A few notes after wading through the thread (sheesh, offline for a couple o' days...)
Heart Punch - I first saw this actually used by "Mean" Mark Callous (aka The Undertaker) during his WCW run. I remember the announcer selling it as a potentially lethal move, as it could actually -stop- the opponent's heart, and my little fourteen year old mind completely bought it. What a tool...
What about the Roaring Elbow? Sure, we saw it in ECW a few times, but it'd be awesome for someone to bring it to America again...
I'm glad to see Lesnar using the TKO, as that move was always pretty good in my books.
Tornado DDT? That's a legit finisher if I ever saw one, but the only person using it is Chavo, who's never on bloody TV.
Other finishers I miss:
Camel Clutch (properly done): I know Steiner Recliner is a variation, but, frankly, it sucks.
Full Boston Crab - Rick Martel style, baby! Is it sad that I miss him? He looked so damn good on his final WCW run before he screwed up his leg for good...
And what about Barry Darsow's dreaded ARM BAR OF DOOM!!!

Since I didn't watch much ECW and have never watched puroresu (though I want to sometime or another), I've been curious: What is a roaring elbow? I know Masato Tanaka does it, but I have no idea what it is.

Actually a strong enough blow to the chest can cause the heart to skip a beat or even stop. There have been cases of kids getting killed at little league games because a baseball hits them in the chest.

The Roaring/Rolling Elbow is basically a discus elbow. The giver spins around before throwing the elbow/forearm.
Used by Tanaka and more notably, Mitsuharu Misawa.

That does make sense, although Mark's punch was so loose there's still now way I should've bought it The jobber in question sold it well, though, as I recall. Still, since it has some basis in reality (a la the Mandible Claw), I don't see why it couldn't still get over as a finisher.
The Roaring Elbow's value isn't so much in its execution, but in the insane face Tanaka makes when he throws it. You've just gotta believe the move's effective because he sure as hell looks like he does.

Since you guys brought up Masato Tanaka's Roaring Elbow , that got me to thinking about his match with Mike Awesome at " Heat Wave 98 " so I went and found this...
" The two brought their feud to the shores of the U.S., facing each other at ECW's Heat Wave '98 PPV. The two put on a spectacular match as Tanaka executed an Awesome Bomb on Awesome (dropping your opponent in a power bomb down to the floor through a table) before scoring the pin. Man , that Awesome Bomb was , well , AWESOME !

I think the awesome bomb will go the way of the vertebreaker. Even if, in some twist of fate, Mike Awesome ever became any kind of threat in the WWF, a fed that is so squeamish about high impact moves won't let him use it (Maybe on Spike, or one of the dark show guys).
Put me down for someone who misses the pile-driver (in any of it's forms). I'd like to see the Nail in the Coffin again too, because it would mean I get to see Vampiro.

Mike Awesome used the Awesome Bomb out of the ring as recent as last Fall, during the Alliance battle royal on a Smackdown episode. He powerbombed Tommy Dreamer over the top rope and through a table the Dudleys had set up.
And it's nitpicking, but the Tanaka/Awesome Heatwave '98 match actually ended with a tornado DDT onto two chairs, not with that (awesome) Awesome Bomb.
They should bring back the GHETTO BLASTER.. the old school one that Bad News Brown did back in the day.. not what they renamed Booker T's leaping side kick into..
And yea.. why did T stop using the Harlem Hangover.. I liked when be busted out a modified one on the Big Show after he lost his WCW title..
It was the Axe kick that got renamed the ghetto blaster (my vote for dumbest move re-name in all of wrestling ever. "Whisper in the Wind" comes in a close second).
The old ghetto blaster I think has gone the way of the DDT. The enziguri isn't a credible finisher anymore, ever the "unassisted" one like the ghetto blaster. RVD actually busted one out recently also.
My understanding is that Booker doesn't have the knees for the Harlem Hangover anymore (he would have to call it something else now anyway). I didn't like that running one he did on Big Show myself. While it's a general concensus that he needs a new finisher, Idon't think that's it.

Maybe I should have been more specific. I don't think they will let Mike Awesome use that move on anyone they care about. Barring the injured main eventers (Stone Cold, Chris Benoit) who have a legitimate concern, I don't think they would him do that to anyone who could potentially draw. During the Invasion, he missed that move so often (At least the run to the corner version) that I nearly crapped my pants when he hit it on Dreamer.

I don't know. I think the "Five-Arm" (flying forearm) was one of the worse named finishers.
And I think the last two guys to use that finisher was Tom Zenk and Tito Santana? Anyone else that has used the flying forearm as a finisher?
I love the "five arm" gimmick, because "it's more effective than a forearm."
A guilty pleasure.
