Only thing is they could air the last live hour of Boortz from Noon to 1pm but they don't. They give us the replay from the 9-11 part of show. I used to love the information overload hour. Funny thing is he voice sounds like Jesse Ventura's.
Sean Hannity is just a "Great American".
Savage: HARDCORE.
Anyways, the other news stations are just a bit too flashy this one is the low end one here. Beside I used to work for them and run the boards.

* 1210: The Usual Gang of Conservatives (Limbaugh, Hannity, Savage et al). Mostly unlistenable. Michael Smerconish is tolerable when he's sticking to local issues. * 1150: Pretty much the Same Usual Gang of Conservatives, but coming from Delaware. * 1060: All-news, all-the-time, a Philly institution. * 560: What was once the mighty WFIL, one of Philly's dominant music stations for decades, is now an all-Christian station. Eeeeuuugh. One can only listen to Janet Parshall for so many minutes before wanting to scrub your brain with a wire brush. * 610: Sports talk... once in a while. It's _supposed_ to be a sports talk station; actual sports content is about 50/50 on a good day, about 30% during the morning show, and about 1.7% of the time during the execrable Howard Eskin drive-time show. * 660: Sports talk from New York, often a little better in its the sports/blather ratio, but with obvious anti-Philly biases. Carries Imus in the morning. * 94.1 FM: Stern. Used to be almost all daytime talk in at least two incarnations (Stern -> DeBella -> Greaseman -> Scott Ferrall, then Stern -> Don & Mike -> O & A), now just Stern for now. * XM Radio: Opie & Anthony.
I can't pick up Hendrie or I'd give him a try.
EDIT: Oh hell, my hometown station may be carrying Lionel weeknights! I may have to check that out.

vsp, can you get 920 AM where you are? It's hit or miss (low powered out of Trenton) but it's "Philadelphia's ESPN Radio", and I find it more tolerable than 610 (they have a local afternoon drive show). During the day it's the usual ESPN crew, but the fact that they talk sports most of the time (and the fact that they don't have Howard Eskin on payroll) means that it's replaced 610 on my dial.

Nope, I can't get that. You should've seen me during the baseball playoffs when driving around, frantically trying to get _some_ AM station within range that carried the games...
I'm southwest of Philly, and radio is strange here. I used to be unable to get WYSP (huge Philly FM station) and could barely get WIP (huge Philly AM station) at an old job, but could tune into AM 900 and get Toronto Maple Leafs games clear as a bell.

That's odd. I'm northwest of Philly (Lansdale area) and can get 920 perfectly fine.
I live in Delaware County and we never can get ESPN radio here. As far as 610 the best for sports talk is the Anthony and Steve mid day show. The morning show is funny but not much real sports talk or knowledge and Howard is well an ass. Glen Macnow is pretty good too and this weekend Jody Mack will be doing a few shifts he recently got fired from WFAN in NY.
To me, WIP jumped the shark when Jody left for New York and they broke up Steve and Mike, putting Mike with Eskin and exiling Fredericks to the graveyard shift.
My favorite show for the longest time was the Saturday morning show with Don McKee and Ray Didinger, since that was the only time all week you could hear discussions about teams outside the area.
I always like Jody Mac on middays on the FAN. If they were going to make a replacement on that show, they should have dumped the brain damaged partner of his. I'm in a spot where I can get both the FAN and EEI, so it is always fun, especially during baseball season.
Money is no replacement for the love of a good woman. Real estate, especially in the current marketplace, is another story.

Dude if you haven't listened in Glen in the Saturday slot is just as good if not bagels and donuts Don McKee. I forgot to mention that as it is without a doubt the best talk radio you will hear.
The state now is working to enclose the cabs of CDOT lawn-mowing equipment so workers don't get sprayed by exploding bottles of urine when mower blades chew up the containers, Stockinger said. Ewwwwwww!
