And sorry, but I don't understand the hate for Maven. Does he belong in the main event? Probably not, but to call giving him the title "borderline David Arquette" is an insult to all the hard work he's put in. (No TE jokes, please).

I'm sorry, but Tough Enough is a joke and is a reason why the business is in its current state...that show gave away more of the business to casual fans than anything else...Maven's had 3 years to improve and his dropkick hasn't gotten any better, and his moveset in general is cookie-cutter the same...he's a perfect example of the next person they should cut...

But wait!

WWE got great news in the Raw rating when the number came in at a 3.9 cable rating, with a 5.7 share. The show did hours of 3.9 and 3.9 and was the best figure that they have done in a while for the show.

It was okay. It wasn't fantastic, it wasn't terrible, and that's at least a slight improvement over some fairly recent showings of theirs.

However, I do have to note that I was taken aback by Benoit's mini-promo on Maven near the end of the show. I saw more charisma and speaking ability from him in those thirty seconds than in the entirety of his career. Hell, the CROWD got into it.

If he had been on like that for any percentage of the time when he was actually doing something important, they wouldn't be able to KEEP him out of the main event.

I really enjoyed the fact the way Eugene celebrated...it really brought me into the show Monday night.

The pillow fight was just funny and over all it was a good show. I wouldn't say great and I'm surprised it got that rating. I noticed a few people, which I agree with, were glad to see HHH retain.

For once thank you he did because I probably would have sh*t a brick, had a cow, and died all in the same instance.

They will NEVER cut Maven. Cutting Maven admits that TE was a complete and utter bad idea (which it was..and, still is) and a complete waste of time and resources. I'm still surprised Nidia was cut.

Maven has a good look (a gassed up gigilo), I suppose. What the hell's up with his eyelashes? He looked as he had eye liner on Monday.

Did anyone else notice that it *looked* like Snitsky had a black eye? I was waiting for someone else to comment on it as I wasn't sure whether I was seeing things or not. Being as no one has or I missed it...

The other thing that cracked me up was when J.R. and Lawler commented on the results of the poll for whether Maven was going to join Evolution or not. Why would it be that surprising? Being with Triple H should be more important than the title? Or is it just that surprising because they *guessed* what you had booked and it was supposed to be a swerve?

I've been away for a couple of weeks. So many things happening, and I finally got a new computer. I'm finally out of the Windows 98 and into XP.

First off, a little bit from last Thursday...I know I'm straight, but I'd rather be seducing Kamala than what I saw with Mae Young. Get her off my big-screen. Of course, my dad said that she'll be wrestling till she dies.

I don't want to go move by move, but I have a few thoughts.

1) Maven as GM - it took him 3.5 years to finally make it to the main event, and be the focal point of the show.

2) La Resistance/Tajiri & Rhyno/Eugene & Regal -I loved all the near falls, which lasted about 2 minutes, and plenty of cheers for all. Nice match, about time Regal & Eugene got titles. The celebration was hilarious. The chocolate milk bath!!! Maria...WOWEE!!! Eugene & Regal...Pure hilarity ensues!!! Somehow, I missed the hanky because I was laughing pretty hard at Eugene.

3) WWE 24/7 (I know it's a little out of order,s/b between match and celebration interview) - It's got everything...wait a minute, where's World Class??? Anyway, it's not on my Direct TV and you have to pay for it.

4) Maven/HHH talk - Just kept going and going, etc.

5) Lita/Molly - Look at SS match, even Trish's hair started to get a few red streaks from the blood. JR shills New Year's Revolution, and says he wants to work on his tan. Uh, JR, I don't want to think about that scenario. Sign seen: "Go to bed, Emma." I could say that to my niece/goddaughter. She's only 2. OK match. Trish comes out with the Geraldo Rivera look. She says that Lita will pay for it, but gets pushed in the nose...OUCH!!!

6) ECW DVD -> Boy, was that wild (I meant ECW itself, not the DVD).

7) Coach/JR -> HA!!! A Peyton Manning reference. Especially that my team, the Chicago Bears, is facing the Colts next weekend. JR comes from his seat, undoes his accessories, the OU music playing, the video (I mean, his entrance video is just a live shot of him coming to the ring). But, Maven says it is the wrong JR. It was RKO!!!

8) Coach/Orton -> Coach with the priceless look of coming back up from the barrier and seeing Orton. Guess Coach would be singing soprano on Heat. RKO = Win in a mercifully short match.

9) Edge & Christian/Benjamin & Benoit -> New ring jacket with AJ Styles Memorial Hood on for Christian. Nice match, then Edge goes crazy and attacks Christian. Tomko, you're supposed to be a problem solver? The problem was attacking your partner!!! Funny moment...girl starts laughing at Edge. "SHUT UP!!!" HA HA HA!

10) Lingerie Pillow Fight (Christy/Stacy) -> Who wins? All of us.

11) Simon Dean/Plant/Rosey -> It wasn't as funny as the first two weeks, besides being one of the most obnoxious things ever seen. They should put a comedy club brick wall behind Simon for the segment. I was actually writing about myself during this segment. Here's what I wrote..."I am a 29 year old white male (30 in March), single, looking for a long haired woman with a winning personality." Then, I was interrupted. Rosey, for the first time ever, actually made this watchable. Very funny for Rosey to stick the protein bar in Simon's mouth. And yes, I cheered loud when Simon hit Rosey with a plastic container of protein powder, and it sure hurt him (just being sarcastic).

12) WM recall with HBK beating Bret Hart with Vince McMahon as your mild-mannered play by play announcer, definitely pre-Weird McMahon.

13) That Hassan Guy - As he is talking, I'm starting to get one of those songs that sticks in your head and wouldn't go away in my head. When his manager starts talking, it gets louder (in my head).

14) Maven/HHH - good match, but definitely out of control. All bets were off when Edge accidentally gets the ref. Maven had a good showing. And of course HHH wins, JR has a fit with the ending. How did Orton get his nose busted up? We'll see next week.

I have to go to bed in a few minutes. I have to wake up and go to work tomorrow. At least it's a short day.

I'll be back, probably by the weekend.

Oh jeez.

Tough Enough is nowhere near the reason that the business is in its current state, nor is it on the list. No one can prove that, it's a massive conclusion to jump to.

What about Tough Enough would turn off casual fans? Educating them to the simple fact that the moves actually hurt and most people can't get the hang of the business and it might deserve respect? How was this some huge deterrent?

The business is in its current state because the product has been going downhill for years, because they botched surefire storylines, because the major stars bolted the first chance they got, and because Triple H has been deepthroated into the gullet of everyone for a good chunk of forever.

RAW last night was a prime example of why the numbers have been down for so long. A show like this, where for the most part the babyfaces get the best of the bad guys, where there's some kind of emotional reward for giving enough of a rat's ass to invest in the characters---that's how you book pro wrestling. And they did that while still allowing the evil heel Champ to slither away with his prize intact. It's possible to do that without making him look like Christ the King, and just now are they figuring out a way to do that effectively.

But it was a two-year learning curve of totally depressing Hunter dominance with occasional glimmers that sucked the life out of RAW for as long as most people could handle.

Let's just hope to high Christ they don't go back to that.

Kevin Von Erich still owns the World Class video library, and Vince apparently hasn't put enough zeroes on a check to cause Kevin to part with it yet.

How the hell did Kevin manage to hold on to the World Class Libary. Didn't the AWA and World Class merge to become the USWA and wouldn't everything have been lumped into the AWA libary?

Ah well, even though I tore the WWE Apart for the Hassan promo...that aside I loved RAW. I mean there were quite a few moments where I found my self marking out.

Damn I hate to say it, but maybe Triple H holding onto the title and everyone head hunting him might not be such a bad idea after all.

It's technically a shoot.
