Ongoing SSeries Thoughts

1st Match:
Tazz is wearing one UGLY tie. Mysterio just took off his shirt like someone takes off a pair of pants. Thats just weird. Spike has a weird goatee going on. Not his best look. I guess facial hair = EVIL? Three Way superplex? Thats a first. Spike wins. Meh.

Snitsky & Heindenreich? SMELL THE WORKRATE! "I like what you do to babies" Ummm...I dunno if thats hilarious or creepy.

2nd Match:
New theme song for Xtian! Ahh, they are just pimping the Themeaddict CD. Not a bad theme though. The one thing that I am noticing is how they are using hardwood floors under the ring and mats. I wonder if that is the regular floor they use for basketball games? Man, these near falls are helping this match a lot. Shelton wins. Really good match.

Angle & Eugene should have been funnier. Those big hands they sell for Eugene are just annoying.

3rd Match:
The heels come out together, but the faces don't. That aint right. Did CCC just throw Torrie out of that car? And WTF is someone sitting in a car during a PPV for? Team Angle jobs like a champ. I guess this proves the heels will win the RAW SSeries match later on.

More Snitsky! Good thing Fit Finlay knows how to carry another wrestler. wink wink...

4th match:
Heidenreich's theme sucks. His straight jacket attire sucks. He just plain ol' sucks. But, UT's theme and entrance is still kickass, even after doing it for so long. I wonder if anyone ever farted while UT did a tombstone piledriver? That would suck. What does suck is this match. UT wins. Next please..

No Maven? NO! This cannot happen! The people want, nay demand, Maven!

5th Match:
God, Trish rules. Lita gets DQ'd? Well that was anti-climatic. Lita just busted out a tazmission? Nice to see a female juice for a match. Still way too short though. Kinda disappointing.

Did Big Show just show Cena his "big show"?

6th Match:
Man, I think JBL just fucked up on the announce table spot. Looks like he slipped there. Oops. Josh Matthews does a run in with the ugliest suit ever worn in wrestling. That match really sucked with the 100 outside interferences. Just kinda ruined the whole ending.

Creed has a greatest hits? WTF? Didnt they break up?

7th Match:
Both old school SSeries matches have been 4vs3. Thats kinda disappointing if you're a tradionalist I'd assume. Wow. Orton's team wins. That was actually VERY unexpected. Maven running RAW will be sooooo exciting. Maybe he can hire Nidia back?

Overall, an ok PPV. Nothing really stood out as awesome, but nothing really sucked either. UT/Heidenreich and JBL/Booker T wasnt great, but it wasnt complete crap either.

I miss the GWF.

The Gund Arena looked... well, not full. Seriously, it looked like a WCW arena in 2000. Sad!

Heat match was La Resistance d. Hurricane & Rosey.

Spike Dudley v. Chavo Guerrero v. Rey Mysterio v. Billy Kidman: End was Kidman taking out Chavo, Rey taking Kidman outside, and Spike stealing a pin on Chavo to retain the title. Good match, but could have used a few extra minutes.

Gene Snitsky and Jon Heidenreich did a backstage vignette. Snitsky said he liked Heidenreich's poems. Heidenreich said he liked what Snitsky did to babies. They then shared in some loud, homosexual grunts. I swear to god I'm not making any of this up. As long as it doesn't lead to the world's worst tag team and/or match.

Shelton Benjamin v. Christian (w/ new entrance music and RING JACKET~!): Benjamin won with a T-Bone Suplex. REALLY good match, with some great false finishes at the end. You could tell the guys were really trying here.

Angle/CCC/Jindrak/Reigns v. Eddie/Show/Cena/RVD: Dissapointing match. Jindrak & Reigns proved that they have NO business being on this stage. They just looked god-awful. Cena chased Carlito out of the building before the match, so it started out as 4-3. Angle pinned RVD, even though about half of Rob's body was outside the ring. Even the announcers noted that it was a shitty call. Eddie pinned Jindrak. Show pinned Reigns. Angle tried to run out, but Van Dam stopped him, everybody hit their finishers and Show made the pin. They had RVD celebrate with the other 3 to let people forget that he was ever eliminated. Hey, here's a thought: How about you just DON'T ELIMINATE HIM TO BEGIN WITH!?!?!?!?!?

Snitsky attacked Maven backstage. Huh.

Undertaker v. Heidenreich: Oh god, just let it be short! Well, it wasn't short. And god, was it bad! Just a horrendously dull, sleep-inducing match. 'Taker won. The viewers lost.

Eric Bischoff noted that Maven may be out of the main-event, and no replacement will be allowed to be announced.

Trish v. Lita: Lita beat the shit out of Trish with a chair for about a minute and then was DQed. Trish looked to be busted open hardway. A fine way to get the feud over. However, couldn't they have just done this on RAW and then given more time to the Cruiserweight match or the SD elimination match, both of which could have used the extra 10-minutes it took them to do the video-package and entrances for this thing? Of course, if the match didn't happen, then Vince would have just given that time to Undertaker/Heidenreich, and who needs that?

Teddy Long announced John Cena v. Carlito Caribbean Cool for the US Title on SmackDown this week.

JBL v. Booker T: Okay match, but nothing special. Plenty of interference by Jordan. The ref got knocked down. Josh Matthews came out to stop more OJ interference, but Bradshaw stiffed the FUCK out of the kid with a clothesline. Booker axe-kicked Bradshaw, another ref came down to make the count, but Jordan pulled the ref out of the ring. Bradshaw then hit Booker with the belt for the win. I hope everyone realizes that this means that the main-event of Armageddon could very well be Bradshaw v. Big Show.

WWE announced that they are going back to Iraq sometime around Christmas. That's pretty cool. The theme for the Iraq show is 'One' which is going to be on a "Creed's Greatest Hits" album. I'd make an oxymoron joke, but if it weren't for Creed we wouldn't have had those awesome 'My Sacrifice' videos back in 2001, so I'll refrain.

Orton/Benoit/Jericho/Maven v. Hunter/Batista/Edge/Snitsky: Maven isn't there, so it's 4-3 to start. Hunter eliminated Benoit. Yes, Benoit is the first guy out. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. Hunter, Batista, and Snitsky got into an argument and dropped more f-bombs then I've ever heard in pro-wrsetling. Funny spot where Jericho had Hunter in the Walls and Hunter was pleading for help, but Batista and Snitsky were too busy arguing to notice. Jericho eliminated Batista via belt shot. Maven ran down for his revenge. I don't know how, but he somehow stiffed Snitsky, and Snitsky ended up having one HELL of a HYOOGE cut over his eye, causing him to bleed pretty badly. It looked really ugly. Maven cleaned house until Snitsky cracked him with a chair, which caused Sntisky to be DQed. Hunter then pinned Maven. Jericho was eliminated next, but I missed it, so I don't know the who and how. So it's down to Orton v. Hunter & Edge. The heels are ganged up on Randy. Orton eliminated Edge out of nowhere, so we're down to two. We weren't down to two for long, though, as Orton reversed a pedigree into an RKO for the win. Really good match.

Overall: Okay PPV. Nothing spectacular, but not horrendous. Could have used a little less Undertaker/Heidenreich, though.

Very solid PPV, better then SummerSlam, definetley had the ''Big 4'' feel. No disappoining matches really, all were either solid or great. Suburb cruiser opener, folllwed by a very good IC title match, Heidenreich/Sniksky was hilarious, as was Angle/Eugene, Cena didn't looked too banged up, those kayfabe doctors are great aren't they? Smackdown Survivor match was good if not short, Heidenreich/Taker was better then expected, slow start but built. Women's title wasen't a match but definetley built great for a rematch. WWE title was good, i like interference. JBL was faily obvious cause of prior stips though it was exciting. Raw Survivor was match of the night IMO. I thought heels might win also, they made everyone look important and was very exciting.

The theme song was awesome for this event, WWE are heading back to Iraq and we can expect ''New Year's Revolution'' on Januwary 9 ahead of the Rumble.

Overall I give Survivor Series 8/10

Pretty dull, anti-climatic PPV ... there's $35 I wish I had back.

My wife said "why are you going to spend $35 on this and then complain on how much it sucked when it's over?" ... She's gotta point.

I was just gonna say the same thing. When i come onto these boards after PPVs, the majority of people don't like them. So why buy them. I very rarely hate a PPV, I always get something good out of them, they can be OK or great or bad like the Great American Bash this year. If you didn't like the last PPV you bought chances are you won't like the next one you buy so just don't bother buying it.

Missed the opening match....

The Snitsky/Heidenreich segment was surreal. I thought a vortex had opened by the amount of bad acting there....

Christian/Benjamin had a pretty good match. I could do without the interference in seemingly EVERY heel match....

The Edge/Angle/Eugene segment backstage was nice. It's neat to see the backstage confrontations of guys that aren't in the same brand....

Nice scar, Cena. Oh wait...Real disappointed in the Smackdown traditional SS match. Seemed like they only did 50% of what they COULD do.....

The 'Taker/Heidenreich match wasn't as embarrasing as it could've been. Why it got 16 minutes instead of giving some more to the c'weight match or the Smackdown SS match is beyond me....

Well, we were thankfully spared from a Lita match. And Trish looks hot even when she's bleeding....

JBL v.s Booker wasn't bad. It had it's moments....

The RAW Survivor Series match was okay. Nice to see the heel team not get along, that was an added bonus to the match. It was good, but not **** level.

I do applaud where they're going in a lot of the directions here:

Spike Dudley vs Chavo Guerrero Vs. Billy Kidman vs Rey Mysterio

This was fantastic. All four guys worked their asses off, not that I suspected anything less. Anyways, remarkably good choice for an opener.

Shelton Benjamin Vs. Christian

Add Christian to the list of guys who have gone out of their way to make Benjamin look fantastic. Not that Benjamin didn't shine on his own; but Christian going all-out made the whole match even better. For once, I agree with JR that something HUGE is in the cards for Shelton Benjamin.

Team Guerrero Vs. Team Angle

Cena was remarkably over here, and I liked how they advanced the Carlito issue without having the two of them actually face off again. Having Show, etc. come out on top was certainly the right way to go here.

Undertaker Vs. Heidenreich

Surprisingly good, and it kept my interest, unlike most of Taker's recent matches. Heidenreich is not only good at playing his character, but he also held his own in the match. Not great or anything, but better than I thought it would be.

Trish Stratus Vs. Lita

I like the way this played out. They allowed Lita to (finally) get her revenge, while still keeping the feud alive. And call me crazy, but I think the gimmick of Stone Cold Lita might just work going forward, if they do it right. Trish, of course, was hilarious in selling the nose.

Booker T Vs. JBL

Ok, here's the one decision I disagree with. Why on earth are they so AGAINST giving Booker the belt? It would have been the right decision here, even with the whole "JBL quitting" stipulation. I mean, he could have wormed his way out of the pledge, saying Booker cheated or something, or even gone on to Raw. I'm not saying I dislike JBL, or even JBL as champion (to a degree), but enough is enough here.

Team ORTON! ORTON! BAH GAWD, ORTON! Vs. Team HHH

Again, I would have been happier had Triple H won in the end, but it doesn't really matter. A fantastic bout from beginning to end, with everyone doing a great job at keeping things exciting.

Had someone tape this one for me while I was away at the workplace. The main event was spectacular, but the rest of the card was iffy at best. Cena continuing his issue with Carly was definitely good and MAYBE this will lead to a more intense Cena. I remember him originally being put on the map with those fierce battle raps that came when Brock put him on the shelf, so maybe a worked barroom attack is what he needs to light a fire in him.

Also finished reading the Observer's recap. Shame on Meltzer for even SUGGESTING that WWE might be setting up Undertaker/Kane vs Snitsky/Heidenreich at Wrestlemania.

I'll be getting the Survivor Series DVD when it comes out.

Snitsky and HEIDENRICH alone is worth the price of the DVD.

So I hear Snitsky left the blade above his eye and then yanked it out on camera.

I swear this guy is like a walking parody of everything wrong with the WWE.

I suspect Josh is gonna demand a match against JBL this week and JBL will brutalize him but ultimatley lose in fluke fashion after Booker T runs in.

But yeah I'm glad I chose Victory Road over this.

$5 Dollars cheaper and alot better action.

I'm feeling very happy now I didn't go through with getting this PPV. Other than the Benjamin match, nothing really ever grabbed me enough to make me wanna buy. Maybe one of the brand PPVs will be worth while, but it looks like Royal Rumble will be the next time I pony up the dough.

Also finished reading the Observer's recap. Shame on Meltzer for even SUGGESTING that WWE might be setting up Undertaker/Kane vs Snitsky/Heidenreich at Wrestlemania.

Are you kidding?! That would be a hilarious match! The WWE needs some humor. Okay, granted Snitsky and Heidenreich are both unintentionally funny, but I could live with a Kane and Undertaker reunion.

The PPV was pretty lackluster last night. The WWE dropped the ball by letting a potentially great angle slip through their fingers. This was the ONE time that I actually wanted Evolution to win. Mostly because it could help bring about the end of Evolution. They could have had Edge, Snitsky and eventually even Batista create matches for themselves against HHH for the title. While I'm not a huge Edge-head, I'd still like to see him make a run for the title and of course, it would be great to subject HHH to a match with Snitsky. It would be an example for the ages on how exactly to phone-in a match.

I'm actually shocked Flair didn't play more of a role in the match and that he's still the "lapdog" for Evolution. I thought something big was going to happen when they closed up on Flair's red and gold robe hanging inside an open locker before the main event.

Surprisingly, the main event was actually pretty cool. Everyone seemed to make an effort and it flowed together pretty well.

The highlight of the evening had to be the Award Winner for Most Homoerotic Moment in Sports Entertainment EVAH!!! Snitsky and Heidenreich's exchange in the backstage area. "I like your poetry." "I like what you do to babies." **grunt, grunt, pant, pant, grunt** I was howling from my couch!

Making it even funnier was Heidenreich's music: "HEI-den! Hei-den-REICH! HEI-Den! Hei-den-reich!" Wow! That must have taken the WWE Theme Team all of 12 seconds to come up with.

Did anyone else see the security guard take a sign from a fan during the main event? The fan was right next to the stairs opposite the fixed camera. I didn't catch what all the sign said, but the top of it was "HAHA Batista Can't Beat..." What was it? I was curious about this because it seemed the guard was particularly angry at the fan and crumpled up the sign as he walked away. Jsut wondering what could have caused such ire.

Oh yeah, and SNITSKY RULES!

A few thoughts.

Snitsky/Heidenreich was hilarious. "I LIKE YOUR POETRY." Haha, so hilarious and quasi-homoerotic. Comedic gold.

Does anyone else think that maybe they are building up Shelton Benjamin a little too much? He beat Viscera, he beat Tomko, now last night he beat Christian with liberal interference by Tomko. I feel like he is being built up to be a bit too invincible. Don't get me wrong; I wanted Benjamin to retain the title -- it would have been too soon to take the belt away. But I just had trouble buying his victory the way they did it.

Also, I'm sick of Randy Orton already. Sorry, just had to get that one out. I'm especially sick of this face team -- good veteran wrestlers -- that look like Orton's lackeys every time they get together.

I'm not even sure if you can give him THAT long. Is he even getting over?

I also question the logic behind keeping the belt on JBL. I was convinced we were getting Booker as a transitional champ to put the belt on Angle, to put the belt on Taker at Mania. I apparently was wrong (so far).
