"al-Zarqawi, whom the US occupation authorities declared to be the "target number one" in Iraq, has been arrested in the city of Baakuba, reported local Kurdish media. "

http://www.kurdmedia.com/news.asp?id=6025

The last line is, however "KurdishMedia.com could not verify the report."

Drudge has this posted on his site that 2 of the Arab news centers are stating this too. If so, this could be the type of thing the troops need over there to build up morale. That and better equipment!

I really hope this is true but I'm a bit concerned that no one in the US is backing it up.
I guess that could mean they have him and don't want to confirm it till he's secured, or that they don't.

I was ready to call bullshit on it except that no one will specifically deny it. "Reports are dubious" is a far cry from "we don't have him."

May all be a big case of mistaken identity. After all, Chyna was taken into custody this weekend.

I can't find this anywhere today. Aljazeera reported that the Kurds reported it, but that was about the most authoritative site I could find.

I'm wondering if this is another premature announcement.

Willful ignorance of science is not commendable. Refusing to learn the difference between a credible source and a shill is criminally stupid.

It looks like it. I read Arab news on a daily basis and caught it, but it's mostly gone from there. - The initial story is there, but they never followed up.

I remember Eric's columns and Delphi posts from back in the day. He was a bit of a kook.
