While reading an article about Waterproof Blonde (the band that does Christian's theme on ThemeAddict), I noticed something that stuck out to me.
So Waterproof Blonde became an independent artist; but life as an indie isn't all bad. For one thing, WWE came calling again and the Blonde recently finished recording a song called "Just Close Your Eyes," written by WWE music director Jim Johnston. It will be released soon on a WWE compilation that will include songs by Motorhead, Sevendust and others.
Smith noted that the song "doesn't sound like our usual stuff," which is not surprising, considering the band didn't write the tune. But the band members agreed it's a decent song and was fun to record.
"It's good for what it's for," Hagan said. "It's about a guy turning himself around to be a good person."
"In the soap opera world of wrestling," added Vier, "it's a song for a bad guy to cross over to being a good guy."
I'm not sure how much they would be in the loop, so take that for what you will, I just found it odd.
Accordig to Meltzer, there are no plans in place for a Christian heel turn (he mentioned it on WOL in referrence to Edge attacking him last week). But of course, things can change on a dime in WWE.
I think Christian has been pretty good lately, and I think that long-term feud between him and Shelton Benjamin would be good; after that, however, I'd like to se him go face, if that would get him higher on the card. He hasn't been a face for a while (ever?).
I don't think Christian is ever going higher than he is now. He just doesn't have that superstar intangible or look that you seem to need to move to the main event. Perennial IC contender is still better than a lot of guys get.
I'm not sold on a Christian/Benjamin extended feud. Mostly because I'm not sold on Christian as a believable IC champ. I do like Benjamin, though, and I think he needs a feud against either someone more established or someone physically bigger.
I think a Christian/Tomko tag title contendership might be interesting though.

Oh I couldn't disagree more. I think Christian has been looking great for about a year now. Maybe even a little longer. He's really grown on me. I think the Captain Charisma stuff is hilarious. Especially now that JR has started calling him Capt. Charisma (tongue in cheek, of course) while calling the matches.
I would nominate Christian for most improved performer in the WWE over the past few years. He's lightyears beyond the temper tantrums they had him doing a while back.
Now, to some of you what I'm about to say might be the next best thing to heresy, but I'll say it. With the right direction and a little push, Christian could be the next HBK.
There. I said it.

Christian definately could be the next HBK. Now, it's not that easy, of course. And HBK may be that one of a kind guy that you never find the next one of because they don't exist. But I thought they might go with a Chrstian vs HBK program to give Christian the rub. Of course, Jeff Hardy was the next HBK at one time, so maybe fans of Christian should steer clear of that particular expression.
First off I like Christian's new music. His song before this one was one of the most uneventful, generic jobber music in The E. It suits Tomko fine
I thought Christian had some real major momentum right after Wrestlemania. So much so I thought he was going to get a PPV title match at the PPV that had a Battle Royal for the #1 contendership (Bad Blood I think, gawd these PPV all fuzzy but it's the PPV of HHH/HBK HITC where it was hyped their final confrontation which of course was broken 4 months later, but I digress)... But yeah if Christian didn't get hurt before the Battle Royal to face Benoit, I thought you could have made a legit case for him to get a World title shot (and lose) to Benoit in a PPV where you have a HHH/HBK hyped HITC, instead they went with Kane.
His injury hurt him as when he came back his momentum from WM passed him by. He had his moments with matches vs. HBK in tag matches. But they had a Free TV match one on one which Michaels won pretty easily & Christian is back to IC contender. It's a common story where a guy is portrayed as not being able to overtake the legend... Either or, I'm not that upset over it. He is great in selling & the defense part of his work. But his offense I found very generic and one-dimensional & at times even boring. His character is kind of funny though.
smark/net attack wienerville advisory holds at ORANGE alert - High (JBL is STILL WWE champion and now smarks arch enemy HHH is the World Champion. Major red threat, but the undercard seems okay. The alert holds... for now)- 9/19
Agreed Net Hack, however they could have started to turn him now if they wanted.
It's pretty simple, after Edge's beatdown, have Orton book a 4 way elimination match b/w Edge, Snitsky, HHH and Batista. Orton then proceeds to book himself as the guest ref and then decides to have Benoit, Y2J, Maven and a special guest as lumberjacks to help "keep order".
Naturally, the guest is Kane who comes back with some form of neckbrace on or something. During a melee, have Edge setting up HHH for a spear. Have Tomko and Christian charge into the ring with Tomko landing the boot. Edge gets up while Christian and Tomko look at HHH while he gives them this strange look then smiles and waves them on. Christian sets up the Unprettier and points and smiles at the crowd. Then HHH nods at the both of them and nabs the easy pin to eliminate Edge.
Next week, Christian explains his anger at Edge for calling him a hack and challenges him to a TLC match at the next PPV. Christian explains then he has a match to get his IC title back. Christian gets ahead of Shelton but then Tomko gets in the ring and knocks out Christian. Shelton gets the easy pin and Tomko walks back. Maria stops Tomko and asks why he did that to Christian? And he explains that Christian is a mid-card hack who will never make anything of himself and he sucks. He states that Edge has more going for him and Edge offered him more money.
Christian then is stopped next week by Coach who berates him about getting his ass kicked. Christian knocks Coach out and then talks about how he is sick and tired of being seen a second fiddle to Edge and rants on about his older brother. Christian then states something to the effect of the student taking over the master and he will fight Tomko tonight in a no DQ match. Have Christian win the match decisively and then pointing up to Edge, who is doing commentary, and screaming at him about who the no talent hack is and berating Edge. At this time, Edge has this strange, but scared look on his face at the sight of Christian.

This show suffered from being 1 show's worth of writing split into 2 since they taped back-to-back SDs, hence things like a Punk/Fandango angle leading to a (spoiler!) match being spaced over two shows.
