Who do you guys think will win or who should win this years Heisman award

Your nominees are...

-Adrian Peterson, Oklahoma Sooners; Freshman Runningback

-Jason White, Oklahoma Sooners; Senior Quarterback

-Reggie Bush, USC Trojans; Sophomore Runningback

-Matt Leinart, USC Trojans; Junior Quarterback

-Alex Smith, Utah Utes; Junior Quarterback

*I think Leinart has the inside track. They like to give it to QB's & I don't think they want to give it to White again so if I would pick on who I think would win I'd say Leinart... But it would be a cool surprise if Smith wins, might happen if the Sooners and USC players cancel each other out in the votes and Smith could somehow sneak in, doubt it will happen. Peterson being a freshman might be held against him as voters might think he'll have years to win it in the future. Bush had a strong year but again I think the voters lean to QB's.

So who I think will win, Leinart... Who I'd like to win, Smith.

Considering the wrestling title belt boom amongst pro athletes, I'd like to see White win it so he could boast at the 2005 NFL Draft that he's a TWO-TIME, TWO-TIME WCW champion...er, Heisman Trophy winner.

Then again, the damn thing's an albatross around your neck in the NFL (see Toretta, Gino), so who really wants the Desmond Howard statue?

^^ditto. I can't see the voters going with White again with other strong candidates, Peterson being a freshman hurts him, as does Smith's presence at a non-BCS conference school... Bush has just been too inconsistent, he's made some great plays but just hasn't put up the numbers. I think some voters may be influenced by Leinart's numbers last year and that will push him over the edge this year. But overall, Smith has put up great numbers against a pretty good schedule.

I think it should go to Bush maybe Peterson. I associate the Heisman with a game breaking exciting player like Charlie Ward or Desmond Howard. Jason White has got to be the most boring Heisman winner ever and if he wins again, I may throw up.

And the Heisman doesnt have anything to do with Pro success. It shouldnt even be associated with it. The Heisman is about College football.

This is probably just the diehard Ohio State fan in me, but I'd rather cut off my own foot than see Jason White win a second Heisman Trophy.

But that's just me.

It was a close field this season, I personally would've liked to see Benson, who did have better numbers than Peterson, and Jason Campbell, who was probably the MVP of the season (yeah I know it's not necessarily a MVP award but I think it should be a factor) in there instead of White and Bush. But you can't really argue with who did go I guess. Leinhart I thought was definitely going to win for the reasons people already mentioned. I would've gone with Campbell though.

Your right, I'm sure that a design team has never overlooked something like this in order to meet the demands of a client. (Tropican Fields speakers spring to mind)
