You missed the sign to the left side of the ramp that read ORTEN that a kid was holding up, and I don't think there was any punnery involved.

Thoughts:

-They are just doing absolutely everything to try and get Randy Orton over as a face and HHH and Flair ARE attacking senior citizens (not just "doing everything short of..." as the phrase is usually spoken) in order to get it done, and it's just not working.

-Meanwhile in the midst of that whole angle, it's worth noting that HHH sold 1/3 of the way across the ring from a punch by a grandfather. But then again he's seventyancient years old and he still throws better punches than Kurt Angle.

-By the way, Rock's statistics of inanimate object threats made good upon? 0 for Who's Counting. Batista's? 1 for 1. It's just that he forgot to either shine it up real good and/or or turn that sumbitch sideways.

I liked the six-man, my friend stated it was one Tyson Tymko away from a MOTY candidate, I kinda agree, but another ten minutes wouldn't hurt either. I was kinda baffled by Bischoff sudden heel turn, I thought he was face or at least nuetral since he came back. Didn't he give a speech about what has Evolution done for me a month or so ago and now he is giving Evolution all the spots in the Rumble? Just bad booking again, I guess. I did like the mini-Johnny Carson tribute with Hulk that was nice. The rest of the show was ok, but Batista is now offical the bad ass on Raw after that flag up the ass. Did that last sentence make any sense?

I am glad the Orton push will stop at the Rumble. Batista is a lock to win even after Flair tries to eleminate. Batista/HHH will be good, but with Orton out in the cold what will he do? I just can't see another three-way dance headlining mania two years in a row.

Tomko's sole contribution to matches lately seems to be the willingness to take a german release with gusto. He has no personality, no character, no distinctive repertoire. He's the utterly bland musclehead bodyguard. A total cypher.

The Lovely Mrs. Tracker was begging for Hodge to go after someone, but was disappointed to see a 3-time amateur wrestling champ PUNCH someone. She was also calling out for Keibler to slap or kick Hunter, yelling "heels leave holes!"

If Regal/Tajiri fight La Rez, how many fans will still chant "USA"? 40 percent? 60?

I really wish the Edge/Michaels match was hair vs. hair.

After seeing the Hulkster/Carson clip, will we see the Hogan headlock clip when Richard Belzer dies?

They weren't real. I saw them at a live event Friday night after the Chokeslam through the table, and both guys were fine. No bruises, and the only thing wrapped were Snitsky's ribs. Possibly they could have done it in Tyler or Tulsa, but I doubt it. Both really showed no ill effects from the match last week at the live event, but really pulled the injured look off.

Other thoughts...
>>No Benjamin tonight...bummer.
>>It really seems that Raw is showing more and more wrestling..which can't be a bad thing.
>>Not a single Diva match tonight...can't be a bad thing.
>>Seems like they backed off the tension between Batista and HHH tonight, they had a couple of moments, but nothing compared to the last couple of nights. HHH looking away during the main event was good stuff, but I'm really surprised Batista didn't say anything else.

And there's not even some sort of angle behind him being in the Rumble.

It would make more sense if Bischoff rewards his loyalty with a RR qualifying match, and, by some fluke, Coach pulled out a win. But when other WRESTLERS have to qualify to be in it and he gets a free spot....I just don't get it.

I mean, doesn't Bischoff want a RAW wrestler to win the rumble match? This IS RAW v.s Smackdown, straight up.
He should want to show up Smackdown, especially since they've had the winner 2 years running. You'd think he'd want to make sure all 15 spots were solidified with guys who are at least wrestlers.

Two things:

1) This is all fake.
2) More importantly, look at other entrants in the past. The Honkey Tonk Man? Pete Rose (multiple times!)? There are always fluke comedy entrants, and Coach is just following in their footsteps.

yeah, I was standing right there by the ramp when they came down last night and Kane's "bruise" was the weirdest color I'd ever seen, and certainly not under the skin.

this was my first live wwe event and I was impressed with how much goes on to give the fans the most for their money.

Rose never entered the Rumble. He's been to 3 Wrestlemanias as an annoyance to Kane.

Drew Carey did, however.

All of what you list above, at that precise moment, ALL of it became secondary to Bischoff's intense need to piss off Regal. Surely you can buy THAT.

Pure gold made more sweet by the fact that Conway is actually American. I couldn't help but chuckle when he called Batista "a typical arogant American" last night... in his perfect Pittsburgh tremelo.

Speaking of La Rez, I hope that Dupree comes back RAW and swaps out with Conway. Big Rob is just waiting to shine as a singles star.

And poor Val Venis ... the guy is a pretty damn fine worker and, IMO, put on a really enjoyable match with Hassan. It's a shame he's basically a jobber now.

Thank you. At least Coach has not only worked PPV matches, but actually won them. His win/loss percentage on PPV is probably better than Jerichos at this point.

He's also not afraid to take every finisher in the match and sell the hell out of it.

Venis would probably still be pretty useful had Austin not comeback for the *Sheriff* gimmick that was just foolish from the get go, while making the somewhat successful Chief Morely gimmick needless (while bringing back the useless Venis gimmick),and giving Uncle Eric two (Nitro & Coach) not so ring savoy assistants who really can't do much or add a whole lot. We could be having a solid Regal/Morely mid-card feud right now. Then again there are a lot of 'ifs' and 'buts' to my theory, but I still can't help but think that Venis and us, the wrestling fans, were robbed.

I usually don't give props to Lawler, but I have to now for his noticing the "CLB's pet goat" sign re: Tyson Tomko. That just F'n RULED!
Otherwise an "EH" show, considering it's the pre PPV show.
BTW, my friend got RR tix so it looks like I'm going!!!

I was sitting there, watching that match, and remembered how much I used to enjoy Val's work, especially his spastic legged DDT selling. My girlfriend thinks he is a goof. I pointed out he was actually the IC title holder, and she didnt believe me.

Was I think only one who couldnt tell Hodge apart from Flair when they were both in the ring?

Maven sneaking up, trying to get close enough to Kane to pin him was great. Make him the sneaky cowardly heel, and he might not be all that bad.

Batista giving Flair that look when he was tossed from ringside was AWESOME. Plus, Flair and HHH earlier being the dick heels, making jokes, that was pure gold! Made me realise how entertaining HHH can still be.

I would only like to add: yes! This is a brilliant observation! I feel bad for Sean Morley. I truly do. He's a good worker, and obviously capable of much more than the Venis gimmick. I would LOVE to see him work with Regal. But one can only dream.

As a side note: I really do miss Lance Storm an awful lot.
