No time for a proper write-up, just some quick comments...
Constantine deserves to go home just for the ridiculous eye-liner and I'm tired of his "I last showered on Friday"-appearance, but Mrs. JJD thought he was very good.
Carrie was quite good doing "MacArthur Park", but the band was too loud compared to her vocals.
Scott wasn't very good.
Anthony was surprisingly good.
Vonzell was treated like another singer of a girl group. When did backup singers become necessary? Or even wanted? They dominated a lot of Vonzell performance, but she did well once she was heard.
Anwar was typical for him, a slow start and pick it up toward the end. Rinse, repeat.
Bo seemed to get a break being able to sing "Vehicle", with the theme of "'70s Dance Music", but he was very good.
I'd think the bottom three should be Anwar, Scott, and Anthony (though if I were being honest I'd say "Carrie" instead of Anthony) with Scott going home this week.

I think Carrie is a great singer, but I have a problem in that she has the SAME facial expression no matter WHAT song she sings--she's totally emotionless.
Scott and Anwar MUST go.
I *really* want Bo to win.
We need another R&B singer like we need another James Brown sample...
anyone watching the wednesday night idol in the east coast? please post a little recap for us westerners. namely the bottom 3 and the person going home. thanks!
HOW DOES SCOTT continue to escape sweet, sweet elimination? Who is voting for this fat motha....
Uh. Atleast Carrie is still in.
I think it's going to end up being Carrie, Bo and Connie as our last three.
Connie scares me. All the little girlies seem to like him.

JJD with the correct bottom three prediction! Nice job!
I have been a big fan of Anwar since early on, but he was ready to go. I liked that he took it like a man and didn't get all blubbery and teary-eyed.
Judging by crowd reaction, it appears that the final four will be the four highest vote getters this week. I thik Scott and then Anthony will be the next two eliminated.
Simon is dead-on with Scott--people like him becasue he is SO ordinary. There's no "you can just SEE the star in him juuust below the surface" about him. He's your avergae Joe who has made it thus far. I think his singing isn't the greatest and he has exposed his lack of range--he can't do low octaves and his falsetto is very pitchy--but people keep on voting for him.
I'm glad Anwar was voted off--he had zero personality and edge.

I'm glad somebody else noticed his freaking make-up...
I thought Anwar had one of his better weeks this week. I'm not sad to see him go, but I thought that Scott deserved to go more.
I have never been a fan of Vonzell, but that's two weeks in a row she has imprssed me (despite the noted backup singers).

I was actually very surprised that they let that through with the theme, but he did one hell of a job with it for sure.
I complained to another Liberal friend about some of the Left’s tone concerning the 2004 elections. I thought it insulting to hear those “red state” voters caricatured as red-necked rubes. My friend asked, “Well, don’t you think that people who live in large urban areas, who travel and read and speak other languages are better able to make informed choices?” It turns out it is superiority, not familiarity, which breeds contempt. - Pat Sajak
I knew Anwar was in trouble the second he didn't even attempt the high falsetto notes in "September" - if he hits them he stays.
The fact that Scott lasted another week is still mind-boggling to me but less surprising - if the voting was for who you want to see go instead of who you want to stay, he would have packed his bags many weeks ago.
Carrie & Bo both moved up a notch in my eye by actually playing an instrument. Carrie is a lot more attractive when she keeps her hair plain and doesn't go for the "Barbie Big Hair" look.
Connie creeps me out with his facial expressions, his mannerisms and now his eye make-up. Cingular must love him though because you know that the teenyboppers girls are burning up their cell phones texting in their votes for him.
The producers are silently praying for Carrie vs Connie in the finals - it would be Kelly vs Justin V2.0

I dunno about "praying for Connie to make the finals". The main problem with Connie is -- what kind of an album do you build for him? He doesn't really fit into any major genre very well. Adult contemp. miiiiight work, but that's a big stretch. Really, the most "at home" performance he's done so far was Bohemian Rhapsody. And there's not too many bands like Queen out there . . .
I agree with everyone else: Killa should have gone home ages ago . . . but Anwar was a weak link too. Anthony (dare I say it) is growing on me at this point. But he's not in the same league as the Top 3. Horseface has an amazing voice . . . but she's just so damn generic. It's like this great voice devoid of all personality.
And for the Top 3, it's anybody's game from there. I think from this point on it's all about song selection. So Bo, less Jim Croce, more Ides of March. Please.
I don't watch the Wednesday shows because I'm at work, and I don't see the point in taping it only to fast forward through 25 minutes of show just to get to the bottom three and the winner loser. I usually end up calling my sister to get the results.
That group sing-song last night may have been the biggest trainwreck in "Idol" history. Egads.
Yeah, Vonzell's Horseface. And you are spot on about the sing-along. I know Anwar's a music teacher and all, but I've seen Muppets that play the keyboard more convincingly than him.

Dr. Teeth is your keyboard GOD, dude. Bow Down! Bow Down! I say. The Muppet Show band is probably the most under-rated band in TV history. Everone focusses on Animal who despite being blown off the stage by Buddy Rich was the howling heart of the band, but that entire band had chops. To this day I prefer the Muppet version of "My Guitar Gently Weeps" if only for the ad-lib where Sgt Floyd Pepper comforts his guitar at the end of the song.
(The other classic Muppet ad-lib is also for a Beatles song when Janice's version of "With a Little Help From My Friends" ends with the line "Somebody stole my lunch!")
Oh and I don't usually comment on AI because I don't watch it that often and when I do I find that the contestants stick too closely to the original version of the song... or that the only change is that they try to Diva it up by adding vocal embellishments which is almost as annoying. My preferences to covers runs to the Gypsy Kings version of "Hotel California" or Tracy Chapman's version of "House of the Rising Sun" which completely transforms the meaning of the song and makes the song better and much more meaningful.
Also, I end up siding with Simon 99.99% of the time which leaves me feeling old and mean. Like Simon, I thought that only Bo was any good this week, with Carrie a distant second and the rest in the discard column. That said, I would have trashed Scott, the Insipid White Russian or Vonzell before the Music Teacher.
