A thought hits me and it comes about a day after watching the movie. One of the moments I would have thought was coming after the first movie never came.
I would have thought that Anakin would have taken out Watto at some point for the years of slavery and for selling his mother away. Not only did Watto not meet his end, but he didn't even appear at all.
Another thing occurred to me just now - in Episode I, Yoda was shown meditating and you could clearly hear a lightsaber power up and Qui-Gonn yelling, "ANAKIN! NO!" That never played out.

It was Episode II, and allegedly when Bail Organa interrupts Yoda's meditations on the ship Yoda was talking with Qui-Gon Jinn. Some stuff was apparantly shot, and cut, and will show up on the DVD.
Yoda is meditating, and the Force is speaking to him in the voice of Qui-Gon. Qui-Gon tells Yoda that he has discovered the secret of immortality through the Force, and offers to teach it to him. Yoda accepts Qui-Gon's offer, and at this point Bail interrupts.

Come on Watto was the best slave owner in the history of the universe. He let Anakin and his mom have a fairly nice house. He let Anakin build a robot from his parts and then keep it to help out his mom's house work. I mean if Anakin would have just been poor and working for Watto imagine how different the movie would have been. Then Anakin wouldn't have been an ungrateful little douche who left him mom in slavery and the Jedi councel who were too cheap to buy "the chosen ones" mother out of slavery. Then Anakin's mom could have stayed on her own free will and married Owen's father. I mean why answer all these little questions when you can take a half ass attempt at sympathy for future Vader?
Marge I am just trying to get into heaven not run for Jesus.
Anybody else notice that the table that Anakin was laying on when they were "remaking" him (you get a good shot of it form the overhead view) looked exactly like the Imperial Logo (starwarssource.net) (specifically the "inside" part)?
So are we to believe that it took them 20 years to build the Death Star?! I always had the impression that the Death Star was kinda' new in "Star Wars". Paraphrasing one of the jokes from "Clerks", I guess that's government work for ya'. Also, Uncle Owen didn't do DICK to his farm in 20 years. Lazy bastard.
I liked when "Order 66" was given, and we're shown all these different clone war battles. One battle looked like it was being fought in Dr. Seuss's Who-ville. A big war, indeed!
We never saw Mace Windu's body, so he could still be alive!!! Hey, if fanboys can pull up a Boba Fett resurrection out of their colective asses, I can beleive that Mace Windu, the Baddest MutherFuckah in the Galaxy is still out there. He'll be back for my Episode 7..along with his son, Doh-boi, played by Ice Cube.
Dumb luck for Lucas with R2's memory. Correct me if I'm wrong, but in one of the final scenes, Obi-Wan gives the droids to Capt. Antilles and orders ONLY the protocol droid's memory erased. R2 remembers everything then! Everyone in the original triolgy just probably thought he was insane. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but if you re-watch Star Wars (episode 4 for your hardcores), Leia just gives R2 her recorded message and the Death Star plans. R2 knew where to find Obi-Wan. Which explains the bickering about directions between R2 and 3PO in Epsiode 4. It's well-known that Obi-Wan knew ALOT more than he was letting on in Episode 4 (including recognizing R2 and 3PO). I doubt Lucas planned that, originally, but I like how it worked out. And oh yeah...toldja so, three years ago
If they're supposed to be HIDING the twins and being INCONSPICUOUS about it... who's the numbskull who decided to keep Luke's last name of "Skywalker"?! Gee, no way Darth Vader would EVER think of going after someone with the same last name.
I sat through the cast list, but didn't see James Earl Jones listed. Did he contribute to the movie?! Vader's voice sounded a little...different. Either Jones's "Vader voice" has changed with his age, or else they got a cheap knock-off.
The first 30 minutes were filled with too much cutesy crap. Especially R2's antics and the cutesy little bug droids that attacked the fighters. All the droid trooper dialogue was weak..they came off like Smurfs with stuff like "oww" and "watch out". They were supposed to be the bad guys? I also wanted to go at least 3 minutes without R2's annoying "weeeeeeeooooo" beep of exclamation.
Crowd popped when Yoda walked into Palpatine's office and took out the two guards easily.
At the end, when Padme decides to fly to Hot Flamy Planet to save Anakin.. "I must save him! We must hurry! But first..I must take time to change my outfit, put on go-go boots and braid my hair!"

That stood out for me as well.
I asked a similiar question about Luke and not changing his name in another Star Wars thread here. The response was that the Empire didn't have much of a presence on Tatooine so there was no fear of discovery.
However, after seeing ROTS, I think it goes beyond that. At Padme's funeral, she appears to still be pregnant. Perhaps everyone is led to believe that she died prior to giving birth, so there are no twins to look for. Just a guess.

Yeah, I was hoping to see his name, too. Unfortunately, it was an uncredited contribution, according to IMDB.

HI-larious. I tried, but could not get into Sam Jackson as anything other than Jules when seeing him onscreen. If Palpatine had said "What?" in their battle, I think I would've lost it.

I think the more glaring error is that the Jedi didn't think Vader might think to check out if his kid(s) ended up on his home planet with his relatives. Maybe they figured that he'd never think to look in such an obvious place.
edit - crap, I forgot about Owen & Beru's last name. Oh well.

Plus, nobody outside of Bail Organa, Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi and the OB-GYN droid knew that there were twins in the first place, so Vader would've been looking for just one kid...if at all.
The more I think about that ending, the more I want to see an episode 3.5 or so. Just to connect some of these loose dots that are hanging:
a) R2 couldn't have known where Obi Wan lived on Tatooine because Obi wasn't living there the last he heard from him, right? That means that Obi must have kept in contact with Bail, and Leia told him where to go when giving him the message, right?
b) Anakin must have told Obi about most of what happened on Tatooine, as Obi wasn't there for episode II. Obi doesn't meet the Lars' until he shows up with Luke. I agree that it was dumb for the Lars to not flat out adopt Luke, but given that they would have to choose between giving him the name of a semi-despot, or naming him Luke Lars, I can't say they chose wrong.
c) In Episode I there were issues where the Council commented that Anakin was too old to begin the training at the age of 8. Obi Wan (assuming he was watching Luke through his youth) had to know that he was strong in the force well before Ep IV. Why didn't he try to teach him before that? (Maybe he did and the Lars' blocked, which could explain/relate to their distrust of him in Ep IV?) Especially given that Luke was their best shot at defeating the Sith, why did he sit around on that? (For some reason, I imagine Obi Wan parenting from afar and helping Luke out like Leela in the flashbacks from the episode of Futurama where she finds out her parents were mutants.)
d) I could see Chewbacca noting that Obi Wan was a jedi and asking him offscreen in Ep IV if he knew some little green guy named Yoda or something, and Obi Wan commenting that he went into exile and hadn't heard from him since. That would be about the end of it.
e) Obi Wan and Luke are lucky that Vader never decided to go back and visit his mother's grave.
edit: f) I don't know where I picked this up but there seems to be a theory that Qui Gon posthumously communicated with Vader and taught him how to join with the Force. I don't know if I put alot of stock in that, but it is an interesting theory to explain the end of RotJ.

That also could go along with the arrogance of the Jedi: The one Jedi who didn't get trained from a very young age is the one who slaughters most of the Jedi. Let's start training his son at twice his age. That should work great. And, shouldn't Yoda have been given one of the twins to train? Obi-Wan's record as a trainer was Vader, not exactly a good track record. Yoda was the one who instructed the little children. Sure, either Luke or Leia would have grown up talking like an idiot 'Rescue You, Here I Am', but it would have made more sense.
Now, RSN's Defense of the Empire: Why is the Empire such a bad thing? In the Republic, an imbecile like Jar-Jar can have a Senate seat due to the Senator fleeing and destroy the Republic. What type of government is that? And, as a parent, isn't an Empire better than a Republic where your child has to sell deathsticks in order to provide extra income for the family to support building such things as a Jedi Temple and Light Sabers? For some reason, Yoda doesn't appear to be working on the side at Burger King in order to help finance the Jedi: 'Enter no, Fear Restroom Flooded'.

To be fair to Obi-Wan, Count Dooku was once Yoda's padawan.
He was a popular attraction until he choked to death on a corn kernel.

To review:
-Everyone's trained by Yoda as a youngling, then they're handed off to a different Master to become their padawan. -Count Dooku's padawan was Qui-Gon Jinn -Qui-Gon Jinn's padawan was Obi-Wan Kenobi -Obi-Wan Kenobi's padawan was Anakin Skywalker
Yoda didn't get much, if any, direct training time with Anakin, since he was skipped directly to the padawan stage due to his age. THAT could be seen as the difference-maker.
An entire clone army had been secretly created for the Republic, by decree of a late Jedi, Sifo-Dyas. None in the Council knew of this development, nor had they foreseen it. Further investigation revealed that the Separatists were gearing up for war. Count Dooku, one of Yoda's former Padawans, was consolidating a military force out of the droid armies of the commerce guilds. Something needed to be done.

And now we officially get the main cast, as it's a great Dr. Venture episode. Henry Killinger was one of my favorite additions to the cast last season and his twisted Kissinger/Mary Poppins persona paired with Orpheus's rambling was just awesome.
