Just to keep all you soda fans up to date- three new big sodas are headed your way in the new year (well, kinda like two and a half).
First up is Cherry/Vanilla Dr. Pepper and Diet Cherry/Vanilla Dr. Pepper. These are already available in parts of the South, and will be nationwide as of Jan. 3. Also, these are supposed to be a limited run, and part of a "Soda Fountain Classics" line. Who knows if Dr. Pepper will put out anything else underneath this label in the future.
The other soda, yet another Mountian Dew, is not official yet, but appears to be close to it. It is Mountian Dew Electrocution. It has a light purple color and is wild berry flavored. It should be Mountian Dew's spring time drink since they are into the seasonal soda thing now (Pepsi holiday Spice, Mountian Dew Pitch Black for Halloween, etc.).
And speaking of seasonal sodas, apparently Mountian Dew Livewire has officially become a permenant drink instead of a summer special, and a diet version is on the way.
Here's a link to beverage planet, where I got some of the info, and you can check out pics of the new pops on the block:
Originally posted by Mr Heel IIThe Cherry/Vanilla Dr. Pepper is quite tasty. But I'll miss Red Fusion, which has departed our market.
Counting the original, Dr. Pepper is three-for-three with me.
Yeah, Red Fusion is gone here too. Maybe that's why they're getting rid of it, to make room for the new ones. I don't even know if the convience store I work at will have Dr Pepper after the new year though, what with all the games the Pepsi distributor is playing around here.
NOTE: The above post makes no sense. We apologize for the inconvenience.
I hope the new Dew is better than Pitch Black. It has a Tussen/Cough syrup flavor to it. I'll try the new one as I've always been partial to blue/purple foods and drinks (except blue band-aids....ewwwwwww).
And now, for a limited time only, THE BAND IS OUT ON THE FIELD!!!"
Diet Livewire is great news. Now I just have to figure out how to get them to stock this instead of regular diet Mt. Dew in the vending machines at work.
Willful ignorance of science is not commendable. Refusing to learn the difference between a credible source and a shill is criminally stupid.
Oops. those pictures of the new pops are down now 'cause the founder of the company whose website had the pics up got into a serious head on collision. It says the website won't be updated anytime soon. Hope everything goes all right for them.
On a soda note, I am very psyched about the Diet Livewire also. I've been hoping for that since I tried the regular for the first time, but I thought it would never come since it started out as a seasonal soda. I've been checking every convenience and grocery store because the rumors say it's out in the Chicazgo area, but I've had no luck yet.

Has there been any new if Baja Blast will be available in stores? I love it but I don't make it out to Taco Bell enough to drink it.
I love what Mt. Dew has been doing these last few years with the different flavors. I just hope they don't oversaturate themselves and flood the market with sodas that no one drinks. I've had to track the stock of Pepsi for my Business Management class and Coke and Pepsi both had their stocks losing value, but recently they have rebounded.
Ever since the Diet Code Red came out, I haven't gone back to regular.
And now, for a limited time only, THE BAND IS OUT ON THE FIELD!!!"
We have the Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper down here in Texas, and it's not bad. There's not too much as far as vanilla flavor, but you definitely taste the cherry. I still think of the flavored drinks, Cherry Coke and Code Red rule all...but Dr. Pepper fans should love it.

For years my wife has ordered her Dr. Pepper at Sonic with cherry and vanilla and she loves it, so this is good news for her.
I tried the Holiday Spice Pepsi and it tasted like...um Pepsi with the very very slight hint of spice.
I tried the new Dr. Pepper while I was outta town this weekend, and I was pleased with it (them, if you count the diet version). It's not as drastic of a taste as I thought, but I liked it enough to lug a couple 12 packs back. There isn't much of a vanilla taste to it, and it does seem rather similar to Red Fusion, which I really liked. What makes it better than Red Fusion is that it has a damn good diet version. So if you try it and like it make sure to scoop up as much as possible 'cause apparently they are only planning on putting this out on a limited basis.

Perhaps I'm the only one, but I always preferred the Walmart's version of diet cola more than any national brand, i.e. Coke, Pepsi...but diet Lime Coke is awesome stuff.
One thing I used to love was the CLASSIC SELECTION brand from the 7-Eleven stores; i really wish they didn't discontinue the 600ml bottles years ago.
Check out my website; and my online journal...in English and Al Bhed. Seriously.
This isn't exactly related to sodas themselves, but when did Subway start carrying Coke products?? That's a HUGE account for Pepsi to lose.
You know, first of all, we are doing this for her, okay? Because neither one of us wants to get divorced. And second-of-ly, I know you're the big marriage expert... Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot. Your wife is dead.
[laughs] [beat]
...I'm sorry, that was 100% inappropriate, and I do apologize profusely...I'm...oh...
I think its a franchisee decision. There are a couple of Subways around me that carry Coke, and a couple that carry Pepsi. I try to stick to the ones that carry Pepsi.
