I never said Matt didn't get a bad deal, but I do believe the chanting fans, or at least a large part, just want to show their smarts. Why ruin a good match with a Benoit or Jericho, for the fans at home and the other fans in the arena. It's a definite distraction for Edge's opponents, instead of getting a big pop for a good move it's in the middle of a Matt Hardy chant, how's that feel to the guy in the ring busting his hump?
Who is this Matt guy anyways and how did he become worth all this discussion? Is this the guy from the Hardy Boys? This can't be the "One and Only" Matt Hardy. Wait......the One and Only? Doesn't quite fit, does it?
The only thing I ever liked about the guy was his Titontron that came along with the the V1 gimmick. Sure, he was part of a great tag team. Sure he did......uh.. ....any help here?
My first Jake "The Snake" memory; Wrestlemania II: Jake the Snake Vs. S.D. Jones. and now I ask who the hell is S.D. Jones and why did he get a PPV time slot?
He only put his body on the line in all those TLC matches and was a company man, never missing a show or causing a problem backstage. He also made Vince and the WWE a ****load of money along with Jeff. He was one of the few people left in the business that had a genuine passion for the business that you cannot teach anyone.

You want to talk about distractions and disrespecting the guys in the ring, it begins and ends with "WHAT?"

You beat me to that comment TP.....I totally agree.
BTW, I'm kinda shocked a really good "SLUT....SLUT....SLUT" chant hasn't been aimed at Lita yet. That used to always be a crowd favorite towards the female heels.

The "What?" chant are really F'ing annoying me. I can only imagine what it's like for the performers in the ring who have to work around the stupid fans whenever addressing something in the ring. When Austin is around OK fine...that was his thing, but it's seriously annoying when Austin doesn't use the phrase anymore, or is even on the show.
I think it seriously does depends on where the event is coming from though. I attended BACKLASH in New Hampshire, and also RAW in Boston, and don't remember any "WHAT?" chants at either event. Of course we had the ever popular at any gathering in Boston... "Yankees sucks!" chants. That's just as equally annoying, and I'm a Sox fan.
Of course as expected there were the "We want Matt" chants when Litas was in view, and it's a recent topic as expected.

“The One And Only” gimmick was Billy Gunn’s, when he was “The One Billy Gunn.”
And yes, not many tears were shed with Gunn’s release.
As for what Matt did: he was largely an entertaining heel character on Smackdown following the Hardy Boyz breakup. After jumping to Raw, he kinda got lost in the shuffle a bit. He didn’t get nearly as much mic time, and was generally used for squash matches along the lines of what Simon Dean is doing now. However, he was largely considered to be a talented in-ring performer.

He had been expected to return to the company this summer, particularly after his webmaster posted a series of ROH dates (that were quickly removed) several weeks back.
In his return, Daniels will be facing the debuting Matt Hardy on the event, in Hardy's first official independent wrestling match after his release from World Wrestling Entertainment.
