I heard a rumor in a local Lucha radio show... they said that former wcw and wwe wrestler Konnan (formely know also as The Barbarian) have serious damage in both eyes due to the abuse of stereoids...
They said that Konnan has lost his sight in both eyes...
Mil Mascaras and Canek were invited to this show and they talked a while about this topic.,... but i still wonder if is true...

Read again what you typed and ask yourself if you think anyone would believe you could be REMOTELY serious.

Stan Hansen & Arn Anderson are proof you don't need to see to wrestle.

I believe there's a language barrier here, so you might want to cut him some slack.
Are you talking about the Konnan who wrestled on Sunday's TNA pay-per-view? I don't think he was ever the Barbarian, so I'm not sure if that's who you mean or not. The Barbarian still wrestles indie dates. Maybe you're talking about another wrestler entirely. At any rate, none of these guys are blind enough that we've noticed. :)

My bad, if that's the case.
EDIT: I was referring to the idea that he said Konnan was "also known as the Barbarian" (paraphased, because I can't see his post while I edit my own), not bad grammar or anything.

Well, Ashenoff-Konnan originally worked as Konnan El Barbero, but obviously he's not blind as far as we can tell. I guess it's possible that Sionne the Barbarian (also a former WWF and WCW wrestler) could have eye trouble now, but it would seem more likely that a lucha show would be talking about Konnan el Barbero for obvious reasons.
As well as wrestling, Konnan has done announcing recently for TNA's Spanish announce team. Maybe he wears glasses, I don't know; but he must be able to see the match well enough to talk about it, I'd guess (not having actually heard his announcing).

Well one thing we can put in the malarky column for sure is the "due to the use of steroids" portion of the statement. Steroids do not cause blindness, I've never heard of that happening to anyone. Premature baldness, mood swings, acne and liver problems, but not blindness.

I can't tell if you guys missed or just didn't think it was worth mentioning the obvious "Konnan The Barbarian" joke here.
"Something that leftists are going to have to learn is that telling me I’m stupid, a racist, a bigot, or whatever else you may come up with is going to result in exactly one thing; further marginalizing you as a political power in America. What you need is me as your ally. Your inside man. Someone who will fight you on a lot of issues, but will also fight for you on others. Why?
Because I am the Republican Party. And right now, we control the game. If you want to play, you need to re-think this idea that throwing tantrums will get you on the field."

I'd ask you what you think that obvious joke is, but I'm just afraid I'll be disappointed because MY idea of jokes is that they're actually FUNNY, while YOU.... are NOT.
Justin shouldn't have to repeat himself to cover for your ignorance. Take 48 hours off.
Ok, ok... i guesss you need more information about this topic...
Konnan.. a Cuban wrestler based on Miami, who was very popular here in Mexico in the middle 90's working for AAA and CMLL have serious injuries in both eyes due to his abuse on VETERINARIAN stereoids....
I mean, steroids indicated for cows and horses...
You can find this products in the black market here in México and are WAY cheaper than the professional steroids... i dont know if the abuse on this suplements can be linked with some kind of problems with the sight... the fact is that Konnan use sunglasses in every single show in the US, one more thing, he doesnt wrestle anymore... he work as a commentarist or announcer on indie shows.
I don t know if he already have permanent damage in both eyes, but the wrestlers at the radio show said that he have serious damage in both eyes.
Makes sense that Konnan would be taking veterinarean steroids, as he is a total jackass.
Also, indy wrestler Fast Eddie is legally blind, so if Konnan happens to be on that level, it doesn't mean they can't possibly wrestle. I think the baggy pants and sloppy workrate would get in his way moreso than vision.
Well, I took a few minutes to search on the net for steroids relating to blindness, and I did come across this:
"Another study of 3,600 folks found inhaled steroids increased the chances of cataracts. Some have disputed these results, and I don't mean to scare people off. Steroids clearly do control asthma. But I'd definitely sit down with my doctor and discuss the risks. At a minimum I'd want periodic eye exams. These are powerful drugs, and while asthma is certainly a serious problem, so is going blind."
It is talking about using steroid inhalents to fight asthma, but I thought it *might* be applicable here. It is possible his eyesight has been damaged... but legally blind is different than totally blind. A friend of mine is legally blind, and he sees pretty fine with his glasses.
There's another article here about steroid inhalents...
Yes.. he is the same Konnan... well i suposse that we can oficially finish this topic with this urban legend busted...
thanks CRZ !
Not necessarily. Like the names mentioned before, (Arn, Stan, Fast Eddie), you can get by in the ring with poor eyesight. (The way Arn explains it, he wrestled by touch.)
