Fox Entertainment Group President Gail Berman, who has run Fox for the last few years (first under Chairman Sandy Grushow and by herself for about two years,) announced today she's leaving to help run Paramount's TV studio. (Edit: film studio, which is startling.)

Broadcasting and Cable - Breaking News | MediaWeek (much better article)

On the one hand: under her watch, the network developed 24, Arrested Development, Keen Eddie, Wonderfalls, Andy Richter Controls..., Malcolm in the Middle. On the other hand: under her watch, the network cancelled Keen Eddie, Wonderfalls, Andy Richter Controls..., Family Guy and Futurama.

Let's not even mention the loads of reality tripe she's helped unload upon the nation's tellies.

What this means for Arrested Development is sketchy. The word has, of course, been that Fox is still keen on the Bluths, but that all depends on who's minding the store. If Berman was the show's top proponent at Fox, this could be bad news. She could also have been the one holding the network's love back; if you're to believe her ramblings, Fox would have never put Keen Eddie on the air, as Sandy Grushow wasn't a fan (but Berman managed to support it long enough to get a couple of airings.) Whatever the case, I hope whoever takes the reigns of Fox Entertainment Group has more patience than their predecessor.

To replace Gail Berman as entertainment chief of the Fox TV network will be Peter Liguori, who is the FX President. He is the one who brought us "The Shield" and "Nip/Tuck". Great choice!

Wow, what a great party. Exceeded my expectations. Best way to describe Project X: It's like the closing credits of The Hangover came to life. A shaky start but then it gradually got super fun.
