Try living in the middle of Maine. You think you have no choices?

Here's what you get in central Maine: McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's, Arby's, Subway.........

I actually got to a Jack-in-the-Box in El Paso, of all places.(How come I only get to try these places when I'm on the road for work?). It wasn't bad, but no different really than Hardee's/Carl's Jr.

Heh, I went to one in Durant, Oklahoma, also while working. I don't quite see the hate for JitB, and their shakes are okay.

Oh Jack in teh Crack makes me ill. SONIC is the shiznit though, cant go wrong with the frito chili pie!

Anybody from North Carolina remember Scats? (I know, horrible name) They had the BEST fried chicken going, until Hardees bought them all up.

And, if you dont have Sonic in your neck of the woods, do you at least have a Roy Rogers? Terrific Roast Beef sandwhiches!

But, the newest chain I see that I just love is Culvers. Simply fantastic food. Plus, a penutbutter chocolate sundae that is to die for!

Trust me when I say that you aren't missing anything, save massive gastrointestinal distress, by not having a White Castle in your area. Think about the nastiest, greasiest, dirtiest dive you've ever been in and know that it was likely cleaner and had better food than your average sliderville. Just my own personal opinion on the evil that is White Castle.

But you DO have Wasses hot dogs, which trumps just about anything else you could name that you DON'T have. (Mrs. JJD's looking over my shoulder going "HELL YEAH~!"

Completely agree. We used to have one off the 130 freeway outside of Pennsauken, NJ. I went there once, and learned that WC has the WORST burgers ever made. Even Harold and Kumar couldn't persuade me to find another White Castle in NJ.

I did however love Jack in the Box when I lived in CA. The Ultimate (or is it triple, quadruple) cheeseburger was like Heaven in grease form.

I don't miss Sonic at all, since moving out East. It was always okay, but not worth the drive.

SCARLET: Oh, come on, you don't think I'm gonna fall for that old trick?
WADSWORTH: It's not a trick. There was one shot at Mr. Boddy in the study. Two for the chandelier, two at the lounge door, and one for the singing telegram.
SCARLET:That's not six.
WADSWORTH: One plus two plus two plus one.
SCARLET:Nuh, uh. There was only one shot that got the chandelier. That's one plus two plus ONE plus one.
WADSWORTH: Even if you are right, that would be one plus one plus two plus one, not one plus TWO plus one plus one.

Now, the fish nibblers and chocolate shakes....heaven!

A lot of people don't realize what's really going on. They view life as a bunch of unconnected incidents and things. They don't realize that there's this, like, lattice of coincidence that lays on top of everything. Give you an example, show you what I mean: suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

Believe them, we don't have White Castle, but my former roomate had the frozen ones that you could microwave, the smell alone was enough for me to move out. Spam smelled better than that garbage. We have a ton of places to go via fast food, but only handful to dress up and go out.

The frozen White Castle burgers are garbage... but the real ones are quite good. And addicting. I am very sad they don't have them out here...

White Castles are awesome! I am going to St. Louis for a business trip next week and can't wait to actually get some real (no the frozen) ones. I love Arizona, but the one thing I miss from my childhood in Chicago (other than Wrigley Field) is White Castles!

If the only Chicago food you are missing is White Castle, then wow, just wow.

Seriously, White Castle is the best example I can think of for a fast food joint that you either love or you hate without any middle ground. I made extra spending money in college transporting sliders back to school whenever I'd go home, but I wouldn't touch one of the things and my then girlfriend wouldn't get in my car for several days after each White Castle run because it "stank".

I wouldn't call that stupid, when Pizza Pizza sponsors RAW. 'cause:

1) a good, solid chunk of the canadian population lives in Ontario (and southern ontario, at that).
2) lots of people travel to places in Ontario.

Now, if Mary Browns or Pizza Delight were to advertize on TSN, that'd be stupid.

Well, this discussion is only about White Castle, of course there is nothing like the Pizza, Hot Dogs and Italian Beef sandwiches that I had growing up, either!

Now... THERE is a loaded question.

I've only had White Castle once, and it was... um... well nothing special. Though we too get the Sonic adverts here in Oregon, and they ain't around. But I've been to Sonic down in AZ, and it was good, didn't really get to have a lot of different things. Found that I stay away from McD's now unless absolutely necessary.

Do you guys get the same awful Sonic commercials I do, with two dorks sitting in a car? "Are you talking chess smack?" I first started seeing those ads with the dorks a few years ago, and it seemed like they were regionally based at the time. So I wonder if Sonic has inflicted them on everyone nationwide.

I have about 3 Sonics near me, it's total Sonic overkill. But I do like the breakfast burritos and sunshine smoothies, not to mention the ocean water slushes. Mmmm. Delish. SONIC BOOM.

Central Pennsylvania is the land that Fast Food forgot. Even most of the Hardee's locations went away when the primary franchise owner for the area went out of business. (though there are still one or two of them around Harrisburg)

At least the Maryland/DC area has Roy Rogers.

I suppose it's time to do the "7 Wendy's Locations in 7 Days" tour, after all :)

Maybe I've been unlucky with bad experiences, but every time I went to White Castle I wished it was Krystal. The sandwiches are just blah.

There are only 18 left in the whole state; only one in the Baltimore area(and that's at BWI), one in Westminster and two in Montgomery County count as the Baltimore/DC area.

Most are Frederick and west.

Well, just as an attorney, as a human being, I would have thought that if there were recommendations that were so blatantly and flagrantly over the line in terms of torture, that you might have recognized them. I mean, it certainly appears to me that water boarding, with all its descriptions about drowning someone to that kind of a point, would come awfully close to getting over the border, and that you'd be able to at least say today, There were some that were recommended or suggested on that, but I certainly wouldn't have had a part of that, as a human being.
