference from a vengeful Hassan to take out Cena. Jericho promptly gets drafted to Smackdown next week.
Christy beats Victoria via disqualification. After the match, Trish runs in to make the save.
Originally posted by TorchslasherTriple H over Batista. HHH drafted to Smackdown on Tuesday.
Cena over Jericho and Christian.
Carlito over Shelton.
Victoria over Christy.
HBK over Angle.
Kane over Edge via Matt-ference.
Final Prediction: I'll wait for the next ECW PPV to spend money on a WWE PPV, although I would love to see HBK/KA II.
You beat me to the Kane over Edge via Matt-ference prediction.
The rest of the card.....
Battista over HHH and gets drafted to Smackdown
Cena over Jericho/Christian
Victoria over Christy
Shelton gets the IC title back from Carlito
(edited by BOSsportsfan34 on 24.6.05 1744) "Since they filmed the football scenes so tightly (quick edits, no wide shots), there's no way to tell where Sandler ranked on the Realistic Athlete Scale (with Reynolds being a 17-out-of-10 and Tim Robbins being a negative-5). My guess is that Sandler was shaky enough that they masked his "abilities" in post-production, a strategy that Bill Parcells should consider with Drew Bledsoe this season"....from Bill Simmons column reviewing the new and original versions of "The Longest Yard".
Batista (World Heavyweight Champion) vs. Triple H (Hell in a Cell) - Though I definitely don't have low expectations for this match, I'm certainly not clamoring to see it either. It'll certainly be passable, however WWE has killed the Hell in a Cell gimmick so badly in the past couple years that its impact is almost non-existent. HHH wins to set up "unification" feud with Cena.
Kane vs. Edge (w/Lita) - Unless it's the most brilliant work of all time, Matt Hardy won't be showing up to interfere in this match. And I'm sorry, but why would WWE go to such great lengths to masquerade a wrestling angle as a real-life incident just to give Matt Hardy a pop? I mean I like the guy and all, but c'mon. The tease on RAW means nothing (see also: Eddy coming out to Austin's music after he was fired; the repeated Montreal references). Anyway, as for this match itself, they seem to be banking on Edge to be a top heel, while they don't seemingly have any plans in place for Kane at all. In fact, I wouldn't be entirely shocked if Kane was one of the two Smackdown picks next Thursday. Edge via HEEL SHENANIGANS~!
John Cena (WWE Champion) vs. Christian vs. Chris Jericho - This match just seems so haphazardly thrown together (albeit understandable considering the circumstances behind it). Christian, while I'm a big fan of his, hasn't really had any damage control done on his character since announcing this match to warrant him as a potential threat. They pulled the trigger on Jericho's heel turn early just to put in a former main-eventer with Cena, and the fans realize it. Again, it's forgivable considering that they had a champion come over with no contenders to build with and had to improvize, but c'mon. Does anyone think that Cena WON'T walk out with this title? I guess I could possibly see them putting it on Jericho and having him be one of the two draft picks for Smackdown next Thursday...actually, that's not a bad idea. Just because I think it's such a good idea, I'm going to go against my gut instinct here on the miniscule chance it happens and I can go "HA, I told ya so!" Jericho, takes the WWE title back to Smackdown
Kurt Angle vs. Shawn Michaels - Michaels seems impervious to damage from doing a job, so it'd make sense to put the newcomer to RAW over in this match. It'd make even more sense to have Michaels pull out a win, then play up the finale of the (best of three) series at Summerslam. On a sidenote, for some reason I find their Wrestlemania match pretty overrated. Michaels
Carlito (IC Champion) vs. Shelton Benjamin - I liked that they had Carlito play up the fact that his debut on both shows resulted in him winning their respective secondary titles. That being said, they have done absolutely nothing with Benjamin. Aside from being the Intercontinental Champion, the guy has had no character development or gimmick whatsoever. He's amazing to watch in the ring, but sometimes you have to make people at least care. Hopefully having him lose again here and chase the IC title this Summer will remedy that. Carlito retains
Victoria vs. Christy Hemme - I miss Trish. Christy
Predicted Heat match Hurricane & Rosie (WWE Tag Team Champions) vs. The Hearththrobs - Hey, remember those belts? Prediction - match probably won't even happen.
Overall, this card feels like it SHOULD look good on paper, but for some reason doesn't. I think part of it is the haphazard fashion in which it was thrown together due to the placement of the draft lottery, and also the fact that this is the THIRD pay-per-view in six weeks (if I'm not mistaken). Maybe I'm just burnt out on it, because for the first time in about four or five months, the local bar won't be getting my five dollar cover for this one.
