There are also some games on Telemundo (which I still don't get) and the HDTV version of NBA TV. Again, check out http://www.nba.com/schedules/national_tv_schedule/ for the whole story.

Have they always shown games on NBA TV? I always thought it to be similar to the NFL Network: plenty of shilling for the league, but no actual games.

If I can catch this many game by paying for NBA TV, then there's no reason to spring for the whole NBA package, especially if I'll get to see most of Minnesota's games.

They didn't show this many last year, but yep.

I'm also pleasantly surprised by how many "free"* games there are. It does make it a lot easier to justify not ponying up $169 for the rest of the games with NBALP.

*Ignoring that I have to pay for a separate tier to get NBATV on top of the massive amount of money I'm already paying for digital cable

Well, yeah, there is THAT. And I think with DirecTV, I have to pay for a second tier of channels that I don't even WANT to get NBA TV.

So all that combined with how much hope we all had in the Lakers early last season (remember back when we had 4 hall-of-famers on one team?), it seemed like a really good idea at the time. Not so much now.

Anywho, they finally switched it over last week and I TOTALLY miss my ESPNs. I cant believe I'm gonna miss out on all of those games.

Oh, and ESPN's "There are absolutely NO sporting events going on right now" filler shows are WAAY better than the filler crap FSN comes up with :(

Had you forgotten about it? THAT would me make FLIP OUT. Especially ESPNEWS. Could you have cancelled it since it took so long? They only trade Shaq four months or so ago...

DirectTV CSR: DirecTV, how can I assist you?
DJFF: Yes, a few months ago we made arrangements to swap out our ESPN channel for FSN channels.
DirecTV CSR: Uh huh.
DJFF: Well, you haven't actually *done* that, yet.
DirecTV CSR: I show that we've got you scheduled for the last week of October.
DJFF: Yeah? Well, NEVER MIND! Buh-bye.

At least if you decided to change it back you might have it in time for the 2005-06 season.

My ability to watch games actually IMPROVED by downgrading my system when I moved a few months ago.

I downgraded from DirecTV to Comcast non-digital advanced, but since I don't have the same issue with games on Sunshine Network being blacked out like I did with DirecTV (because, of course, they want you to buy the League Pass), that means that every Heat game that isn't on national TV will be on Sunshine, so I'm all set at least.

Correct me if i am wrong, but I always thought that the main pulls for League Pass were that you saw all your teams games of course, but you also got extras like news and analysis of the team you chose, along with having the regional commentators.

(mind you, this info i heard second hand)

Even if Wisconsin and MSU win today and make it 3 teams in the Final Four, I'm sure people will still say it was a weak conference. The arguments about the easy road are going to come, but you can't pick who you play in the tourney.
