On the last RAW before WM21, Jericho beat Tomko with the Walls of Jericho; this struck me as odd, because I couldn't actually recall Jericho winning with the Walls in a long time. Then I couldn't actually remember Jericho winning anything in a long time.

So, taking the period between WrestleManias as a year of wrestling, I ask:

1) How many times did Chris Jericho make an opponent tap out with the Walls of Jericho over the course of the year? I'm thinking Tomko might very well have been the only person all year to actually submit to that move.

2) How many times did Chris Jericho actually win anything over the course of the year? The only other time I remember him winning anything was the RAW Musical Chairs Invitational thing, although likely it's mostly because I was there live. The funny thing is, he won that by beating -- you guessed it! -- Tomko. Is Tyson Tomko the only remaining guy in the company who'll job to Jericho, or what?

Anyway, yeah. If he did win anything else, I can't seem to remember it offhand.

He was the guy that Shelton Benjamin beat at Taboo Tuesday for the IC belt he currently holds...

Speaking of Jericho, I could have sworn I recently read an article that mentioned Chris' contract is ending soon and that he wants to focus on music. If I remember correctly, he made a statement along the lines of, "I've accomplished nearly everything there is to do in the WWE."

egads, you expect someone to have that sort of infomration lying around?

...I only have part of it.

2004 RAW Index

Starting with October, because that's when I started marking down decisions on the list and I've not got all day anyway.

10/04 HHH b Jericho
10/11 Jericho NC Rhyno
10/18 Batista/Flair b Jericho/Orton
10/19 Shelton b Jericho [IC]
10/25 Shelton b Jericho [IC]
11/01 Orton/Jericho/Maven b Flair/Batista
11/14 Orton/Jericho/Maven/Benoit b HHH/Edge/Snitsky/Batista
11/21 Jericho b Steven Richards [heat]
11/22 Batista DQW Jericho
11/29 Jericho loses in the battle royal
12/06 Benoit/Jericho DQW HHH/Batista
12/13 Batista/HHH b Benoit/Jericho
12/27 Jericho b Christian [beat the clock]
01/03 Edge b Jericho
01/09 Jericho loses in the elimination chamber
01/10 Benoit/Jericho b Christian/Tomko
01/17 Jericho b Benoit
01/24 Benoit/HBK/Jericho b Tomko/Christian/Edge
01/30 Benot loses in the Royal Rumble
01/31 Benoit/Jericho DDQ Grenier/Conway
02/07 Benoit b Jericho
02/14 Hassan b Jericho
02/21 Jericho b Simon
02/28 Jericho b Maven

and then I actually haven't updated since then. But look, wins! (He was Batista's pinball for quite a while, and when you're an upper guy not going anywhere, you're natually going to lose to guys who are going somewhere.)

Bryon Frazier from my site was putting together the 2004 records for me - however I haven't had an update in about 3 months, and the last one I saw only gave me records through March of last year.

Chris Jericho 4-6-1 2-4-1 2-2
January 5 Raw (w/ Christian) The Hurricane and Rosey Win
January 12 Raw Mark Henry Loss
January 19 Raw Rene Dupree Win
January 26 Raw (w/ Rob Van Dam) Batista, Randy Orton, and Ric Flair Loss
February 2 Raw (w/ Christian) Batista and Ric Flair Loss
February 9 Raw (w/ Trish Stratus) Matt Hardy and Molly Holly Win
February 16 Raw Kane No Contest
March 8 Raw Steven Richards Loss
March 14 Wrestlemania XX Christian Loss
March 15 Raw Matt Hardy Loss
March 22 Raw Rene Dupree Win

Also, I think he beat both Christian and Trish in a handicap match at Backlash, beat Chritian at Unforgiven, and again at the Beat The Clock edition of RAW.

So yes, those who will job to him include:

- Christian, and anyone who may have a relationship with him (Tomko, Trish, Edge...)

- Rene Dupree

And to be honest, that may very well be just about it. I'm curious to see how the year plays out, and if there were other victims.

Well, he beat Christian in a ladder match for the vacant IC Title at Unforgiven last year. He also beat Trish and Christian in a handicap match at Backlash though I can't remmber which one he beat and with what move. I remember him beating Christian in a steel cage match on RAW and then at Bad Blood, he beat Tomko with the running enzigurui (sp?). He did beat Simon Dean a couple months ago on RAW with the Walls. He might have won other matches over the last year but none are leaping to mind right now.

Anyone waiting for Jericho to win meaningful matches is going to be waiting a long time. He doesn't care anymore and I don't think we should either. He is in a pretty good spot. The Money in the Bank Ladder Match was his idea in real life according to the Torch, and we all know he helped come up with that Trish/Christian thing last year, and maybe even the Shawn thing the year before. He gets pretty much everything he asks for, is smart enough to know when to protect himsself and the rest of the time just goes through the motions. Luckily for us, his motions are better than 90% of their roster, so why not enjoy it while it lasts? His cryptic comments about "doing everything" in wrestling make me want to appreciate him while he's here.

And just for devil's adovocation purposes, he's never won a lot of matches. When he debuted, despite being massively over he spent several early PPVs jobbing to the squalid likes of X-Pac and Chyna.
