I remember reading all of the articles on the sheets the day after Owen died, just stunned throughout the whole day. I missed the PPV because of some earlier committments. My good friend, RawLo, and I talked about Owen the whole day at work, what a great performer he was and seeing him in shows at the San Diego Sports Arena. Then, watching RAW that night, I found it hard to contain my own emotions. It was such an emotional night for everyone. The wrestlers crying on the ramp. Jeff Jarrett talking about his closest friend, tag partner, and travelling companion, and then winning his match with the Sharpshooter... HHH losing it talking about what a good man Owen was... Benoit with the black "Owen" armband on Nitro... Mark Henry's poem... My brother and I were on the phone, talking about Owen and a friend of ours who had tragically died a few years earlier in an accident, then JR and Lawler closed the show. When Austin came to the ring, you could see the sadness in his eyes... he opened the beers... (sniff)...
RIP Owen... six years later, we still miss you.

I just finished watching the Benoit/Hart tribute match on Benoit's DVD last night. I still tear up thinking about Owen. I grew up watching him on Stampede Wrestling every Saturday. He is still missed.
Are you ready for Mahkan-mania to run wild all over you?
When Lawler Jr came out, all I could think was how much he looks like he should be a Dusty Jr. Which led me also to think that the current Rhodes Jr looks way more like a potential Lawler Jr than a Rhodes.
