Can instant message conversations be found on hard drives, if they were not saved (via right clicking and choosing "save as")?
If so, how difficult are they to locate?

Thanks.

Unless you've installed the Google Desktop, no.

I know Yahoo will auto archive Messenger convos if you have the preferences set, but you can only read them back through Messenger, try opening them in Notepad, and it's just a bunch of garbled characters.
But from messenger, you can save previous convos into text files.

Aim has logging options. You'd really need to say

1) which type of computer
2) which messenger
3) which version

and any other information, like if you had logging turned on or not.

Willful ignorance of science is not commendable. Refusing to learn the difference between a credible source and a shill is criminally stupid.
