For the record, only ONE Brabham Cup winning team (best regular season record) has ever won the Reilly Cup/Kelly Cup. That was the 97 South Carolina Stingrays.
Also have to make a plea for some respect for the 1998 Kelly Cup Champs, the Hampton Roads Admirals, who won as a 16th seed, winning every series clinching game on the road, including a win in Roanoke that saw them score two goals in the final minute of play for the victory.

The champions from the WHL, QMJHL & OHL will join the London Knights in the annual Memorial Cup tournament to declare Canadian major junior hockey champions. If London wins the OHL Championship, I believe that the runners up will join them in the tournament, since London's in no matter what.

You are correct, sir...both teams are in the Memorial Cup finals, so this series is just for pride and the OHL title.
BTW, my hometown is absolutely RABID in anticipation of the Cup coming to town. Everyone is obviously cheering hard for the Knights, but we're also kinda hoping Rimouski gets in so we can see Sid Crosby first-hand. GO KNIGHTS GO!
(edited by Big Bad on 1.5.05 1303) So there I am, in Sri Lanka, formerly Ceylon, at about 3 o'clock in the morning, looking for one thousand brown M&Ms to fill a brandy glass, or Ozzy wouldn't go on stage that night. So, Jeff Beck pops his head 'round the door, and mentions there's a little sweets shop on the edge of town. So - we go. And - it's closed. So there's me, and Keith Moon, and David Crosby, breaking into that little sweets shop, eh. Well, instead of a guard dog, they've got this bloody great big Bengal tiger. I managed to take out the tiger with a can of mace, but the shopkeeper and his son... that's a different story altogether. I had to beat them to death with their own shoes. Nasty business, really, but sure enough I got the M&Ms, and Ozzy went on stage and did a great show.--- Del Preston

Well, the Knights took the first game. It took them until OT, when given how they dominated play, it should've been over by about a score of 7-3. London really needs to work on their power play, it's their Achilles heel. Starting Dennis wasn't a great move either, though he did improve as the game went on.

The Trenton Titans went into Florida and took the opening 2 games by scores of 7-0 and 2-1. I was hoping to go to Game 5 a week from tonight but that game may never be played.

Memorial Cup tournament game 2: Ottawa's goalie stands on his head to help the 67's earn a double overtime victory over Kelowna.
AND, that London-Rimouski game was just excellent! I sure do hope the finals of the tournament is a rematch. Great hockey! At this moment, I'm not missing the NHL one bit.

The Memorial Cup Tourny was great, fantastic goaltending from the 67's....the fall of the defending champs, Sidney Crosby's one line team, and the London Knights. Probably the best junior team of all time, but jeez, could Corey Perry dive anymore???? I lost all respect for that guy.
Yeah, well, after Perry got punched straight in the face AFTER THE PLAY by some Rimouski jobber who only got a minor penalty, excuse Perry for deciding to embellish.
Richmond Street was wild last night with a nonstop party in honour of the Knights. It was great to see the whole city step up in support of this legendary team, and frankly, London did better than I thought in hosting the Memorial Cup. All hail the best CHL team in history!
"You can look the other way once, and it's no big deal, except it makes it easier for you to compromise the next time, and pretty soon that's all your doing; compromising, because that's the way you think things are done. You know those guys I busted? You think they were the bad guys? Because they weren't, they weren't bad guys, they were just like you and me. Except they compromised... Once." -- Jack Bauer

Ahem, that Rimouski jobber, happens to be a prospect for the L.A Kings.
Perry is a great talent....but he spends more time on his back, or whining to the refs then Crosby does...
and with 5 goals in the 3rd period last night at the Sovereign Bank Arena - the Titans take a 3-2 lead back to Florida.....
and on Wednesday night in front of 7,805 Florida fans - the Trenton Titans put away the Florida Everblades 4-1 to win the 2005 Kelly Cup !!!
