“We shouldn't be surprised that extracting wind energy on a global scale is going to have a noticeable effect. ... There is really no such thing as a free lunch,” said David Keith, a professor of energy and the environment at the University of Calgary and lead author of the report, which appeared in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
Specifically, if wind generation were expanded to the point where it produced one-10th of today's energy, the models say cooling in the Arctic and a warming across the southern parts of North America should happen.
I called it.
Willful ignorance of science is not commendable. Refusing to learn the difference between a credible source and a shill is criminally stupid.
And yet the key part of this study is how many wind generators would probably be needed to make a difference.
We're not going to change over night, and we're not going to go all out wind power. We're always going to get our energy from a large diversity of sources, including solar and tidal when the technologies become better.
In the mean time, the drive for wind power is going at a pace that allows for corrections if need be.
And again, a wind power company is far more likely to do things in an environmentally sensitive manner then a coal, nuclear or oil company, who consistently seek to block further environmental regulations.
Imagine no possessions I wonder if you can No need for greed or hunger A brotherhood of man Imagine all the people Sharing all the world
You may say that I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will live as one

Wait, but isn't the Arctic warming up right now? See, so this will cool it back down! And we'll be all balanced up again! We rule!

Glad to hear everyone made it out okay, as it sounded very serious from the new reports. We're about to get your left-overs. All eyes will be on fire-ravaged Malibu on Saturday, as the remnants of your storm is passing through over the weekend.
