So, I'm browsing through my DirecTV guide this morning, and I come across a channel titled "REAL". Turns out, it's the FOX Reality Channel. Looks like they're running a Joe Millionaire marathon today, and I've seen commercials for a lot of those camcorder shows ala "Real TV", or "World’s Most Shocking Moments Caught on Tape".

I'm not a big reality show fan, but obviously there's a market for this. Anyone seen it? For those of you with DirecTV, it's on channel 250.

edit: Here's (foxreality.com) a link to the channel's website. They're showing repeats of Last Comic Standing? Sold.

Does this mean there might actually be repeats of "The Littlest Groom"? THAT'S entertainment! [/sarcasm]

At least they've given up on the idea that their news channel has anything to do with reality.

And that's how you narrate a story.

I thought I read at one point FOX, ABC, and CBS were all trying to get each of their own reality channels off the ground and going. But the problem they kept running into is say one network wanted all the reality shows they could get for their channel, even ones that were on CBS, FOX, etc but those networks didn't want to give them to another channel to air since they were starting their own, so neither network could get enough programming to start the channel. Although I cannot find the old article so I could be wrong.

Does the FOX reality channel have more than just FOX shows on it?

Edit: Never mind about the last question, looked at the website and looked up the info.

I noticed it whilst searching for something to watch yesterday. I'm hopeful that other network reality shows will pop up sooner or later (I'd really like to see VH-1's "Bands on the Run" again).

Any news on if Fox (or any of the competing networks) will pick up either Joe Schmo series for their reality channels?

I saw it an instantly had a cinematic "oh no. oh sweet Lord, no" slow-motion moments. I had a similar incident just last week when DirecTV advertised for a HORSE-RACING CHANNEL.

People people PEOPLE, stop the network insanity.

TVG has been around for a few years now and it rules.

What's wrong with Horse Racing channels? There's tons of tracks and races to be covered, and some people are really into it. It's no crazier than an NBA channel or an NFL channel, Golf channel, etc....

As you can tell, I happen to like horse racing.

Well it is nearly July 4th weekend, which is usually the last hurrah for summer. "Summer" movie season basically starts in May at this point, and August is usually the dumping ground for crap the studios have no faith in.
