Great episode this week. The Jim/Pam/fiance triangle rocks, and is nicely built up. Also, Carell was ON this week.

And next week, US Rachel seems to be arriving...

Yeah, is it US Rachel or US Donna? Or are they conflated?

I also thought it was great. I'm really starting to like Jim and Pam, and last week Dwight won me over. He is better at hiding than they are at vision. Carell is outstanding, although as of yet he's nowhere near as likeable as David (somehow) managed to be.

I liked this little gem from Michael on Jim joking about being a cheerleader.

"I bet you would, just try not to be too GAY on the court! And by gay I mean, ummmm, you know not in a homosexual way at all. I mean the bad at sports way, I think that goes without saying."

I might be alone in thinking this? But it seems they're trying too way way way too hard with the Jim/Pam/fiancé triangle, which really bashes me over the head with SIGNIFICANCE more than Tim/Dawn/fiancé ever did, with its sublety and poignancy and whatnot.

That being said, I don't totally HATE the U.S. Office, which is I guess a Simon Cowellian complement.

The U.S. Tim makes good "we're in on this together" faces at the camera, I'll give him that, but he is no Martin Freeman.

Tremendous show this week...I'm impressed with some of the basketball players. Did Michael sink a single shot when the net was at regulation height?

I'm really digging Pam's character...and even the background characters are showing, well...more character this week.

Also, in response to my question last week: they are continuing the downsizing storyline, and I'm hoping it's Pam's fiance. :-)

Geez, this show is great. But is it only going to be 5 episodes this season?

Next week's episode was advertised as the season finale.

You are right, Kimothy, but it doesn't bother me that much because Tim/Dawn is one of the most perfect things ever conceived, so despite not coming close to that, Jim/Pam is enjoyable simply by being pretty cute.

Maybe someone forgot to tell them you do more than six episodes per season here in the colonies.

After how Coupling worked out, NBC decided to only order six episodes for the first season and decide on next season from there.

So is this show doing decent in the ratings? Enough to bring it back next season, maybe?

I would love to see more Office next season. I really enjoyed last night's episode. Michael Scott still doesn't seem as likeable as David Brent, even at this early point in the series. His stretching exercise was one of the funniest and ugliest things I've seen on TV. I'm warming up slowly to Dwight, especially after last week. Pam speaks in an annoying way, but she has great nonverbal reactions to Jim. Speaking of which, he is doing a great job with the love triangle.

They didn't advertise that, at least out here. I hope they'll show all six episodes again over the summer.

Ugh. Only 6 eps. Tuesday was turning out to be my best TV day. With American Idol, Office, and One Tree Hill.

I hope it comes back next season. But, i'm a curse for new shows.

I loved, LOVED Life as We know it, and it got killed after 11 eps. Haven't heard if Committed will return? And is Scrubs in any trouble?

Either Jeff Zucker or Kevin Reilly are fans of Committed, so there's a chance. Jennifer Finnigan is doing an ABC pilot, but Futon Critic said that was just contingency and that Committed was the priority. I won't exactly miss it if it's gone, but I'd keep it if I were the Peacock - it beats everything running 8p to 9p eastern on Thursdays at the present.

TV Tattle linked a story today where Scrubs is losing a regular cast member - I'm guessing it's probably Carla or Elliot (implied big; I can't imagine it being Turk, and Braff MUST STAY.) So it's probably safe, especially if NBC wants to establish an hour of quality (like they have on Tuesdays now) to curry the favor of the critics. Hell, move them up an hour, where Idol will slaughter you no matter what. That was the strategy with Homicide: LOTS through most of the 90s: we're going to lose this timeslot anyway, so let's go out with a bang.

My dream: Peter Liguori cancels Arrested, NBC picks it up with no restraints on Hurwitz and schedules Scrubs/Office/Arrested/Committed/L&O:SVU. *head explodes*

I hadn't watched any of The Office except for the premiere which was less than impressive. That was until last night, when CNBC showed three straight episodes ("Diversity", "Health Care", and "Basketball"). Within two minutes of Diversity, I was hooked and had a great reason to stay up later than I intended to.

The basketball game had so many gems in it, I thought I was watching Arrested Development. I really liked after the game was over when the accountant proceeded to sink three-pointer after three-pointer.

Great editing on this show, so I now have another show to worry about being able to watch another season of. Are the ratings decent enough for another season??

Alton I like. I think he does a good job. But Kevin can suck it. He's very much the worst part of the show. I haven't watched every week, but has Morimoto won more than once this season?
