"al-Zarqawi, whom the US occupation authorities declared to be the "target number one" in Iraq, has been arrested in the city of Baakuba, reported local Kurdish media. "
Drudge has this posted on his site that 2 of the Arab news centers are stating this too. If so, this could be the type of thing the troops need over there to build up morale. That and better equipment!
"I know a great deal about the Middle East because I've been raising Arabian horses for over 20 years, I've researched the culture for most of my life."--Patrick Swayze on Iraq
I really hope this is true but I'm a bit concerned that no one in the US is backing it up. I guess that could mean they have him and don't want to confirm it till he's secured, or that they don't.
Originally posted by Guru ZimI can't find this anywhere today. Aljazeera reported that the Kurds reported it, but that was about the most authoritative site I could find.
I'm wondering if this is another premature announcement.
It looks like it. I read Arab news on a daily basis and caught it, but it's mostly gone from there. - The initial story is there, but they never followed up.
