I a huge fan of This series. I was wondering if Robert Duvall turned down the role in the third movie or was he always written as dead. George Hamilton sucks and he adds to the rest of the cast that sucks for this movie. I am a fan of Andy Garcia but he does not belong in this movie. The same can be said for Joe Mantalegia and the two actors that play the children of Micheal.
This movie is as good as the second, but the actors in it are not cast correctly, and hurt the story.
PAM ANDERSON on being named E!'s best blonde: "The carpet don't match the drapes!" "... Just kidding, there is no carpet."
IIRC, Duvall wanted the same money Pacino got, and was told to take a hike. He figured the movie wouldn't be any good without him, and was wrong.
Sure, the movie would have been better with him, but it was more than just OK - I'd say even good as it is. Not great, like I and II were, but still good. This movie is nowhere near as good as the second, or even the first, but those are pretty high standards to compare to.
The fact that the next generation of Corleones can't act, is a paralel to the family they are playing. Once Michael is gone, the family will never be as powerful as they once were.
