Is it the NYPD Blue? The NBA basketball? The sexy women of Charmed? Lord, it can't by Tyne Daly on Judging Amy, can it? The last time I flicked past TNT when she was on, she was brutally making out with Colonel Trautman from Rambo. It altered my perception of my favorite childhood Green Beret colonel.
Why does it have to be Thursday? I understand they want it seperated from Raw, but wouldn't Wednesday or Friday work just as well? The show is taped on Tuesdays anyway. They can air it basically anytime they want.
NOTE: The above post makes no sense. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Exactly. If UPN want to be "taken seriously" they cant let go of Smackdown- its one of their strongest shows.... How am I supposed to believe UPN is serious when they're making me laugh so much?
This is ture. But what other network coul WWE fit with on a Thursday night?
It would be incredibly unlikly for WWE to be on another over-the-air net if they go off SD!, but as long as they get paid, they'll probably be fine with that. They did okay with no network TV before SD!

While I agree with you, I think they'd probably be thrilled if they could do it live on Tuesdays, and that may play a role in negotiations. It sounds like they really think the show suffers from being live, and they are only not doing it live now because it'd be horrible for the production people.
It's not going to be Tuesday's with UPN, though.
Does this fuel the debate as to whether VKM buys a cable channel for his 24 hour wrestling station?
Probably still very unlikely. It's tough to get a new cable channel picked up by most cable systems unless you've got strong leverage (usually a popular channel you can threaten to yank [ESPN] if you don't take the one they really don't want to pay for [ESPN U])
Despite rumors to the contrary, WWE Smackdown! is not about to be cancelled. Both UPN and WWE have stated that any rumors indicating that the show will be cancelled when its contract ends later this year are false. The story basically came to light after a reporter misinterpreted something but if it were indeed true, every major news and TV outlet would have already reported it.

I'm not sure if that's a viable source, but it looks like good news to me.
"You won't see that on Everybody Loves Raymond!" -J.R. after Trish gets pasted with a chair
Yeah, it's not likely that any network makes a decision to cancel a show 18 months before the end of the contract. I mean, hard as it is to believe, wrestling might be on another one of those booms in 18 months and SD might be the hottest thing going. Regardless I don't see it going anywhere, unless UPN turns Kellner-esque and decides that wrestling doesn't fit the profile of the network.

Did anyone else miss when TNT became the one-third gay channel?
I was wondering the same thing. It would be great if I could actually have a basic network gay channel, instead of having to pay the exorbiant fees whenever Logo! finally hits the air.
Bravo used to be an independant film channel. Now, that market's been taken by Independant Film Channel (go figure), so with the rise in popularity of Queer Eye and some other programs that I forget at the moment, they've pretty much been quietly rebranding themselves as a "queer" network. Which, frankly, is very smart of them considering it's gotten them the best ratings of the channel's existance.
On topic, I'm thinking that this UPN cancelling Smackdown nonsense is just a ploy to give the network some leverage for contract renegotiations.

Back off topic, Bravo also airs the endlessly fascinating "Inside the Actor's Studio" as well as the "Celebrity Poker Showdown(s)."
My favourite curseword is . . .
"The 6-5 Seahawks are leading the West by one game. They have lost five of their last eight. They lost to a 4-6 Bills team at home last week by 29 points. They have Jerry Rice starting at WR, wearing Steve Largent's number and running fly patterns with a pitchfork sticking out his back. They are being routinely outscored on Sundays by Rashard Lewis, Ray Allen and even Vlad Radmanovic. On the bright side, it's only Year 6 of Mike Holmgren's five-year plan." - The "Sports Guy" Bill Simmons hits the nail on the freaking head
There's certainly been more bad than good. His Wrestlemania match with Undertaker was surprisingly good, as was his WWE title loss to Bret Hart, but his best singles match was easily his no-holds-barred match with Shawn Michaels, the main event of IYH:...
