The Christies' marriage may be unique in the world of professional sports in that Jackie is rarely far from her well-traveled husband's side. This was never more evident than during a preseason brawl with the rival Los Angeles Lakers prior to the 2002/03 season.
Doug and Jackie Christie say they plan to reveal considerably more about their relationship, family and way of life in a proposed reality television show on pop music network VH1. A deal between the Christies and the network is not final, but talks are progressing, both sides confirmed.
Jackie Christie said she was first approached about the project by a friend from another network: "After Doug and I talked about it, we decided to do it. They started filming a practice part of it in December, and they'll start filming the actual part of it on January 11th."
The couple has already received approval from the league office.

He's known as pretty much the most "whipped" guy in sports.

Because they certainly can't, y'know, play MUSIC anymore. Gotta fill time between countdown shows and "I Love the *fill in decade here*'s".
And what the hell are they gonna call this show? The title of "Yes, Dear" is already taken, isn't it?
Star wipe, and...we're out. Thrillin' ain't easy.

so *that*'s what you were talking about. I didn't catch the news until this morning. I like it. Nothing against Mobley, but what the Magic needed was some "D", which is about the only thing Christie is good for anymore. The magic are lighting it up this year, but it does no good to put up 100 PPG when you are giving up 100+PPG.
The Kings made out ok with this - MORE SCORING, which is never a bad thing. I think they got Mobley to get when it comes to re-signing next year - but it's too early for free agent talk. Wild West Shootout while the East seems to be content at playing .500 ball
Oh - it looks like Steve Francis is crying the blues about it, but who cares. Split -level head that guy. But he will come around.
GO MAGIC - good move...I don't know from any "reality series"...and don't want to. PEEEYEWWWW

"And speaking from his Granite Bay home, Christie - the most shocked one of all - halted a scheduled 30-minute radio interview after less than 10 minutes when emotions overwhelmed him.
"When it hit me, it was out of the blue, really," Christie told KHTK. "Now that you get a chance to sit back and think, the first thing that comes to mind is that it's a business. You've got to understand that."
Asked if he took comfort in knowing Kings fans would remember him, Christie said, "In a business like this, that could just well be the biggest thing that happens in your career."
He then cut the interview short, with his wife, Jackie, taking over.
"It's emotional," Jackie Christie said. "This is a real trying time. It hurts our heart, but we understand. Orlando will be our new place, but Sacramento will be our home."
Wow... I could understand if he had been there his entire career, but he's only been there since 2000. Grow a pair, man.
I'll echo Rikidozan's comment about outliers within any data sample, but I'll ad that the original thought is slightly flawed. I doubt if anyone would consider successive performance in sporting events to be independent events.
