Last Year's Thread (The W)

Happy Valentine's Day, all. Congrats to those with someone to spend the day with, and please watch out for the people who don't, as they'll be sobbing uncontrollably on the floor.

"He is the most overrated piece of crap in the league. He bitched and whined after he got his ass beaten in New England last year, so the NFL changed the rules. Then he got his ass beaten in New England again. Every year he's the top MVP candidate. Every year he's supposed to be the best. Every year he's going to carry the Colts to the Super Bowl. And every single year he goes to New England and gets his ass beaten. And his brother's a whiny little bitch." -A friend of mine, on Peyton Manning

Much like Screaming Head Guy I am in black from head to toe this year as per usual. I said it last year, but I will say it again:

ditto here. yay for us, I guess. thankfully my gf hates the commercialization of the holiday with flowers prices out of this world, so she specifically told me not to get her flowers. instead I surprised her with one of her favorite candies, cadburry creme eggs. gotta love easter candy on v-day (we celebrated over the weekend since she's back at school in SD).

The only single person in the office worked her last day here on Monday, so I dont have to listen to her crying over every man that ever wronged her all day today.

Meanwhile, Praise the Lord Mrs. Freeze is a cheapskate, we will be thumbing through the ol' coupon book for someplace to eat tonight as she lectures me for spending too much on her Alentine's gift that I have yet to buy (as of 10:00am).

HAPPY ALENTINE'S DAY, EVERYBODY!

I've actually got a nice little night planned out...

We're gonna go see the movie of HER choice at 6:25 (The Wedding Date), then it's off to a dinner of my choosing (TGIFridays, sitting in the bar so we catch RAW! (I'm SO romantic!)), then we're going to a nightclub here cause a friend of mine is videoDJing tonight and I gave him a disc with her three favorite videos (The Monroes - WHAT DO ALL THE PEOPLE KNOW, The Polyphonic Spree - LIGHT AND DAY(ver#3), and Delerium - FLOWERS BECOME SCREENS) with a short intro recorded by me saying these are for her on our first Valentines day together.

Sigh... sorry to interupt, go on back to your loneliness stories. No one wants to hear about the happy people around here...

I love that song, but I have never seen the video. Did the Monroes disappear off the face of the earth after that?

This is excerpted from our ride in to work this morning.

JJD (to Mrs. JJD): So, what did you want for Valentine's Day, anyway?
Mrs. JJD: Nothing.
JJD: Cool. I got you just what you wanted then.

In case that falls through, my girl and I saw "Hitch" and it was a very cute and funny movie. Perfect date movie.

James and Smith had awesome characters that suited them well. It is a romantic dramedy, and near the end, there were actually some tears and sniffles from the audience.

This is the first Valentine's Day in three years that I haven't had someone to spend it with, and I couldn't be happier. Thankfully down here it is usually overshadowed by Mardi Gras, so I don't have to pay much attention to it. I was with someone for the last two V-Day's that who thought it was the most important day of the year and it was all around a experience to be dreaded. Today, thankfully, is just like any other day for me. :-)

A single red rose for Mrs. Dunk and a cookbook from "RAO's" (the East Harlem mob restaurant that I took Mrs. Dunk to for our 10th anniversary last year). A single pink rose and a single lavender rose for the two little dunkettes and small chocolate hearts (that I will wind up eating most of) for each of them .

How in God's name did you get a table at Rao's?
