It's funny that I: a. Live in Tampa, and never heard of it, not even from friends who go to local wrestling shows. b. Can't find mention of it in the "Weekly Planet," the local entertainment guide. I even did an online search at the "Weekly Planet" a month ago, looking for some wrestling shows, and didn't see anything about it. c. Can't find mention of it in the archives of "St. Pete Times" or the "Tampa Tribune," and they will cover local wrestling if more than one or two "star" names show up. (EDIT: I guess I could have botched the searches, but it would seem hard to miss finding "WrestleReunion" or "Wrestle Reunion.")
It was last weekend. About a million Chris Cruise "on site report" articles are up at....one of the sites. I forget. There's a good thread about it on tOA.
I think FLEA went, even...maybe he said something about it his Saturday Evening Post?

For some reason the Miss South Carolina and Miss Teen S.C. are hosting a similar wrestling hootenanny at the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium, one of the old hubs for Mid-Atlantic.
After a meet and greet with photos and autographs, one can see: Brad Armstrong vs George South Special Referee: Ricky Steamboat
Indian Strap Match Chief Jay Eagle vs. Greg "The Hammer" Valentine Special Referee: Tommy Young
The Masked Superstar vs. The Barbarian
Ricky Morton vs. Mystery Opponent
UCW Universal Heavyweight Title Lex Luger vs. The One Man Gang
I'm in Fort Myers right now and they had a lot of ads on the ESPN Sports Radio affiliate here the week leading up to it. They even had Jake "The Snake" Roberts call in for a 20 minute "shoot" interview. I was in the car and cursing the fact I couldn't record it. Dave Moulton (the local host and ABC-TV sports anchor) did a good job interviewing him and keeping Jake on point even though he admittedly hadn't seen a match since Mania III. Jake's interview was tremendous, very strange, but highly entertaining. He talked about his old man (Grizzly Smith) and constantly pursuing his approval which never came. It ended up with a few golden shower references that dragged it down after about 20 minutes of interesting talk. Moulton thanked Jake for not cursing like Ft.Myers native DDP, who apparently f-bombed his way into the hearts of local listeners the day before (damn, I missed it!). They had promo'd the event all week on radio. Meltzer had been talikng about it the last few weeks too. I think the highlights of the events were the Q & A sessions, with great talkers like Cornette keeping everybody entertained.
