Capcom vs SNK 2for GameCube? Your nuts

Get the PS2 or X-Box version at least with those you can play online. The GC controller sucks for fighting games

I've played the last two or three EA NCAAs and the current Madden on the GC at my brother-in-law's house and we've never had any trouble whipping ass and taking names. I even suggest that the Tiger Woods games are easier because the sectagonal tapering around the stick keeps the swing online and the Z-button is easier to use for power and spin than the PSX and XBox controller configurations.

Update:

Thus far I have:

Mario Kart: Double Dash (yes, I got it packaged with the Cube)
Legend of Zelda Wind Waker
Mario Golf Toadstool Tour
Animal Crossing

More will come, I'm sure. I'm looking into getting a Mario Party, but none of the stores around here have anything but 5 priced at 39.99 or more. I'm holding off on Mario Sunshine given the poor reviews here, and Metroid Prime because I'm not really big on Metroid Hunters for DS, so I don't know whether or not it'd be worth my investment. I'm probably going to hold off on Tennis and Paper Mario as well. I'd probably love Crystal Chronicals, but I don't know whether or not I feel like investing in the GBA/GC connectors, besides which most of the friends I know don't have GBAs anyway, so it wouldn't really get a whole lot of play with it.

Quezzy: I'm not big on those GameFly things. I play more than two games at one time, play them after I've beaten them, and like to own them anyway. I don't really see the benefit of renting them if you're just carful what you buy, and I don't like getting mixed up in subscription services anyway, because I probably wouldn't use it enought to make it worthwhile. By the time I'm done doing everything I wanted to do with the game, I'll have paid for the full version anyway, and some months I'd pay to rent nothing.

So, in short, it's a continuing saga, but thank you all for your advice so far.

You should also pick up Pikmin 2. I played both of them through (though I haven't gotten 100% on 2 yet), and they're both amazing. Pikmin 2 is a lot more open ended, too, and much less frustrating, as there's not really a time limit like in the first one.

You should also grab an SSX game if you don't have one already for PS2. They both run much more smoothly on the 'Cube. SSX3 is just incredible. Also, for multiplayer, you'll want to grab Super Monkey Ball 2. I think it's the game I've played the most in multiplayer (Double Dash being a close second). Everyone seems to love it (except for the lame ass rafting), and it rarely gets old (drunken or sober).

I second the advice of the person who recommended the Mega Man Anniversary Collection. I also enjoy Sonic Adventure DX and Sonic Mega Collection-- the latter of which contains Sonic 1, 2 and 3, Sonic & Knuckles and all the variants, Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine and Sonic 3-D Blast. Probably got some other games on it too, but those are the only ones I can think of right now.

Does anybody know what the deal is with the Mario Party games? I was looking for something fun to do with the kids over Christmas, and I thought, "Hey, Mario Party 6 just came out, I'll go pick up 5 on the cheap, they're not that different."

Nope. $49.99 for both 5 AND 4, everywhere I've checked. What the hell? The games are over one and two years old respectively, and have newer "better" versions out. Aren't the prices of these "series" games supposed to go down once the new iteration is out?

I think they're only cheaper if they become less popular. Unfortunately, they're very popular games still, so I don't think Nintendo sees any reason to cut the prices. You could probably pick up a used copy for 10 bucks or so less somewhere.

The new Mario Party has games that use the new included "Microphone" to where you can talk into it and get some sort of voice recognitions, and also blow on it to make a boat, etc go faster in the mini games. It's new and same price get the new one duh!
